Funnily enough, the reason you think TOTB sucks (the focus on characters being switching around) is actually why UnluckyTug himself loves the special since he considers it a character study of the three mains, Thomas, Percy and James.

I wasn’t expecting Tale of the Brave to be so low on the list.

A lot of controversial opinions to be sure but honestly, even if I didn’t agree with some, I was happy to see them. It’s really good to see new takes in this fandom.

Henry's character got fixed in Season 20.

Finally someone else who doesn't like Tale of the Brave like me there aren't that many Tale of the Brave haters out there so it's nice to see another one.

Your audio could be better, but you explained your opinions very well. Also, I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't mind Ryan. He's nowhere near my favourite, but he stands out from the other generic nice and happy characters by being a total wimp. He's best when he bounces off Daisy.

i found an animation error in The Great Race, as the shot pans over the railway show, you can see Axel on the turntable, and his tender is floating next to him on the turntable and clipping into his cab. i never noticed that before

Interesting List, Here’s Mine #14 Big World Big Adventures: Everyone in this movie is dumb, and therefore the movie is dumb, f**k it #13 The Great Race: This film try’s too do too much, and is basically there just too sell your Wooden Railway Diesels in Disguise Three Pack or some s**t, the stuff with Gordon and Scotsman, and Vinnie and Phillip is Awesome and I wish there was more with them #12 Thomas and the Magic Railroad: why is there Magic in this, why are the engines barely in this, I mean, I came here too see I film about Thomas not Lily Stone, the story is really confusing, and the voice acting is mixed, Thomas’ voice is annoying, James and Percy’s are far from perfect, and Henry sounds too stuffy, I prefer there original voices by John Bellis and Micheal Angelis, unestly, If they had kept the original director’s cut, then I would probably keep it the same ranking, I don’t think this film is bad, but it’s not good either. #11 Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure: I no, controversial placement, but I’m not a fan of this film, Henry’s Subplot, and Donald and Douglas’ Scene both go nowhere, Sir Topham Hatt and Thomas are very unlikable throughout the whole film, The Song Never Overlook A Little Engine, while catchy, adds nothing too the film, The main plot is just a rehearse of The Great Discovery on my opinion, and Ryan is just sort of there, I’m also not a fan of how they made this an action packed film, it worked in most films, but it doesn’t work here because most of the action is kinda forced in and adds nothing too the plot. #10 Day of the Diesels: I personally think this film is worse than Misty Island Rescue, but i don’t hate it either, the score is amazing, Diesel 10 was handled well, at least until the end, the song is a banger, the score will always slap, Thomas isn’t the main character, and Den and Dart are hilarious characters. #9 King of the Railway: like The Great Race, this one also does to much, it has several plot point that could easily have been done better as 4 separate episodes, i also don’t like the whole mastery element they try too push with this, the good stuff in this film however are really good. But if I went into detail about that, we’d be here until March #8 Misty Island Rescue (go ahead, unsubscribe): again, controversial. but personally, I don’t hate this special, I do love the message about how you can’t always be right, all the time, I love how serious the events are played out, The music in the opening credits is fantastic, the song is a bop, and Diesel 10's post credits scene was great. #7 Tale of the Brave: alright, now the good Thomas films, like Misty Island Rescue, this film also has good messages, those being Don’t Make fun of your friends, friends believe each other, and being brave is about what you do, even when you do feel scared, Gator and Marion are great new characters, the animation and music is fantastic, and the song "Our Tale of the Brave" is fantastic. #6 Journey Beyond Sodor: this film is better than I remember, when I first watched it, I thought this was one of the best things in the Thomas franchise, but than I watched The Unlucky Tug’s review in this, and I thought it was the worse film in the entire franchise for a couple of years, but then it started to grow on me again, and now I quite like it, it’s not perfect, but if you watch this with the mindset of this being a finale, it really hits. #5 The Adventure Begins: again, not perfect, but really good, aside from Thomas and Henry, the characters were all handled really well, the music is great, the animation is great, and it was a nice retelling of wilberts books. For the most part #4 Hero of the Rails: now we get into the really good ones, this film deserves more recognition, Spencer being an antagonist is a really cool idea, the steam team work as a family in this, Hiro and Victor are really good characters, and the story is well structured, again, not perfect. Hiro’s Backstory messes up continuity with the railway series. The UK Voices for Thomas and Percy, and The Us Voices for Henry and Toby could have been better, Victor’s UK Voice is atrocious, and the animation is a bit dull #3 Calling All Engines: again, controversial (again), but I kinda like this "film", my only grip are those learning segments, if those were cut out, then I would enjoy this a lot more, The way the Steamies vs Diesels conflict was handeled great, unlike Day of the Diesels, which paints one side in a bad light and the other in a good light with no middle ground (was Percy was supposed to be there middle ground?) Calling All Engines does it’s best to tell the audience that both sides are useful, but also just as bad as the other. #2 Blue Mountain Mystery: a fantastic special, my only grip is the scene where Skarloey and the others just ignore Thomas and not give him a chance too explain himself does make them feel kinda out of character, other then that, the rest of the film Handles them really well, Luke is a fantastic character, I love the darker tone of this movie, Victor and Paxton are well expanded, and Thomas is handled really well in this too. #1 The Great Discovery: just watch The Thomas Cynics review too get a good idea in my thoughts here. my only grip with this movie is the scene where Stanley puffs past Thomas and says "Bad Luck Thomas" with a big a** smile on his face, no wonder Thomas dosen’t like him, other than that, this film is fantastic.

