As a European, after all that the West has done to Afghanistan, they still wonder, "Why do they hate us so much?" 😂 It's unbelievable how "innocent" their response is. I want to visit Afghanistan soon too. As a former journalist, I am sick and tired of the Western propaganda, especially towards Muslim countries.
We hate westerns because they started WW1 and WW2 and we are damaged, westerns started the cold war we damaged, they used us as a border, they wanted territory we damaged, they wanted fun we damaged, they separated us for more territory, many ancient buildings are destroyed, they started civil war in our people.
As a former US service member and being deployed to Logar province, FOB Shank, and Bagram, Kandahar , watching these videos makes me very happy knowing how they are recovering and rebuilding their country. Regardless of how western media tries to portray this country, these people are so welcoming and genuine.
“For me, being a girl in Afghanistan is like being a bird in a cage that wants to fly but gets cut off when it tries … That is why every morning, I wake up with a heaviness in my heart and a question: ‘What would it be like if I could break the cage and fly far away from here?’”
@@Afghan1774I'm so glad to see your country is safe and improving now very far from what I've seen in the news before during the war. Afghan people are friendly, watching this video I can say that Afghanistan is a beautiful country. God bless us all!🇵🇭
Madam, please don't be deceived by the Taliban and their supporters, including on RU-vid, and don't try to show them as good, beautiful, and kind. As a person who is from Afghanistan myself, and I know Afghanistan very well, I tell you that it is not the truth. which you may be able to understand as a foreign tourist on one or two trips to Afghanistan, because on the one hand, the Taliban, due to their need to be recognized by the countries of the world, are trying to behave very well and They should respectfully show a very beautiful and good face to the foreign tourists. Shia is like kicking them out of the government system that they don't have any right to decide about their destiny and their country, like usurping and forcibly taking their lands, houses and areas in provinces like Uruzgan and Karabagh region from Ghazni province and other provinces. Also, the Taliban and immediately wherever the pro-Taliban Pashtuns falsely filed cases against the land and areas of the Hazaras in the Taliban courts and claimed the lands and areas of the Khans of the people of the Hazara ethnicity because the claimants were Pashtuns and of the Taliban's own ethnicity and tribe. immediately and in a very short time and without any investigation, they handed over the lands and areas of the Hazaras to them without any real documents and forced the Hazaras to leave their homes and areas, and even in the same area of Bamyan and Band Amir For now you have gone and you are there, the overwhelming majority of the population of these areas are Hazaras, and among them there are many people who are literate, they know English very well, they have cars, they are unemployed, and they need a lot of income, but because of organized discrimination The fear and mischief that exists against them cannot be a guide for foreign tourists, even in their own regions, such as Bamyan, Daikundi, and other places, let alone other regions of Afghanistan, and currently your guide is a non-Hazara person, most likely from other regions, and so on. While the Taliban are Sunnis, please do not try to show a good and beautiful face of the Taliban because you do not know the depth of the tragedy, discrimination, genocide and ethnic cleansing in Afghanistan, because it will oppress the people of Afghanistan.

Thank you Carrie for visiting my country 🇦🇫. I'm from Kabul and have been in Herat too. I found Herat more relaxing then Kabul as it is a large province and has been capital of the Timurid empire.
It IS like another Paradise On Earth. What a breathtaking view with this traditional architecture of the mosques. I'm having the privilege to watch from Brazil, amazed with the beauty. I am from Pakistan, and I believe that the people of Afghanistan are truly lovely and kind. Just like everywhere else, there are good and bad individuals. While there may be some who engage in terrorism, it is unfair to label all Afghans as such. Unfortunately, fake propaganda and false information often defame Muslims on the world stage, but I have faith that this will not continue forever. Inshallah.
I agree completely.. and also to say that local people are different to the governments too.. my main reason for travel is always to meet locals.. Afghans didn’t disappoint! Truly lovely people.
Let's not forget Pakistan inherited Durrand line disputed territory of Afghanistan, so since 70s Pakistan has been involved in destruction of Afghanistan till today, if anything Pakistan's help is like the drop of the ocean and Pakistan contribution in destruction of Afghanistan is the ocean itself.

