Don't be confused Ashlena😅. It's not not an Aurora composition and arrangement. It's kinda visual action driven. And very orchestral (go to war) "march" ish. It also has an ascending modulation towards the end. Which Aurora would never do ln her own songs. And the last part is very vocal "belting". Something Aurora usually only does in smaller pieces. She is more about varying dynamics. It sounds like an arrangement type that Celin Dion etc. would love. But it also have Aurora vocal influences all over it. The little"folk" ish sounding melodious ornaments, are so' her. So they have obviously let her put her personal stamp on it😊.
I’m with you on this, when I first heard it I didn’t think it sounded like her. They put on effect of her voice for the whole song. But I’ve grown to love this song and the show is pretty good too. It was number one on Netflix in 160+ countries for a few weeks. For Into the Unknown, I’d suggest also listening to Aurora’s version. It’s only her for the whole song and it’s better than the original IMO.
Yeah, the effect on her voice is what I really don't like. And yes, here is the Aurora-only version of Into The Unknown: Into the Unknown - AURORA (AURORA only version) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6xA7b3DcNZo.htmlsi=lVodXr6s12hFyjAf
You need to do Aurora’s cover version of Into The Unknown.. She only features in the background at the Oscar performance (she is still the best singer there though).
this song is played in the outro of one episode of the show (episode 7), and with the way netflix skip outtro, a lot of people didn't know about this song. (I agree it doesn't sound like aurora, they definitely did something with her voice in production) note: she also sang for the movie "The Secret Garden," the book i think was also one of aurora favorite.
It says featuring because its not her song. She just sings it. She had virtually no control here. The production is done by someone else than the ones who usually work with her and they definitely did some stuff to her voice. Aurora did her own version of "Into the Unknown" and that one I do like. She only did it because she wanted to, which I like 😄 Ooh, and "The Secret Garden" those two are the only ones I really like among the "commercial" ones.
good morning, good aurora tuesday. she didn't composed it, the both composers where sooo glad that aurora accepted the job. you should do her 'secret garden' from her own channel, really. it has an amazing backstory. and again: 'into the unknown': take her version from her own channel!
@@ladycarolinacharfuelaneraz8618 actually it's about movie soundtracks. but yes, animal soul is one of the best songs of aurora. i mean, they are all very good and better.
Both of those are excellent. Secret Garden kinda nails the assignment so to speak. And while I find the "official" Disney version of Into the Unknown....fine. Aurora's version is a full order of magnitude better. It's both more subtle and epic. And at the very end of the 2nd chorus her voice does this sliding glissando _eeeeeh_ rising tone thing leading into the bridge that just sends shivers up my spine every time. :)
I think it is Aurora just singing like any other pop singer. I'd never heard it before, just looked it up, and it is not written or composed by Aurora, and she just added the singing. I suppose it is not dissimilar to the Scarborough Fair cover, the Hans Zimmer, Frozen Planet II, Disney Frozen 2, where Aurora just adds the voice. We can see how quickly she can cover other songs, like the Imagine Dragons, Believer cover. I think it is a good counterpoint, to illustrate just how different Aurora is from other singers in her genre. That without her creativity, and independent delivery, she'd just sound similar to many other singers. But her unique vision, has meant she has taken a very different path to them.
This song wins a little more when you don't watch the video. I think that everything that goes on in the video catches one's attention more than the song itself. I hear it mostly when I'm sitting in my car and driving from A to B. You can clearly hear that it's Aurora singing and I'm happy that she's been chosen to sing it for this series. Despite the fact that you only hear it once in the series, it opens the door to Aurora's world for all those who didn't know about her. However, I agree with everyone here who writes that it is not a typical Aurora style song and that, perhaps because of that, it sounds unlike what we are used to hearing from her. Into the unknown isn't from her either, but here we have the mysterious fairy tale world that some conflate Aurora with, and that's why most people think it's just sooo like Aurora. You'll understand what I mean when you hear her version of it. I can hardly wait for the next "Happy Aurora Tuesday" Thanks for another good start to the day.❤
The perfo at the Oscar was desapointing IMO, you'll see. Happy that you do her full version too. About this one for me it does sound Aurora, it's more on the spead of delevry that is so different from what we are use to hear. Thank you and have a good day 🙂
I think that was intentional. "Not sounding Aurora" I mean. If you have ever listen to anime movies, they sound very distinct. That Japanese, high pitch, almost thin voices. Especially the female voices are unique for this art form. I think that's what they where going for here.