May i point out blue blue moutain mystery that the only flaw i think it has is the crash and rescue scene. I say this because when thomas is with rusty before henknows much about luke the narrator says that thomas couldnt travel on narrow gauge track his wheels were to big. Wouldnt that mean thomas KNEW that he couldnt fit onnthe track but did it anyways innthe crash scene. But hey i might just be nitnpicking

When I was younger and was still obsessed with Thomas, I got all the CGI films except Tale of the Brave. I have no idea why cause I got the movies onward before BWBA. Maybe it wasn't marketed well in my brain at that time.

I Have a huge soft spot for Magic Railroad. I get its flaws and its stupidness, but I have so much nostalgia for it! The score is one of if not my favorite of all the movies.

The gesturing of the engines makes me nauseous, I'm not exaggerating. I literally feel my stomach churning every time i see it.

I think Thomas & the Magic Railroad is the best movie ever.

I can see why u put tale of the brave below day of the diesels but I would put day of the diesels below it because to me then tale of the brave has more action and lessons then day of the diesels

Here are my thoughts and rankings. 1. Blue Mountain Mystery: Pros: Victor and Luke’s origins, the Narrow Gauge Engines return with beautiful designs, Andrew Brenner edits the script, the soundtrack and songs are absolute bangers, the three flashback scenes are superb, the values of trust and friendship. Cons: The narration is unnecessarily used in some scenes. 2. The Adventure Begins: Pros: Thomas and James have original liveries, the renditions of M&J classic music, Arc Productions’ new animation, it does the RWS justice more than Season 1, an excellent 70th anniversary contribution. Cons: Henry is supposed to have his old shape, Glynn doesn’t add much to the story. 3. The Great Discovery: Pros: The model work is fantastic, it utilizes as many characters, James Bond as narrator, Stanley is at his best, the songs are memorable (except WOWIT?) Cons: Some scenes drag a lot of time, some characters are still absent. 4. Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure Pros: The villain is a human, the return of classic fan favorite characters, stunning action sequences, the soundtrack is orchestral, Eddie Redmayne and John Hurt as special guest stars. Cons: Characters used for fan service, Ryan’s role is basically Stanley’s in TGD, Sir Topham’s tantrum goes too far. 5. Tale of the Brave: Pros: Percy is the main character (2nd time), Gator is an amazing new character, the songs are cool, it blends three character arcs into a cohesive narrative. Cons: Reg doesn’t do much, the ending song ruins the perfect ending, James is an utter jerk for no reason. 6. Hero of the Rails: Pros: The Steam Team work as a unit, Nitrogen studios has wonderful animation, the voice cast did marvelous performances, Spencer is the antagonist. Cons: Hiro’s confusing history, overuse of unnecessary narration, reduced cast of characters. 7. King of the Railway: Pros: Sodor’s medieval lore and history, Stephen is a standout character, good character banters, Andrew Brenner’s role had a brilliant start. Cons: The plot is confusing, Arc’s first animation looks dull, the Earl’s surprise is pretty obvious. 8. Thomas and the Magic Railroad: Pros: The Director’s Cut, the chase scene is fantastic, Diesel 10 is an entertaining villain, each Sodor character has a standout moment, the soundtrack slaps. Cons: Thomas is not the main character, the plot doesn’t make sense, the human characters are dumb, it’s a box office failure. 9. Misty Island Rescue: Pros: The story idea is great, the soundtrack and song are amazing, Diesel 10’s return, Sir Topham Hatt and the engines have a heart for Thomas. Cons: Thomas is an annoying idiot, the new characters are forgettable, the rhyming is infuriating, ridiculous plot holes. 10. Journey Beyond Sodor: Pros: A perfect movie concept and well executed, Thomas and James work off each other, Merlin is an interesting new character, Henry’s crash is cool. Cons: The experimental engines are weird characters, Beresford does nothing at all, wacky musical numbers, lack of realism. 11. The Great Race: Pros: The concept is interesting and creative, the songs are awesome, Ashima is a good new character. Cons: Unfocused storylines meshed together, the moral is standard, the international engines don’t do anything, it’s a musical toy advertisement. 12. Calling All Engines!: Pros: The Steam and Diesel conflict, the storm sequence is suspenseful, the songs are catchy. Cons: The learning segments, the dream scenes are ridiculous, the fight scenes are dumb, severe lack of engines. 13. Day of the Diesels: Pros: Percy is the main character, awesome soundtrack and song, cool action sequences. Cons: Every character is stupid, bad writing, the movie wastes so much time, Dennis, Splatter and Dodge should have returned. 14. Big World Big Adventures!: Pros: The concept is decent, Nia is a fine character. Cons: The overall execution is bad, stereotypical settings, cartoony animation, Sir Topham Hatt is an idiot, Ace is just a Disney Cars knockoff.

Adventure Begins will always be my favorite! Lost Treasure is a close second!

Bule Mountain Mystery's script was edited by Andrew Brenner which makes Henry's personality change even more jarring. Did Mattel want Brenner to write Henry as a whimp?

i rewatch calling all engines about a mouth ago think it was going to be bad but instead i really like it its so well done and it very underated
