Very timely as our 12 week old Berner is right at this stage. Not a complete shark but enough that the video was a useful watch with the kids to help with a discussion about how to manage the behaviour.
Thanks for this video. I like that you mentioned how this can be difficult with little kids. I have two kids and hope to be a first time dog and Berner owner one day. Being able to be prepared for these puppy stages is very helpful. Love all your videos. Keep ‘‘em coming!
My parents berner pup is going through this right now. She learned to pinch with just her front teeth even. 🤦🏻♀️ Have you got any content talking about handling jumping with this bernese?
This is great, thanks. My 10 month old is still grabbing clothes for attention, could she still be teething or is she too old for that? Should I just try and redirect with a treat?
Random question. I have a 9 week old berner and his fur is insanely soft! I love it! Is that just the puppy coat that is soft. Does it get coarser and rougher when they get older or does it stay soft?
That is his puppy coat, they start to shed that out around 5/6 months and will start to grow in their adult coat which consists of an outer coat that is coarser and an undercoat which is soft and thick. That growth will start at the base of the tail in a gland that is visible. You will start to see the hair become slick and flat there.
