The "I did not mean it at all, I was just upset and used the worst word that came to mind" is probably the most acceptable reasoning I've heard, and it felt genuine.
Who's here after watching pewds and ken rip other people's apology videos? And I have to agree, this is how all apology videos should go. Talk about the incident, acknowledging the mistake, apologize to the affected group and just promise to be better. Super simple, yet direct to the point

As an impressionable white kid who had never really seen racism first hand, to see someone I looked up to clearly state that this was wrong and that he was ashamed of himself really had an impact on my understanding of appropriate language. To see an idol of mine mess up and take accountability definitely influenced the way I handled accountability in my own life.
As an impressionable black kid I don't accept his apology. He definitely says it off stream and I don't associate with people who do. Like how you probably won't associate with people who constantly make fun of your mother. Even if it's a "joke" and "they don't mean it" it's just annoying.

Years later, I feel like this was actually the best thing that has happened to pewdiepie, this was such a turning point and it really benefited him in the long run.

To be honest i have never seen this kind of apology video it sweet and he actually apologises instead of lying about it and fake crying like other youtubers. This is the main reason i love Pewdiepie because he is so sweet with everything and if he apologises he means it.

I'm today's years old when I knew about this. i saw a short video ( it was a comedy skit where pewdiepie had a son playing then his friend told him to search pewdiepies bridge incident and PewDiePie sent his friend to teach his son's friend a lesson) thanks to that man