It sounds like Aurora through and through - to me! It's everything else in the production that affect the impression. Not what Aurora herself would produce. But the production team was VERY pleased to have Aurora for the song!
I do get what people are saying though....there is subtle compression and EQ sibilance on her voice that does make her sound a bit different than usual. But I happen to love Animal Collective, a band that plays with vocal processing like it's an instrument all it's own, so I like messing with vocal sounds. Music should be fun and creative. It doesn't all have to be someone's entirely unprocessed bare vocal to be legit.
For the requests for Secret Garden. That's the one I forgot on the original list I gave you. For the 2020 British fantasy drama film "The Secret Garden." This song is Nami song, the female character with red hair you see all along the video. The lyrics are for her, the song being written by Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli, like you said. It's not really Aurora, it's not her music, her sound. But still I enjoy a lot this song, perfect to go through walls (of water, preferably...🙂). Anyway, our sails are set for a whole week, now, I guess.🙂👍
From what I’ve gathered Aurora is a huge anime fan and loves Japanese culture She’s worn her hair like a character in one of her favorite anime shows and has also done it in Japanese traditional styles One Piece is one of the most popular Japanese anime stories world wide
I remember discovering your channel when you did your first ever Aurora reaction. I think it was It Happened Quiet live at The Current. And I remember instantly liking your vibe. But it's so funny and cool to see how your "set" has evolved over that time. You're now rocking a fully legit RU-vidr setup! It looks great! :)
I totally agree. Your channel has grown and aurora Tuesdays was the best idea you've had. You have more and more fans. I just saw a live performance of her, it's on YT at the " britt's week war child 2024 " and I would like to recommend it to you. Private only, no reaction, you will love it, for sure. Not the best video quality but over 1 hour long and she sings "the Conflict of the Mind" live....wow. I would like to put the link here, but then my message disappears. 😊
Into the unknown... please do Aurora's version. It is so much better than the original... in the original song, Aurora is "only" doing the aaaahaaahaahhhaaaaaaaaaa in the background.
I think there is background sound when she sing that can do this effect you talk about. You can see difference when this sound is background and when it is not :). Some parts are multilayered (at last I think so) but is nothing new. And of course it is for big TV production and can be somewhat more produced, but I think most difference is this background sound. Anyway it is very cool and it is great song. Ps. Aurora sing it but it is not her song and composition that is why she is featured :).
She sounds a bit different because her voice is much more processed in this track than she tend to do herself. I guess she didn't have much control over the post processing since it's not her song (and thus the featuring Aurora)
She recorded this while touring Latin America. Additionally, I think she sounds different because she is singing from Nami's point of view (the one with the orange hair), she is somehow acting and singing. 8:07
I agree. I like the song but the first time I heard it I had no context and I would never have thought this was aurora. There's some kind of effect on her voice it does not sound exactly like her but after multiple listings I can definitely hear her voice but the song has been finished by a team other than her own so the effects they put on it are not the regular effects she uses and it makes her sound slightly off model
Great reaction as always, I actually like this song from the Netflix series. I did not like the Frozen performance, nothing to do with Aurora, watch and you'll understand hopefully. As always thanks for Aurora Tuesdays 💚
Aurora has over 20 of her own songs in, over 30 movies and series. Like Blacklist, The 100, Hanna, Grey's Anatomy and many more. In addition she has been hired to sing other composers songs many times as well. Like Frozen 2, One Piece, Frozen planet BBC, etc. She also have some music she has done for Norwegian television series. I actually recommend reacting to the song "Stjernestøv" (Stardust) Aurora sings in her home town dialect. the song was made for a children's christmas calender show in 2020(link at the end) Producers love her voice it seems like :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4QjHpi9hYWE.html
I recognized Aroura's voice in this song. It is not a song that she wrote, directed or produced (I'm assuming) her sound is coming from the production and direction that the writing from the creator. The recording and effects could have effects as well. We are use to "Aurora" live and being in control of what "she does". This isn't her creation....just like "Frozen" obviously , that in movie there wasn't a major song like this so in different scenarios we will hear different aspects of Auroa's voice❤ it is a great performance for this show. Aurora never fails to amaze me.
