Thank you for sharing your journey. Can you talk about “strawberry leg” situation and tips for helping us pale girls with the legs. I’m going to continue researching this laser removal for the pits for sure!

1) yes what is strawberry leg? and 2) yes being a pasty one sucks. hair is less noticeable on tans.
@emilyjamison784
@emilyjamison784 4 года назад
The best product I've found for strawberry legs is a body lotion with lactic acid (my favorite is the CVS knock off for Amlactin.) You do have to be consistent with it but it works! (It also is the ONLY thing that has worked for my keratosis pilaris.)
@irishsphinx778
@irishsphinx778 4 года назад
oooh19 1) strawberry leg is basically tiny pockets of color in each hair follicle. So instead of one shade going down, you look polka-dotted with tiny darker flecks. On pale skin, it really stands out. Sometimes exfoliating helps....but not always.

I have this device! And I've been using it since December (granted not every single week as I get busy and forget sometimes) and so far I have notices patches where the hair is a lot finer and some places where it seems to have stopped growing back. For reference, I have light skin and black thick hair. It's been working for me so far, the only downside to the Kenzzi device I've found is that in the past few months it's laser head (lack of a better term) has started to get really hot while doing my legs.

Great question! Random question: have you ever done/ considered doing a video where you detail all of the types of hair products that are out there? To make it not as long you could split it into two- one for in shower/ treatments and one for styling? I didn’t know about half of the products that you use until I started watching your videos, and I would love to know about products in general and what they’re good for! Also, maybe you could include your favorite high end and drugstore versions of each product? Thanks, I love you!!!

I just got my Kenzzi about a month ago, and so far I love the results. As someone with thick dark hair that grows quickly I couldn’t fathom paying salon prices when I honestly didn’t think there would be enough of a difference to justify the cost. I don’t expect anything will make my hair stop growing at all but if I can shave less than once a day that’s a win for an at home device. So far after about 4 sessions the growth has slowed down on the areas I’ve treated which are my bikini, underarms and legs. For me, the legs show the fastest results but I will caution you to moisturize after each session if you have sensitive skin. Maybe it’s the area where I live or my specific skin type but I experienced super itchy dry patches a few days after my third session but it was nothing some lotion or body oils couldn’t fix. If I’m honest I was slacking on my skin care so incorporating some self care right after I use the ipl is nice.

Just ordered with the code and it also gave me free shipping! I did the in office laser hair removal years ago on my chin and underarms because I got ingrown hairs fairly badly. It was incredibly expensive for those two areas, I never got the fallout and always got the red welts/bumps with every treatment. It did slow the growth and I don't get the ingrown hairs now. I'm hoping this will work on my legs and give me at least the same results. **I just wanted to mention that I've been to get facials more recently and they noted that I'd previously had laser hair removal, they offer that as well, but also noted my PCOS. She was open with me that hormone issues would hinder laser hair removal results and was surprised the original office didn't warn me it probably wouldn't work. But the number of years in between made me unsure if I'd even been diagnosed at that time.

Does the Kenzzi damage/side effects to your skin in any way ? Like brown marks, damage your skin if tanning out in the sun, or skin cancer?
@jenmalfoy215
@jenmalfoy215 4 года назад
The only side effects I’ve seen are dry patches but I have allergies to things like pollen one grass whatcha irritate my skin easily. Using a nice moisturizer after each session took care of that one right away. On my legs, I noticed a few spots that looked like ingrown hairs after my first two seasons but those went away after that. I think it was fair that was already trapped under the skin just coming out and finally shedding. As for brown marks I have actually seen a reduction in hyperpigmentation on my skin, old scars have even started to fade. These are just the results I have seen in the last month or so from personal experience, but I hope that helps.

I’ve had my eyebrows done with electrolysis. It took a 30 minute session a few weeks apart and then a 15 minute session every few weeks, and then many months apart sporadically for regrowth. One of the best purchases of my life. I can pluck but it would give me very painful ingrown hairs on my forehead. The whole permanent change cost me less than $300 total, but you do have to be patient and go back to the spa every few weeks, and later every few months. This was at Laser Skin Care in Greensboro and I highly recommend them! The pain was about the same as plucking, maybe a little sharper but a short pain per pluck and not a lasting pain.

My legs, knee down, barely grows now it has just patches where a couple of hairs grow. But my thighs still get quite a lot of hair just nothing as much as it was pre laser. My private area still grows but also not as much as before and it only went back to growing more around 2017 when I started going in office twice a year only. I noticed the most change on my arms cause they got only 4-6 treatments and they grow way less than before. With the laser hair removal I honestly forget for about it for a few days which is really nice

I get where you're coming from...my brother commenting on that he could see the BLONDE hair on my chin and neck embarrassed me into shaving daily. Didn't help that and just got darker and ingrown after that. That's why I went for the in office sessions that were $800 an area, literally that much for the chin area and again for underams. The under $200 for this one is a much better investment and I've seen several people talking about their journey with this one.

