OMG Donna I am so sorry to hear this. Of all the people on RU-vid you are the most selfless person. I have been hooked on you since I started watching you over a two years ago. You asked me when we met at Disney why I sent you that scratcher tool, and honestly at the time I didn't have a reason- just that I was moved/lead too- With that being said I have thought long and hard about that question since meeting you. My response is that YOU helped me in ways that I really didn't realize at the time and still don't at times- YOU are open to share and help at any time when needed. YOU inspire so many including myself to help others and have touched anyone that has had the pleasure of knowing you. YOU ARE REAL!!! That is why I sent that tool. I cannot catch many of the lives, it is very rare, AND my financial situation has changed (for the worse, which is why I have not had many videos). BUT I am joining the first tier, because although I can barely catch a live (It is always during my family time- once a week- and we are off social, since it is our only time we can all get together), even catching a live here and there, or even part of a live, each live gives so much, they give support, education, creativity, etc., and are impactful to me and I am sure, to our community. YES my budget is tighter than I could have ever imagined. BUT I know where the wiggle room is, it is in me cutting down on a monster, maybe get a small coffee instead of a medium or large. If there is a will to be a part of the village movement, then there is a way. We just have to find the way. .99 a month, $11.88 a year, is something that I feel is worth sacrificing one of my drinks. And listen, I believe most of us here are doing the HOP. Take $1 from Self Care a month, because I for one DO believe that these lives are part of Self Care, because they are giving us knowledge we need and want. And if you are not doing the HOP, take it from $1 a day, once a month. Donna has consistently supported this village, it is time we support Donna. #itsDonnasturn

Donna,I agree with you 100%. You put your heart and soul into everything you do for your RU-vid channel. It ain't easy at times,but you triumph over every adversity that's thrown at you. I am so proud of you for standing up for yourself. Your Villagers(especially me)will continue to support you,no matter what. Thank you for the clarification. I will continue to support by watching ads when I am able to and wish you the best as being offered membership levels in addition to subscribers from RU-vid can be a good thing for content creators. I will do more once I am able too. Gates can be a good thing and sometimes need to be explained to be understood. You have done great things and definitely need to do what works best for you! My apologies if I upset you or others as I was simply wanting to make sure I was understanding everything in the right way. Some parts I was and others I didn’t. I feel so sad that we live in a world where content creators have to explain themselves to this depth. This is ridiculous. It’s more than fair for the time and effort that you put in daily for content that has helped many of us in more ways than you will probably ever even know Donna. And for those that can’t afford it…you just don’t get the live. (It will be a miss for some) but hey…maybe we could work on a freebie that Donna graciously provided and save for the next month! 😊use the tools we ware given from the daily videos! ❤

Several of us are members of other creator’s channels for extra or additional content. I’m currently considering what value I could offer when I’m eligible to have memberships so I understand the work that goes into content creation. A membership to get access to an interactive Live that has been open to all until now knocked the slats out from under me. I have become a member to a channel usually at the lowest levels to have access to extra content not content that I had been able to access already. No, $.99 isn’t a fortune and you are definitely not going to be getting rich off that and if I could afford it, I’d subscribe to a higher level. But now even this will be unavailable to me and those on a tighter budget than I. I hope you can see it from that perspective.

I am sitting here trying to wrap my mind around this insanity. I don't comment often, and in general, I try to avoid conflict and drama. But this has truly been bothering me a lot. My heart is breaking as I sit here and listen to one of the most caring, generous, loving human beings on the planet defend herself against hateful, mean, ugly, disgusting comments. I absolutely believe that everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, to give an opinion with the sole intent to hurt someone is just so wrong on every level....and to do it time and time again should be criminal. Unfortunately, I can't pay to see your Sunday's lives, as I have a low income and the 4 rabbits that need to be fed. My pets always come first. I will miss your lives because I've learned a lot even when I've just been a lurker. 💖 I will support you by watching your ads, even when you don't get a lot from the ads I will still watch them until I have a better income. You are giving us free videos every day (AND we are also learning things from the videos) and you only have time for 1 live, so I understand that your members are getting them. I can't wait to become a member one day when I have a bigger income.

