On your safety chains be sure to cross them. I found out about this when I rented a trailer from U-Haul. The reason for this is if the trailer comes unhitched from the tow vehicle the tongue will rest in the cradle of the safety chains and not drop down and gouge into the pavements.

Reading lots of comments about ergonomics and such so I may have missed anything about lift capacity. I'm thinking specifically about uprooting jack pine and spruce roots while clearing pasture. Good video.. caught my attention as a landowner who could make good use of the tool. Thanks

@@sparkys506adventures4 I’ve always wanted to run an excavator someday since being a little boy. Now at age 55 I still haven’t. Can you turn the outriggers over so they sit on the flat plate? I would think you could slide along on the flat plates until you get to your digging location by pulling your self with the bucket. You wouldn’t have to lift the front. I guess you would need to turn them over before you dig so the pointed side can grab the ground. Really enjoyed the assembly video and this one.

To have a versatile little machine for trenching, digging, lifting trees and logs, and rocks 😂 you could do much worse. Once you get more used to the controls that thing will pay for itself on the first real project. It's either very quiet or you were practicing on low engine RPMs.

In USA get a Jensen mb 300 same machine. And yes it like having Jacky Chan in your corner ..it’s small light easy to move store and fights like a heavy weight. It is very impressive.i have used mine hard and heavy for years stumps trees rocks gravel .comes with 3 buckets a thumb if you want it ..this machine has been trouble free .. now i do keep it clean and well lubricated also indoors. I am a proficient operator of the unit and can remove tree roots and load other equipment into trucks and trailers …all for less money than a night in the hospital would cost by avoiding injury this kind of work will cause a 65 year old small man to have hand digging ………and attempting to lift without it will have ……..get one you won’t regret it if you need one

Same damn thing, I put the same kinda tires on it as you did and drug it 1800 miles from ND to ID at 65 MPH did great until a bearing blew out 70 miles from my homestead. Got it delivered to ND for $2100 USD with 2 buckets. I also built a 2 foot extension on the tow bar for a little more space between the truck and the unit. You're not doing too bad at all moving it around. I used to have an old Case 646 series B backhoe that was run into the ground by the local water plant fixing water lines ( apparently regularly scheduled maintenance was optional ). Anyway... The rear end went out and the only way to move it is what your doing. There's definitely a learning curve, but the more you do it... The smoother you get at it.

I remember when I was building my house I rented a small machine with a bucket and backhoe attachment. I managed to bury the thing in my backyard in about 3 feet of mud and couldn't get the thing out. The place where I rented it sent an experienced operator to pick it up. Figured I was screwed but this guy, using the bucket and backhoe in conjunction with each other had it out in 15 minutes. Here I was trying to drive it out and he just lifted and walked himself out. It's like anything else, it takes practice. Bought my own backhoe a few months later and before long got to be a pretty decent operator. Took a while, made some mistakes, but eventually got good enough to be dangerous.

Okay so after watching your videos, I'm thinking in my head use those full-size tires on the back and just keep them on there but have electric hub motors in each of them and have a controller for each of them similar to a pressure sensitive toggle, then you could have like a "miniature Z-Turn". I think you should be using the same tires you normally use and I don't see no reason why those tires can't go in the front and then just put the outriggers in the back put the casters on the outriggers in the back and then have little electric hub motors in each of your tires with a control going to an independent spot. I don't know my mind running wild, its Saturday morning, but surely it would be fairly easy to make itself repelled without the use of hydraulics or extra engines just two electric motors just to piddle around

I would keep it hooked up to the truck. That would allow you to get a good bite without towing your self along

that is a good idea but would be very limited to moving around any amount that way ...if I had a hard stump to pull etc that would work great actually !!! Thanks for watching

You should put your teeth in the ground and pulled that way not with the bucket back

You will learn how to use this. Think about what you want to do with it. You will find that when digging trench it works best to go backwards.

I think you can tow this with the bucket in the back of the atv lifting the legs up in the air. tie the bucket off and drive slow. new subscriber

Only draw back is that you have to remove each pins and apply grease. I do mine after every 8 hours of use. It is a pain but those pins would wear out very quickly if you don't. I've made a bracket that I can insert in the square tubing where the hitch goes and I put two cinder block on that bracket. It does help holding down the back end and not bounce as much.. Check out Metsa man videos. Same backhoe , just different name. Got the idea of buying one after watching his videos.

the hydraulics are very strong on it and they sell a grapple for them also .....depending on size of your logs it may work great

Nice Looking Black Dirt, Damned a Black Fly!

I admit its a great "toy". I had one but the other model with the 4 llevers, quite similar to what you have and it really worked well. The one mod I wanted was to add an electric starter . not that the engine was hard to start but I wanted the convenience. To add a starter you have to change the flywheel since the original haw no crown gear. It was simpler to just swap the motor with one with the starter already installed and costs about the same as going with the original engine. The only drawback it has is the degree of swing of the boom (about 130 degrees) which some times I found inconvenient especially when you are digging a trench or trying to load soil in a trailer. Other than that for the price I think its a great back saver

The question is how much is that thing? With the new micro excavators being produced for 4-5 k and you get tracks for self propulsion and the arms being way longer i’m not sure that thing is even worth buying , oh yeah i forgot they even have that little dozer blade that it’s very useful , if you’re wowed bu that thing you better never try one of them others or you’re going to be regretting buying that
@sparkys506adventures4

Micro excavators being sold for 4 to5 k ? ..... Actually princess auto where I bought this one does sell the mini excavator made by red rock same company that made my machine . its 10k plus tax .....we paid 4200 plus tax .....And BTW the mini excavator weighs 1345 lbs where the towable backhoe weighs 1176 lbs .....Only 169 lbs more with a complete drive system lol no brainer for an occasional use machine ....Im not a contractor just want to move some dirt around .....
@VergorioVergara
@VergorioVergara 5 месяцев назад
@@sparkys506adventures4 i guess you’re looking in the wrong places , yes you can get a mini for slightly more than you paid for that and with a ton of added benefits like the tracks so you can move more efficiently , it has to be a pain to move that thing by dragging it with the bucket , you also get the dozer blade and a hydraulic thumb to pick up things and added height and digging depth , yeah i also just move some dirt around the house but for the price a mini does a hell of a lot more sense
@VergorioVergara
@VergorioVergara 5 месяцев назад
@@sparkys506adventures4 oh snd the weigh on these are around 2300 pound so that also helps more with digging and pushing dirt
