+arianabeauty26 I think it depends alot on the genre, how engaged you already were in the online community etc (loads of followers on twitter, friends on facebook etc). We will get there, slow and steady wins the race. ha. Good luck!

I've been on youtube for over 2 years and getting my videos/channel out there and gaining a audience is my main problem. When I first started I can admit I didn't upload consistent but once I really found out what I wanted to do with my channel I stayed on top of it and made videos weekly. Still after 2 years I'm under 2,000 subbies. Either way I'm going to continue to make videos because I love to. It just gets frustrating when you don't see your channel growing the way you would like for it to grow. Especially after all the time, effort, equipment and quality you put into each video.

Please please please anyone starting a channel don't care what others think!!! I started my channel the same time Naz did. Maybe even earlier. I stopped making videos after a year because people at my school were bullying me. To this day i regret caring what people thought because now old youtube friends of mine have over 1 million subscribers! Who knows what could have happened if I never stopped!! ive got just under 6,000 in 3 years and im still proud :) i went from covers to goofy vlogs and although i havent grown as fast as other youtubers have for the same amount of time doing them, i love it and its the best decision i made. plus i love looking back on them and seeing the moments in front of me instead of just a still photo!

It kind of hit me the other day that the reason why my channel has never taken off is because of inconsistency. I started off my channel posting like once every few months but now I'm stepping up my game because I feel like that's the main reason a lot of channels haven't taken off or went as far as others. Like reading the comments I saw a lot of people questioning why theirs haven't taken off either but it seems that consistency is always the common denominator.

+Amberly Justice I am 15 as well and I actually film on an iPhone 4 and i used to edit on it too don't worry i want my channel to be successful too but so far i only have 39 subs but i would just say keep trying I'm gonna keep trying till i at least get 50 or 100 subs i don't have a job or anything either but i keep making videos cause its fun so maybe you can keep trying too :) and hopefully we can help each others channel out and be like yt friends or something idk lol or even collab

Hey hun i also just use my phone and natural lighting! I think that iphones are great to film with + as your starting up you wont really need all the expensive stuff, its more about your content and your personality than your set up! Xx

love this video! I'm so glad you mentioned the iPhone situation a lot of RU-vidrs mention its okay to do the iPhone way, but honestly that's not going to get you were you want to be if you're serious about RU-vid amd giving value. I wanted to ask about video camera/camcorder, when going outside obviously you need different kind of mics, do you use a shotgun mic outside and maybe a yeti at home? Still have not purchased my camera, what would you suggest for making high quality videos at home as you have in this video and lets say filming in a supermarket with my kids and playing with my dog in a park? Its not all the same set up I think mic wise, sorry for the questions I'm just learning and about to invest in a camera, I want to get the right one and take great quality video, very clear and bright, thanks for the upload just subscribed.

Love the old set up ;) Mine is also low budget...i'm using a writing pen and typing paper to illustrate my sketches... watching other artists videos and i'm like...omg I wish i had pens or pencils like that.