I appreciate everything everyone in this community does, especially creators like you. I recently started watching budgeting videos again, more US based creators this time and everyone I watch now seems to have your challenges/freebies. So naturally I had to check out your channel and subscribe to you! Which I know hasn't been all that long but I do want to say thank you for putting all that time and effort into creating all the freebies that you have created, as well as all of your videos. You said we sit on the other side of the screen and take and take. You started your channel. We didn't make you and nobody told you to make freebies. Hi Donna, I’m so so sorry anyone gave you a hard time about memberships. I fully understand the reasoning behind it. I can attest to how much time making content for RU-vid takes. I had to step away from making budgeting videos because I was spread too thin between 2 jobs, Etsy and being a momma. I don’t comment much but this budgeting community is by far the most generous group of people I’ve come across. Greedy is not something I would use to describe you or any of the other channels I’ve come across. Freebies, giveaways, encouragement, inspiration-nothing greedy in these. I can’t afford the memberships but I would never begrudge a budgeter or viewer that can. That is part of what this community is about. So sorry for the cruel treatment you received. 😢

Hi Donna. I listened to this on my way home from the pool this morning and I couldn't wait to get home to join. For one thing, no way am I not going to be there on Sunday nights!😊 But, also you do so much for this Village of ours that I can't understand how anyone could question your motives. I am a member of four other channels that I joined because I enjoy their content. I have never questioned their motives or thought they were being greedy. Joining a channel as a member is your own free will. Nobody is making you do it. Sorry for the little rant. I just don't know how anyone could call YOU selfish, of all people. Hey Donna, people are cruel because they can sit behind a screen. I started budgeting because I saw your videos and I have passed that on to my 15 year old who is now on his £10k goal. I don’t normally watch the lives, I put them on and listen whilst doing housework and they have brought a lot of information and knowledge. Problem is, the people who are complaining will no doubt have Amazon prime, Netflix or some other subscription, what they don’t understand is paying 8 times the lowest subscription with you, to watch videos….them videos don’t bring knowledge. Your lives and videos DO bring knowledge so I would give up Amazon prime JUST to pay for a subscription, think because you speak people, keyboard warriors are not cool.

Hi Donna, I am so sorry you had to make this video you do so much for the community I want you to know it is really appreciated If it wasn't for finding your channel about a year ago, I don't know where I would be today you have helped me more then you know I have been able to pay off a couple of credit cards working on the third one . I was so depressed when I found your channel. I am legally blind not totally blind meaning I can see just have to read things close up and have large print I am not allowed to drive plus I have MS Multipole Scorses, but I can still walk just have to be extra careful because of my vision and I have something called drop foot ware I sometimes drag my right foot I have been thinking about explaining to everyone about me being legally blind ever since you went to help your best friends daughter and you have a question and then stopped and decided not to ask so it's been on my mind awhile anyway I tried to join your members group for some reason all it does is spin am I doing something wrong I click on join then the membership I chose and it just spins I don't know if it's you tube or everyone is joining at once 😊 I sincerely want to thank you so much for all you help I have missed a few of the lives because I have been helping my daughter move out of my house . I've watched the replays sorry for the poor punctuation 😊I wish I had just half of your talent you do such a great job on your videos and your challenges have a great day love how you put people in there place I bet you were a great officer 😊 ❤❤❤

Ve had some unexpected events, recently. My fixed income is taking a beat down. I will need to step back make needed adjustments and see where I am. Then maybe join, but for a while I will miss the lives. I have really appreciated the Village Hop and did manage to stay up with it, until recently. The Hop has given me a way to set goals, find a teaching tool for my family to understand why " financial safety nets" are important. I hope to be back to the Sunday Lives at some point. Until then, thank you for the Village Hop. Next year's Hop sounds just as exciting, I hope yo be able to be a part of it.

I can't believe people would call you greedy! I have NEVER thought that any YT Content Creator was greedy! I'm sorry that the person you were talking about names! You go girl!!!!!!!!!!! NO ONE is forced to become a member! You are SO generous! I sometimes think that if I download more than a few freebies I am being greedy! Thank you for all you do! Great response and sorry that you had to make one! One final thought - by having to join in order to watch the lives is most definitely NOT gatekeeping! Donna, i think you are one of the best in the community, and not because you give us freebies, or advice, etc. But because you are a confident and powerful women. A membership is an awesome accomplish, and you should be so proud of everything you have accomplished. We all dont have to agree with one another, we can all do thing differently. But what we do on our own channels is our own. I looked at the options and for me spending on a membership was less than spending on a streaming service i use maybe once a month.
