Y’all better believe Matt! He will get you to playing in no time. His love for Jesus and people are so evident in his videos along with a teachers heart, it’s a win for us all!
Bonus tip: use a metronome or play along to a song. If you’re using a metronome put the timing on the kick drum. That helped me a ton. That’s the loudest strum.
Best advice I listened to was this gold nugget from Matt. I enjoy learning your songbooks and feeling the rythm myself so much more as a newbie. Thanks for all you do.
Awesome video Matt! Fellow West Virginia native here, Lane Parkins. I heard a song a few days ago called “If daddy didn’t have a truck” by Cody Webb. Reminds me a lot of my life growing up in a small town near Charleston, WV with country life and keeping God first with his word. Please cover this song! From hearing your story, I can imagine it resonates a lot with you as well! Also it appears to only be 4 chords so it should be a fairly easy song for beginners to learn in the key of D with A, G and Bm and a capo on the 2nd fret. Thanks!
Hey man, started watching your videos 2 summers ago after years of wanting to play guitar (but never stuck to hit). I took lessons with a private instructor for a year and a half while watching your videos and im really good now. Sometimes i forget i play the instrument lmao. I just wanted to say thank you for what you do. I know it’s impossible but i could never go back to not being able to play my favorite country songs. God bless
The way you teach strumming was the only way I could get it. By sound and rhythm . Great lesson especially for beginners and intermediates struggling with strumming. Thanks
Awesome video! The strumming DVD is worth it folks! 4 Chords and the strumming hand. If you master strumming, the 4 chords sound like 10 different ones! keep up the great work Matt!
Could you do follow you to virgie by Tyler Childers. It’s probably the easiest song out there with only 2 major chords but I can’t get the strumming down and can’t find any in depth video on the strumming
