Matt, the cleanest wiring install for the fan swap would be to get the factory relay block from the fan equipped trucks and SUV’s. It piggy backs on the stock fuse blocks. Pin the 2 relay trigger wires to the pcm, flash the pcm with HP tuners to enable the fans and your all set. All stock stuff with no rigged up crap.
definitely should do it this way. the PCM can trigger the fans based on ECT (of course), but can also trigger the fans based on the A/C compressor pressure which will make your A/C work a lot better while idling, you also get the ability to disable the fans after a specified MPH.
I don't currently need any parts but this really makes me want to go to the junkyard just to look around. It's interesting even if you don't need anything.
The Harry's in Hazleton is HUGE and there's a large section of GM trucks, but...they have the GM car section way, way, way, way in the back of the yard. Prepare for quite a hike if your need GM car parts.
Can't wait till you do the fans. I myself have a set I've had for several months. Love to see your install on those and getting them to work with the tune or you making your on harness to work.
Harry's You Pull it helped me save and completely restore and mod a 99 GTP, 05 Grand Cherokee, and 99 Cherokee. The place is a gold mine for older vehicles! Lorenzo's Pizza near Jim Thorpe on the way to Hazelton is a must!
this inspired me to go to the junkyard and I'm glad I went to the bigger one out of the two in my town. Brought just a flathead and a philips head screw driver. Luckily got a like new air filter, a amp, new key fob, a few plastic pieces and a whole bunch of fuses for $80 after all of the fee's. Thinking about adfding a cigarette lighter to my runk as it seems easy to do.
The truck you grabbed the fans from had a hydroboost system..good grab for that and the brake pedal. FYI..That green ac van could possibly have an 80e. I got mine from a cargo van.
Love these two junkyard videos so far I really enjoy them and cant find any like them on youtube you should definetly think about making more videos like these
You wouldn't of happen to know of a 14-16 scion tc preferably black by chance. I'm out on eastern long island NY and need a whoke front clip, but we don't have any pick a parts on the island unfortunately
Your cool as fuck for remembering what your followers asked for and grabbing it. I got a Yukon the other day, got the computer on it and the PCM had been flashed to a Chevy S10 -_- come to find out it got impounded in 2005 and the guy that sold it to me bought it from the impound in 2016 with no front seats and no guage cluster, so when u run the Vin the last time it was registered was 04 with 40000 miles. The windows are tinted double black and u can see where the cops had their computers and radios
Except for time experience , how would you go about learning all these upgrade tips n tricks ; on the next Gen Tahoe n Burb , 2010 /2011 ??? Thx for reply Matt ...
those burned cars look like arson to get rid of fingerprints especially on 58 Impala the first year was definitely chopped or what did they take roof trim off with two ft of roof
Long time listener first time caller lol so bit of an odd question but I was wondering So I've got an 06 gmc sierra 1500 denali that's got an autostart brand remote starter system in it. Is it possible to use the existing wiring in it and update and upgrade the system or an i just gonna have to install a whole brand new system? I'd like to switch to say a compustar if able. Thanks in advance.
You wont find a 4L80e core laying on the ground because anyone going to the trouble to pull it will take it because they need it to replace a 4L60e just like you.
Wow. Harry's. I got here every weekend. I live about 20 minutes away! That hill is a climb isn't it? I know of another lesser known u pull north of there. DM me and I'll give you the name.
Do newer cars go to a different junkyard cause you really don't see this year cars also do the good engines go to like a depot cause there's got to be tons of camaros and mustang crashed so its like where are those cars and engines it must have something to do with insurance that's why the only ls that are there are truck an van ls
Hey man you can probably make one thats better than a manufacturer could make. It is actually really easy and you can costume fit it in anything cause your building it I made a 12" sub box with a port and it sounds amazing. Good place to start is Google just asking simple questions you don't know then it all comes easy
Can you get that hinge cover passenger side rear center seat with that spring loaded thing when seat folds down there was a good one in black z71 Tahoe please! Let me know I'll buy it!
Hey Matt I know you are a wizard for knowledge on these body style GMs so I have a 2006 Duramax without steering wheel controls do you know if it’s wired for it already and would be plug and play?? Thanks wanting radio controls on the wheel
I was wondering if you can get me parts from the junk yard for my 2004 Chevy Tahoe? Please message me back I will pay for the parts and shipping as well.
Matt, on the third gens you should take the widow wiper module or whatever it is called. Its the oddly shaped plastic thing affixed to the firewall. Mine went out and I could not find a new one. Heck I couldn’t even find the part number. I found two third gens at the local junk yard and took them both. Good luck brother, great videos!
I was actually planning on going to a scrapyard tomorrow. Thank you for your videos and your tips. I learned a lot that I didn't know before when going to a scrapyard. 😎👍
I love the JY. I remember when they were lined with rows of 3rd Gens. That’s when I got my power seat in my car. When it was a bunch of 3rd Gens I just had mine but wasn’t deep into em like I am now. But I was able to find everything for my 91 RS Convertible. Poor burnt Camaro😢
That newer Tahoe did look like a police interceptor package no wonder people grabbed the rear end is already beefed up. Those rear speaker boxes are actually nice and would bump the bass for sure ideally with an aftermarket amo and bass control because if you have the Bose system it already sort of drowns the bass at times
Yo Matt longtimefan here,if you come across another set of e-fans for cheap snag it I'll buy them off you, I believe all GMT800 models from 05-06 have the e-fans,and another mod you might like for the Tahoe is the 05-06 rear glass hatch.
I do the same kind of junkyard shopping for upgrades. My '76 Valiant sedan has HD cooling (shroud, clutch fan, 26" big core rad), 12" rotor swap, rear sway bar, passenger exterior mirror, trunk light, police ticket light, the Edelbrock intake & carb....all from junkyards
I’m looking to LS swap my 88 gta with (probably) a 5.3, i’ve been looking for project videos to watch the whole process as this will be my first time, do u have any videos showing the main steps you took during your process? Or do you know of any channels that do? I’ve been looking and haven’t seen much but I do like how you explain things. Thanks
Jeez down in Cali all of those Yukon’s Tahoe’s Silverados everything goes quick a 6.0 motor doesn’t even last a couple hours here, lucky to have so many in such good shape
The bose speakers are 6.5 inch, but they are 2 ohm. They wouldn't work without the Amp to power them, the Amp would not work without an adapter, or a bose programmed radio. The radio would have to be Vin programmed to your truck.
I have that factory NAV in my 06 Yukon with the updated Y91 Lux amp upgrade; great sounding system. If you have a chance and can get me those little black clip inserts from the rear sill plate I'd appreciate it and I'll pay you the shipping cost. Thanks!
