It’s interesting to see how tarantulas do have their own preferences and personalities. My A geniculata is maybe a half inch smaller than yours, and it’s always out in the open. It’s even dug out it’s burrow deeper than I originally made it, but it never uses it. I only have seven different species, but my A Geniculata might be my favorite. It’s pretty, it feeds like there’s no tomorrow, and it never kicks hairs. Tarantulas are just too cool. It’s hard not to just stare at them even when they’re doing nothing

My A. geniculata is always out but when I open the lid she gets spooked and runs into her hide. I could have waited for her to come back out but I was pressed for time. She is crazy as heck though. Always attacks prey and even the water when I fill the dish. 😂

They are beautiful. Much more deserving of a better name than Haitian Brown. Their popularity has increased and so has the price. I paid $10 each for mine but now they’re going for over $50.

You kind of sound like you're from New Mexico. I have family from there and the drawl is very distinct. Of course I'm probably wrong but it's just that your voice sounds so familiar. Love your videos by the way! Really good camera shots. Love it!

Thank you! I am originally from California but I’ve lived in Florida for almost 30 years which may account for the drawl. It just snuck into my speech over time. I don’t really notice it but my family back in Cali tell me I have a slight southern drawl. I guess it’s a combination of the two. 😂

Great video Alex, I can understand what you mean about filming a feeding video, I only have me phone to work with at present so it's kinda difficult trying to get different angles and views, so the over the top if pretty much all I can do lol.

Thank you! They’re so stunning when they’re freshly molted. When I first started the hobby I had a hard time believing some of the tarantulas I saw in pictures were real. Now I own some of those species. 😂

@@TarantulaHaven thanks for the quick reply! I’m a high school math teacher. I just had my oldest tarantula N. Chromatus pass away. I got her when she was a sling in summer of 2008, so she lived for 15 years. She had a happy life.

I’m sorry to hear she passed away but it sounds like she lived a good life. 15 years is a long time to have a pet like that. I’ve got a G. rosea that is about that age as well. She’s still going strong. 👍🏼