So what do you mean when you say the hair grows back? Is it after office treatments too? I have quite pale skin and very dark hair and have been struggling with making the decision to shave, wax, or laser. And if it really is worth the money. They say it kills the folicle and once its gone it cant grow back... But it does? And how long did you do office treatments? And how permanent are the results really?
@sarahhorn50

Samantha Something Hey Samantha, I’m like you with pale skin and super dark hair (and an extra bonus of having A LOT of hair) and it’s very obvious if I haven’t shaved for a couple of days. Even when I have shaved, I still get dark marks where the hair has been cut, and because my hair is so thick, waxing HURTS. I had three sessions in office so far and yes the hair does grow back, just not as much. But for me, even after my first session, the reduction in hair alone was worth it. My hair was also thinner, and some of the hairs turned blonde. For the three sessions I had (once/ month for three months - had to stop because of covid), I hardly had to shave in between sessions. I think the general consensus is that you need to get 8-10 sessions for your initial treatment, and then 1-2 times per year after that to keep the hair growth down. The area of your body matters too - it’s most effective on armpits and least effective on areas like your upper lip and “snail trail”. You’ll probably still have to shave etc. to be properly hairless, it will just take way less time because you have so much less hair and you’ll do it less frequently. Hope this helps! Overall I would highly recommend :)

doesn't this make skin more sensitive to the sun(blisters)? then you go from covering up due to hair to covering up due to sun exposure so what's the point?

I love the idea of at home laser hair removal but I’m on week 8 or 9 with the Kenzzi and I really haven’t noticed much of a difference at all. I’m a good candidate coloring wise too, I have dark brown hair and fair skin. I keep worrying it’s because of user error, but I am following the directions. 😔

I have the Philips lazer and it says to not sunbathe one day before or two days after treatment. However normal every day sunlight eg walking to your car isnt an issue though. Wear sunblock as usual. It's to start in winter as you have more time for treatment to remove hair before summer x

I'd be worried, if the hair gets finer because of the laser, wouldn't the risk of ingrown hair go up? Near my knee I have some hairs so fine, they all don't even manage to break through the last layer of skin. Wouldn't there be a risk of that happening everywhere if I'd use laser?

I did some research because I wanted to order the ipl machine. Unfortunately if you look into the brand a bit more it doesn't come up as good. So I didn't order it, I went with a different brand that was only €60,- for the same machine 😳 Everyone should make there own decisions but I would recommend reading some reviews before buying.

Thanks for your response! I actually noticed the same thing in January and reached out to Kenzzi to ask, because safety and efficacy are important. And I wasn't going to use it if it was just 3rd party labeling. They manufacture in their own factory with specific safety standards. Their outer casing molds are the same as others on the market, unfortunately, but their tech inside is carefully watched throughout the process and is superior to others on the market. So basically, it looks similar on the outside, but is not on the inside. If you have additional questions, I encourage you to speak with their customer service.
@UnboundedArtandCrafts

I understand that the inside might be different. And I'm not saying the cheaper one will work just as well. But, the one I choose had good reviews and full product specifications. On their website there are no product specification to find. At least not by me in the 20 minutes I spend looking.

@PinkGiraffe
@PinkGiraffe 4 года назад
do you think this would be helpful for someone with brown skin and dark thick hair? Earlier, I would get a yearly pass at European Wax Center but with gratuity and everything, it really ended up costing a lot. So, I switched completely to at home waxing. I use a wax warmer and those beads. Have been waxing my underarms and brazilian. But like you mentioned, I dont like the fact that I have to wait till my hair grows back a certain length to wax again. I am considering getting this Kenzi, I have seen other RU-vidrs post about it, but after you speaking about it so confidently, I am really considering getting it, Can I wax and use this Kenzi? Or I have to only shave and use it? I despise shaving as the hair comes back coarse, and I have ingrown and painful razor burns.
@sarahhorn50

PinkGiraffe Hey, no one replied to you so I thought I would jump in. Keep in mind that this info is just what I have read online, and I’m white, so lived experiences from other brown people would probably be more useful for you. As a general rule, unfortunately laser is less effective on darker skin tones, because the way that the hair is removed is using light that is absorbed by dark pigments. The light that is absorbed is converted to heat, and this heat is what damages the hair follicle and prevents the hair from growing. The reason that it is less effective on darker skin tones is because the light dissipates and is absorbed by your skin and hair, so the hair doesn’t heat up as much and therefore doesn’t damage the follicle as much. You cant wax and use the laser because there will be no hair in the hair follicle, so there is nothing for the laser to target. It’s not to say that laser won’t work for you - it may, but it could take a lot more sessions (and a lot more money). But waxing and laser together is definitely a no go ☹️

Thanks for sharing your experience!!! I'm considering an at home laser device, but some friends of mine say it's not going to do anything as it's an IPL. I'm already having almost a year at office IPL appointments, first it was good, less hair, the new was thin. But now during almost 3months of quarantine, EVERYTHING is back!!! For sure they are not so aggressive, but they are ALL BACK! I'm really sad for all this amount of money and time I have spent for what? Nothing!? And I don't want to spend again for it. I'm thinking that at home I won't spend such money and time and maybe, maybe by time they will get less and eventually gone... I hope.
