Congrats! Excellent choice. Burano was a letdown for me. I’m currently using KX and kept Komodo OG as well. Agree shooting on Red drives inspiration! ❤

V-Raptor x is badass!! Enjoy it. I think that for the majority of filmmakers, it's not a good time to buy a camera that's more than $6K. The entire film industry, narrative, documentary and TV commercials business is collapsing. Work has dramatically fallen off a cliff for most people and will only get worse in the coming months. There's a phrase going around that's "Survive till '25". . Clients are looking to penny pinch more than ever, and unfortunately we've entered the era of good enough where a Sony FX3 and especially an FX6 is good enough in the clients' eyes. For the most part, they aren't willing to pay more for a camera like the V-Raptor-X except for a tiny fraction of jobs. The Sony A7SIII and FX3 dominate production all over Asia and are used to create spots for McDonalds and Toyota in their markets. There's a reason that RED sold to Nikon. They saw the future of "good enough" and wanted to cash out while they could.

For the maker if the price just matches around fx6 or even a bit more for red quality people(makers) would like to purchase it. However what u said about sony n all is absolutely true.

Yes this is my biggest worry. More often than not, clients are just fine with my FX6, but some work with REDs a lot and want to stick to that. It's a major 50/50 dice roll, so fingers crossed for all of us.

There is some truth to this statement for sure. I personally own an Arri Alexa Mini, Arri Amira, Red Monstro 8K, Red Ranger Gemini 5K, (2) Sony FX6 and (2) Sony FX3 cameras. Different tools for different jobs, and it’s nice to have at least two options from each manufacturer as either a backup in the field, or for multi-cam shoots / productions (e.g. interviews, etc.). Even though I have the Arris and Reds, often times I’m reaching for my FX3 for run-n-gun projects, event productions, gimbal shots, etc. It’s just a quick and easy camera to use. But when I work with top-end companies, where I need the best imagine quality / dynamic range, that’s when the other toys come out to play. Every one of those cameras get their time to shine in the rotation. And based on the notorious depreciation of RED cameras, I have not had the urge to invest into DSMC3 (well, I should say reinvest, as I did own (2) Komodo OG cameras, and sold them as they couldn’t quite hang with my Monstro and Gemini). Although they’re phasing out DSMC2, they’re still fantastic cameras, and most can’t even tell the difference between the imagine coming out of those to the newer DSMC3 offerings (I actually prefer the look to the older sensors to the newer ones); although the global shutter is for sure a nice to have. Due to the depreciation of REDs, I’ll be hanging onto my DSMC2s until they no longer work (resale value of them is too low for me to consider selling them). I digress, but congrats on your purchase, man!

At least this car can (in theory) pay itself off eventually and make money... Hopefully.

As a new Raptor X owner myself, I share a lot of the same feelings with you. I wanted a camera that inspired me every time I flick on the power switch. This camera does exactly that. Awesome video!

Wow this Is the video I been waiting to see by someone thanks for this cause other than the ARRI Alexa 35 , 65 and IMAX no other camera can compete plus it’s the only camera in the world with 17+ stops of DR , large format sensor w/ global shutter so in much respects it’s truly in league of its own if anything I can tell you , you future proof yourself even if the film industry is down

It's worth every penny, just make sure it makes sense for you. It's a major financial undertaking.