I've been so out of the loop lately. I definitely need to get in on these polls. I'm not a fan of One Piece but I always enjoy anything Aurora gets involved in. The songs she did for the games Assasins Creed, and Sky: Children of the Light are beautiful. I absolutely love that she lends her voice to animations and video games. it's so fitting knowing how much she loves gaming and anime. She is featured because she didn't write the music, only the lyrics. Also: I hope you get a chance to read through the Aurora book. There is so much beauty in the book. I haven't read it all because I'm saving it for when I need it the most, but it's just stunning. I'd still like to recommend the Gullruten version of "The Woman I Am". It's so beautiful. (Also, that's a beautiful vinyl. I don't listen to the band, but I appreciate the art.)
I also want to agree with others and mention that as far as “Into the Unknown” is concerned, Aurora’s own cover of it is really the best version, as the Oscar performance was underwhelming and the original from the movie is typical “broadway musical” Disney music (well done, but…). Perhaps a comparison of the movie original with Aurora’s version would be a better reaction idea. Just a thought.
Ah, sorry you didn't love it, I do, lol. Perhaps the song isn't her exact style, but the message, that could be an Aurora message. As for the Into the Unknown, Aurora doesn't have much presence in it, but of course, her part is the BEST part. Definitely do Aurora's cover where she sings the whole song, it is much better than the original, IMHO. Thanks for another awesome Aurora Tuesday, have a great week.
she didnt write or produce it. she just performed it, thus, featuring Aurora. i love the song, but it is not produced in a way she would for sure. know nothing about this show/anime though. she also did the same for the Assassins creed video game, also great song but produced differently.
Hello Ashley! I am with you on the voice. Especially in the beginning. But the song have good lyrics. Strong. I like the series. Thanks for the Aurora Tuesdays ❤❤❤❤
I remember my first hearing of this ... I was waiting to hear Aurora start singing and then it ended. So much processing on the vocals it could be anybody singing it. Too many of Aurora's 'collaborations' go this way 🙄
Happy Aurora tuesday everyone! I dont like one piece, I tried to watch it once and I absolutely hated it, sooo bad, like super bad, but whatever, I loved that song, Aurora vocals sound amazing, it sounds beautiful, its so weird I didnt have any problem to recognize Aurora, maybe im more used to her voice.
I love the song (and the show). But I thing that is rubbing you wrong is that Aurora has had very little artistic freedom here. She had to sing it as it was written. And she does a great job of that. But it is not really her expression. So it is her voice, but not her soul. Doesn't mean she didn't like singing it, I'm sure she did.
She's just singing, and had nothing to do with the production. I kinda like the song, but not the production. It's a LOT of mush. Like..."My God, it's a lot." (You might get what I did there. If not you will eventuallly. lol)
You beat me to it! I had to sleep on my reaction to her new unreleased War Child song, before it came to me. She might, as she said, enjoy performing it - but, I suspect it will remain "unreleased". When she gets pushed too far, Aurora knows how to "build some type of skin" and let off steam!
@@monkeyjames8401 Haha! I'm suprised I was the first. She turned it into a saying before anyone even heard it. lol I would be surprised if she won't release it tbh. She's been sneaky as usual, and used a lot of the lyrics in many of her posts on social media lately. I truly hope she will. Instant gooosebumps all over my body when she belted it out.
Aurora does sound a little different here, she probably didn't have much say in the production on this project. The song is from the point of view of the character Nami, so maybe they wanted Aurora's voice to sound like Nami's voice? Also, I think Aurora will try different singing styles as time goes on, and that's great. She's a wonderful singer and performer 💖👍