As a woman from the uk I have always been led to believe palaces like Afghanistan were the worst of bad bunch of countries to visit, I now realise how much we are made to fear the country and the people. The people who you met seemed so very kind and generous the food looked amazing the Mosque was just breathtakingly beautiful, and I truly hope that one day the people of the western world can visit this beautiful country and bring money into their economy, we have after all tried to destroy this nation and failed as have many other nations. So to the Afghan people I promise I will come to your country and I simply can’t wait 🙏
That’s such a lovely comment to read! Thank you! The minute I stepped into this part of the world, from Pakistan to Bangladesh and now Afghanistan I have had my eyes opened.. it’s been a lovely experience 🥰
While I do respect talking to ordinary people, even from Taliban and understanding their point of view, the Taliban in Afghanistan have systematically restricted the human rights of women and girls and suffocated all aspects of their lives. It's not that Afghani people wouldn't be 'friendly', the food wouldn't be nice, or the architecture wouln't be stunning, it has never been about that. This is all superficial level. It's the fact that Afghani girls and women under Taliban suffer from their education path being cut from 6th grade onwards, they can't any longer take many jobs, if at all, and the suicide rates of women and girls have gone up. Systematic erasure of the rights of girls and women to be equal is not 'cultural', it's entirely strategic and political.
@@maaripoim9049 no one is denying what you have said. Refusing career/work opportunities for women and education for girls and women is wrong. The Taliban initially said this was due to security and safety which no believed but they are what they are. It was incombant upon the West to take the initiative and usher they towards developing an open and fair society for all. What did our governments do, they flatly refused to work with. The Taliban government asked the US government for support in reconstruction of the country which they destroyed and they asked for recognition to deal with state matters on local and international level but the US and European governments refused the Taliban request. Afghanistan is under financial embargo just like Cuba because this is what we do to people who don't agree with us or bend over backwards to our demands. So the the Taliban decided to go their own way. This excecebated the suffering of those same women and children you spoke of because in the West we live in a bubble where we think every body around the world should live like how we live that's not how it works. It's always our way or the highway. If the US and European governments engaged them in dialogue there would have been the ample opportunities for the Taliban to change their philosophy. US and European engagement would have helped reduce the suffering of women and girls due to lack work and educational opportunities. We got the hump we because we lost the war. Whether we like it or not the Taliban hold power in Afghanistan and this time no one can depose them if this continues we are just as culpable in the suffering of Afghan women and girls. We can't just blame the Taliban we should force our governments to do more for the people of Afghanistan especially women and girls. By the way the nationality is Afghan the currency is Afghani.
Wow! This video is so well done and not overly produced like other journalists. Please keep it like this it feels so real like I visited when I never stepped foot! Beautiful country - love from Yemen 🇾🇪
I entered Afghanistan after travelling through Greece, turkey and Iran in 1976 on my first trip to India. I recall staying in Herat , where shops were lighted with candles, it felt like entering a world that was still living in the past. On the way back from India, I in 1977 had the opportunity to see the Buddhas , unfortunately blown up by the Taliban. Glad to learn that they do welcome visitors again. I pray for peace, the country has suffered too many wars. But I also pray for freedom and for the rights of women to be respected. Sat Sri Akal, Salam, Shalom, Shanti.
Wow you must have seen Afghanistan in a truly interesting time.. I wish I could peek back. I understand in places like Kabul they dressed totally differently to how they do now.. and to see the Buddhas.. incredible!
@@carriepatsalis yes indeed, I was fortunate to travel to India overland, and back to Europe when it was still possible. It was a complete different Afghanistan then . I am a French born British national, got married in Chandigarh i Punjab. My wife is Indian and we are running a 12 acre organic farm in Punjab, near Anandpur sahib. I travelled by bus from Kabul to Peshawar, in 1976 ( I was 19 years old) and back to Kabul in 1977 through the kiber pass , something I wouldn’t try these days, especially since I converted to Sikhism. I understand most Sikhs have left Afghanistan when the Taliban took over.
So beautiful Afghanistan. As pakistani, it warms my heart that there is peace and prosperity in these lands. They have been on the proxy war of West for too long. They deserve peace .
