As someone into tourism 1st al say thank you for marketing Nairobi. You shouldn't leave Nairobi Kenya 🇰🇪 without visiting the Nairobi national park for a game drive. I grew up in the westlands in the 90's. I remember when waiyaki way was only single carriage, sarit was a lot smaller than it is, and there were much fewer cars on the road. Its taken over 20 years to reach where it is now. So development takes time.

A report came out that showed Kenya is 70% rural. This clearly shows the disparity in development even with the advent of County governments after the promulgation of the 2010 constitution. The government is giving enough incentives to investors to do business outside of Nairobi. Right now, the country has a total of 5 cities but there's a huge gap in horizontal infrastructure to support their status compared to Nairobi. This will continue to create pressure on the little available land in Nairobi as everyone would be looking to move to Nairobi to either look for a job or investment an opportunity. county governments was seen as the panacea for all the problems that bedeviled the country since independence but ironically, we only devolved corruption and created semi-autonomous governments with CEO's that were out of touch with the people's needs. For Kenya to realize it's full potential, manufacturing should be moved from the capital to exactly where the raw materials are extracted, lower the cost of energy and deal with inflation. But most importantly, the government should ensure that the monster that is corruption is slayed because it's the biggest drain to capital that has been denying the country its growth.

That's a clear lie.., Kenya has way bigger and developed towns in comparison to East African countries.., with county government system rural is dying fast. That report is meant to soil Kenya's reputation or by a Tanzanian.,. they really hate anything positive from Kenya, they must hate. I would love to see the scope of the study, research areas, who did the research, how and when. I smell propaganda from a far. In sub-saharan Africa Kenya is very diversified.

@@georgeikinya2779 We have tobacco being produced in Busia and Migori. Why would manufacturing be in Nairobi and Thika? We have fishing in the lake regions of Nyanza, why would fish processing be happening in Thika? We have We have gold being mined in Kakamega and Migori albeit in very small scale, why move it to Nairobi? Do you see where I'm gong with this? just to cite a few examples. Why can't these communities benefit from resources found in their regions to allow for a balanced job creation across the country? It's such skewed distribution of employment that makes the country 70% rural.

I have been to Addis nothing clean about it...apart from Mesquel square and kazanchis..Addis does not have a well rounded CBD ..foreign exchange is a nightmare.VISA does not work and everything is in Birr.commercial Bank of Ethiopia has so much restriction and there is serious language barrier..many translators are simply rip off guys

I don't know why people are always going on and on about Nairobi, it's a very untidy city in fact it borders on dirty. Look at the pavements/sidewalks, look at the drains they do not maintain them. I'm Kenyan and Nairobi used to be much better when I was growing up, definitely had fewer buildings but it was neat and tidy. It also depends on which area in Nairobi you're talking about. Westlands has become extremely crowded and unkempt, so has Kileleshwa, Lavington and what used to be Adams. I can barely recognize those areas.

wdym ? There's a 60,000 seater stadium in kasarani, it's been here since 1990s ,and another 60,000 is currently being built in Jamuhuri grounds called Talanta sports city , a 60,000 professional football stadium. The only one in EA of it's size.

So how can 65% of us be living in slums yet our largest has that few people in it , If you go to Google maps you'd clearly see kibera is literally surrounded by posh estates like kilimani and Karen and new apartments keep swallowing it up , Majority of Nairobians are middle class and live in apartment estates , even in low income areas like pipeline and Githurai you can see cars Parked outside their fairly good apartments.

Nairobi is Standout when it comes to infrastructure, health care, internet connectivity, uninterrupted power supply among many others. Such things are the ones that makes a city rank high. In my opinion, Nairobi is way much ahead than Adis Ababa when it comes to access of such things...
