Hello, Welcome to my new Automotive based RU-vid channel. Here, you will see myself and my group of friends working on cars, trucks and whatever else may come our way. You will also join us on our crazy adventures, insane builds, and everything else in between.
This video is all about my 1978 Ford F-150 that my family and friends have helped me restore over the past four years. This truck will be on this channel a lot. We picked this up about two weeks before I started as a freshman in high school. Needless to say, it was not in anywhere near the condition it is in today. We tore this thing all the way down to the frame, and rebuilt it from the ground up. It took a long time to finish, but the end result was well worth the wait.
I hope you enjoyed the video, Thank you for watching!

Found a 79 ranch truck with everything i wanted, duel tanks 400 4 speed manual 4x4. cant wait to get her on the road.

Good looking truck, I’ve got two SingleCab Shortbed 4x4 Dentside Fords but mine are from ‘77 & ‘79. They’re both identical except obviously the grille’s, they’re different colors and one’s an auto and one’s a 4speed.

VERY cool dude. I'm looking at getting a similar truck since broncos of that era are so expensive. Would be cool to see a cost breakdown and let us know where you get some of the reproduction parts

Their is nothing like the C-6 Trans with automatic kick down / passing gear , stand on it and stay in 2 gear until you let up off the gas a touch and hit the gas again , will shift into 3rd and jettison all fuel

'78 Ford F150 Ranger XLT has "dinky little mirrors"? From the factory they damn sure didn't. I've restored many '73-'79 Ford F-series trucks.

I'm glad Daddy help me build it, now let me see if I can strip this auto out and tear it all to hell. Does not even no how to open the hood, probably don't no where the dip stick for the oil is! Give it 4 to 6 months, DADDDDIEEE it's making a sound, having trouble shifting toooooooo. DAMN Kid's today!

@sergeantmasson3669
@sergeantmasson3669 2 года назад
One Eye, not just the Lariat model. The "speedway" trim was an option for all Ford F-series models '73-'79. I've restored, and/or owned over 100 of those trucks over the years. I still own 4 today that have been fully restored. One being my '78 F350 XLT Supercab car carrier that has an all-aluminum Chevron car-carrier bed. It has a 1970 460 engine for power because 400 engines were unreliable/underpowered, bad MPG, garbage.
@sergeantmasson3669
@sergeantmasson3669 2 года назад
Some statements, that you're making, about this truck, are false.
@sergeantmasson3669
@sergeantmasson3669 2 года назад
Ford 400 "335" series engines were garbage. A Ford "385" series engine is easily swapped in as a replacement. Far more HP options and far more reliability/longevity too. I have a '77 F150 with the "Explorer" package option. It's the same colors as this "Ranger XLT" truck. I bought it new, and it has a "385" series 460 engine that I modified with using strictly Ford performance components.
@sergeantmasson3669
@sergeantmasson3669 2 года назад
Speedo cable is the same for all '73-'79 F-series speedometers. WTH are you wasting time and money on that 400 engine for? A Ford 429-460 engine easily replaces it. 429-460 engines are far more reliable and have far more HP possibilities than that 400 ever will.
