You look amazing! And love the saltwater slip dress hack! This is one of my hopeful summer plans patterns I have hoped to stitch up… May have to use this hack!
Beautiful makes love the hack on the saltwater slip dress❤ And the Ellery stunning, love the skirt smashed it Rachel. And you look amazing! Fabulous. Have a fab weekend. I’ve bought both patterns can’t wait to see yours xxxx
Lovely makes Rachel and you look great in them. I think they suit you so well. I’m enjoying the sewing bee and completely understand why you wouldn’t want to be on TV.😳 it’s a totally different thing but what would put me off most is the speed contest and having to do things less than you know you can sew. I love the Fleur dress pattern and would probably pick that over the tatb version if I bought it. I look forward to your versions,I’m going to hang fire for a bit as have so much I want to make before that. Lovely vlogs and glad you’re back. You’re looking very well and enjoy your weekend.😊
Rachel, that Saltwater dress looks absolutely fabulous….congrats for being able to get into it again. Everything you’ve made looks super great on you! Have fun with the girls. ❤
Lovely makes. The trousers look fab on you, despite the pockets. 😊 Yes, I am watching the Bee. Agree that week 3 was great. Loved some of the trousers 👖 and also the tablecloth 👚.
Hi Rachel, looks like I need to make a Saltwater slip as you and Ruan are always talking about them and they look so gorgeous. And if you don’t mind me saying, so do you, your hair and your weight loss has resulted in the old Rachel coming back to us, motivated and happy which we love. Love the trousers and thanks to another viewer for explaining the notches error by the pattern makers which shows it wasn’t you 😂❤
Love the dress, especially! There is this note on the Foxy Boxys, FYI: "Please note, if you bought this pattern between November 1st and 21st, the lower pocket notch is incorrectly placed. It should be 17.6cm down from the upper pocket notch to correspond to the pocket opening length. Place your pocket aligned with the upper pocket notch disregarding the lower notch."
I love all the light airy summer fabrics you have chosen for your makes. The tiered dress is cute, but for me a little longer would be better due to age. I am older than you, but I have to say I liked it more than I thought I would. It helps to see it made up and a real live person actually wearing the garment. Sometimes hard to tell how it will be just by looking at the pattern. Pants - it seems like every time I sew a new pant, I need a trial run to tweak the fit. Goes with the territory. Everything you have made looks lovely on you, and do hope you get some nice sunny days to enjoy wearing them. 👋 I think you would be fantastic on the Sewing Bee (why am I saying that when I live in Canada & couldn't probably watch you.) I used to be able to find a pirated version on You Tube but not for the last few years. I have to try harder to find it because it is a great program. It kinda makes me chuckle that people are making garments from repurposed linens. I used to do that way back in the day at University in the 1970's and sell them at music festivals to help pay my fees. All very Boho then. It is nice to see others doing it again and I love finding Tic Toe or Facebook videos of someone making clothes from dead stock or repurposed fabric.
I love your reviews. I learn about the saltwater slip from you, and i love it. I have made 2 and today i learn about the hack you mention it looks great. Will be on my table soon!!
Hi Rachel, Love your dress, I wish I could make it, but having a large bust and wearing a cut off bry would not work for me. Your hair colour is lovely, really suits you xx happy sewing. xx
Gorgeous makes and fabrics you choose, especially the salt water version you were wearing 😍😍 would you have any tutorial you could recommend to learn how to sew a blind hem with my sewing machine?
Hi, Loving the saltwater slip dress hack. The trousers look great ,maybe you could open the side seam and add new pockets. I watch GBSB and loved the tablecloth tops . I don't have a favourite sewer yet . I have a question for you , if you don't mind :- I got some viscose challis from Pound Fabrics a long time ago, it creased so much I hated it. It was like a rag !!! Does viscose usually do that or was it because it was cheap? Your viscose makes always look lovely! Thanks take care. xxx
I have that fabric that you have made the Saltwater slip in. It isn't made up yet, which is a shame. But the dress looks amazing on you. It has inspired me to get it sewn up! If I can find out where it came from I will let you know 😊
Were the seam allowances included or were you supposed to add them? Just an idea of what could have gone wonky with the pants. They look like they would be so comfy.
Such lovely makes, thanks for sharing 😊 I wonder if you cut the Foxie boxies off at the top fold line instead of the cut line? I did the same and had to find the top piece a.in the bin and reattach it 🙈😅
I don't blame you not wanting to be on the sewing bee on national TV, Rachel, especially if you had to stand in front of Esme, like a naughty schoolgirl, while she checked your work! I'd get detention for being cheeky 😆😆
If possible can you show us a picture of the patterns you’re using. I’m in the US and don’t see many Indie styles. Can’t look up some by the name because don’t know the spelling (your T-shirt) Love all your makes!
I run, but to be honest it’s only been the last month I’ve picked up my running more regularly before that it’s been at most once a week, plus walking peiper x
