one of my favorite themes of this story is how learning someone’s perspective can change your opinion of them. this story does a fantastic job of dehumanizing people and then rehumanizing them.

Btw, my favorite quote of this episode is Granny Olenna saying to Varys "what happens when the non-existent bumps up against the decrepit "

another interesting detail about theon in the books is that he had been sleeping with the wife of the farmer who those orphans had been sent to. not sure if they were portrayed as orphans in the books, but it’s entirely possible and within the theme of theon’s story that they were his own sons.

The main point of releasing Theon and then bringing him back was to make Theon feel like he’s never safe and like he has no power or agency in his situation. To make him doubt himself and second guess any chance he thinks he has of escaping and of course to fuck with his head/mentally torture him.

See a lot of people hated theon and jamie so much that they didn't even care when they basically got tortured. I'm glad at least some people can still sympathize with them even though they're terrible people lol

You guys stand out in your ability to keep up with what's happening, know all the names, catch all the lines. Reactors usually miss half of what's going on and it's frustrating to fans of the show because those reactors aren't appreciating how great and smart the show is and how unbelievably well it is written. All would draw large audiences to follow you through them. A movie? The best movie so many people haven't seen... True Romance. Written by Quinten Tarrantino. Has it all. Wild af, darkness, hilarity, and an absurdly great cast. It amazes me more reactors haven't seen True Romance. There's 0% chance you don't love it. Just my two cents. Roll Tide fellas.

This really is the episode where Ser Sandor Clegane grew on me. The way he rebukes Thoros' accusations is so good!!! And then indeed having justice because he never acts outside his oaths or orders.

Varys and Granny talked about Sansa being the key to the north. Then Margery executed the plan by talking to Sansa into marrying her brother.

18:50 it always bugs me how quickly and easily theon is walking in this scene. wasn’t he strapped to a cross with his foot impaled on a giant screw drilling through it like two days ago? wouldn’t he still be in agony from them cutting into his fingers and prying off his fingernails? i can overlook the finger part, but it wouldn’t have been much to have him limping/hobbling here.

Fellas is getting into a rhythm with the show. It reaaally gets cooking when you finally start to enjoy the character arcs of ALL the characters. The protagonist characters are great, but the “bad” characters are no less intriguing.