Very impressed that you challenged yourself to visit Afghanistan. It’s a beautiful country and the people have a resilient spirit. To think that only a few years ago this was a war ravaged country with a population suffering the trauma of the torture inflicted upon them, it’s so nice to see them welcoming tourists and engaging with such warmth. We as westerners sometimes forget that their experiences of life have been very different from ours and for most of them each day brings so many struggles to survive. I’m glad you bought the ring. Trade must be quite slow and when only one family member is earning for usually large families they need all the help they can get. Also I think your positivity and warmth rubs of on them. They can see that people in the west don’t hate them. Loving your voyages into the unknown 😉 ❤
The similarites between Herat, Samarqand and Buhkara are because they were once known as Khorasan, a historical eastern region in the Iranian Plateau between West and Central Asia.
Thanks for proving the whole international media wrong. love all your content dear Carrie. By the way seeing your journey made me think of taking my Australian wife and our son to my beloved country Afghanistan. So thnx.

As a Pakistani, it warms my heart to see Afghanistan free of war and invasion. We as their neighbors were aware of their plight and we’ve lost thousands of our own because of it. The hatred I’ve felt against the west for the destruction of our region is beyond words. This is a bloody story that is being revised again now in Palestine as we speak
Opium is the reason Afghanistan has been in turmoil for centuries. The warlords, taliban, Russians, and US all profited from it in recent history. Why else would the west/Pakistan be so interested in this country?
what a warm welcome there, you will find smiling people everywhere, at least now it has changed your view of Afghanistan, especially for western people, and you said that the Friday mosque is your favorite place, I'm also happy, thank you for the video and I come from Indonesia
Please don’t look away from the Talibans cruelty, misogynistic, discrimination…. Behavior and don’t send misinformation about their barbaric actions against, women other ethnicities, religion…. Than what it’s the really in my homeland. My sister forbidden to go to school, works or travel to other provinces alone etc. at least if you don’t say about the reality situation than don’t manipulate Talibans cruelty and what’s actually going on. you are responsible to your conscience. Taliban had killed more than 100 thousands of my people and are extremely conservative group that doesn’t tolerate democracy, individual freedom, equality…. Best regards from a Hazara. Take care of yourself🙏
Look, it is not her job to criticize the Taliban. She is a travel vlogger. She is there to travel and show us the country, not make political statements or try to initiate political change. Why are you putting this burden on her? The United States tried this to initiate some kind of change towards democracy and equality for 20 years but ultimately failed. Carrie can be politically neutral during her travels and that is okay. Being politically neutral is not misinformation. It is simply being neutral and doing her job as a travel vlogger. She does not need to criticize the ruling regime or politics of the countries she visits. She is not an activist and she should not have to be. If you care so much, then you go back to your homeland and initiate change. Or take your sister out to where you live.
Don't worry, the Taliban government is discussing women's equality. About a month ago, our former vice president (Indonesia) came to Afghanistan at the invitation of the Taliban government. Apart from discussing investment, the Taliban government also discussed women's equality in education. What I wonder is, why do you say women are prohibited from going to school when we have seen that women are allowed to go to school?? The Taliban government even opened a girls' school. The Taliban government is opening international relations and is collaborating with regional countries on investment projects. They said that currently European businessmen also want to invest in Afghanistan. Because in the past western entrepreneurs admitted that they had been consumed by western propaganda. I think what you say that the Taliban has killed more than 100 people from your ethnicity is impossible. Are you part of the propagandists too ?? 😅 stop talking bad about the Taliban while the Taliban government is improving the country's situation for the better

I am very happy and grateful that you want to sincerely come directly to Us as moslems and tell to others about aour activities and real life. And I am a moslem brother in afghanistan, because I am a Moslem from Indonesia. We are brothers in faith to Alloh SWT. Thank you Carrie. GodBless you
It's videos like this that gets me excited to want to travel to beautiful countries like Afghanistan. The people seem very welcoming and rich in culture.
I don't know why I seen your blogs on my RU-vid feed but I tell you what you have opened my eyes to the hatred our governments and media spread about this country. Thank you. Same with Russia, China and all the other countries they want us to be afraid of.
I am glad you have enjoyed this.. people and politics are two different things.. and whilst I abhor the taliban rules on women, these Taliban guards are not the decision makers.. they are literally like civil servants doing their job of renovation on a building with their own fears in life etc ..often they have no choice which regime they work for
