My daily log template: affiliate.notion.so/ying-daily-log As always, timestamps are in the description so feel free to skip around! I tried to keep my explanation as simple as possible but please do let me know if you have any follow-up questions and I'll do my best to help! I know it can be a bit overwhelming at first to be a new user 😅 But I hope this is helpful to anyone looking for something simple just to get started!
i've seen a handful of Notion setup videos, but this was the first one that really clicked for me!! i love how clean and functional it is, without being so aesthetically-intense or micromanaged that it's overwhelming. feeling so inspired rn - thanks for sharing!
personally, when i made my notion account, i did not use it for almost an entire year because it seemed just so complicated and effortful and no tutorial was simple enough :,) but also, ying!!!! i relate to a lot of the things you say that you face for example the black void in your memories of an undocumented day 😭😭 you're one of my comfort youtubers, much love
I absolutely love this. Thank you for taking the time to share your Notioneering. I love how honest you are about everything, especially helping make the world feel that it's not just them that might be anxious, that ADHD is just a way of being that plenty of people have, and that anxiety can become calm with daily doings. I really appreciate your work. Thank you!
I used to use notion but switched strictly to my version of bullet journaling. I've tried to use notion but I am just doing the same things in both which is unnecessary. Past two months I've been retrying it and I've finally found what works for both of them cause in tademn they really help me (took a while to crack the code tho)
Ooh this would of been so helpful to know this existed at the beginning of Spring Semester! The set up i do have is on my phone which is weird considering all of my work is being done on my laptop so bookmarking this for later and then i'll somehow forget i book marked this video...
Ying is so fascinating for me. She has this chaotic energy that is surprisingly detail-oriented and well-organized underneath all that screaming. I don't know a single thing about genshin impact but I like her enthusiasm when she plays. For me, these types of videos are the ones that I enjoy the most from her. I'm not an organized person at all. Whenever I try to be I just forget it because I'm not that type of person so it's super fascinating for me to look at her organize her thoughts into a system that works for her. I also love it that she talks so fast but still sounds cohesive.
I don't know if this was just coincidence, but just today in my 3D modeling class my professor recommended Notion (first time I heard of it), and then I see this video pop up
ying's voice is literally so calming??? like u literally r like one of like 2 or 3 people i can both actively enjoy and enjoy as background sound for other stuff 🥺💕
I signed up for Notion maybe a year ago and that tab just lives there and I've never used it. I would love a beginner setup guide video. I don't journal or even keep to do lists so I wasn't sure how I could use it in a way that's actually beneficial to me and not just using up my time setting it all up to never be used again. * Thinks back to 2020 when I finally decided to buy a planner only to use it for one month before, we all know what *
omg this is so relatable! for someone who rarely comes out of the house, days can be really monotonous and all blended together hence i'm looking for ways to journal and track whatever the i do in a day, thank you for the advice!
honestly the whole tool is set up to feel almost like an IDE with the way it uses the / for quick commands, and IDE common shortcuts like cmd+P for fuzzy search work as well ; v; it's amazing
Ying jiejie (please tell me if you're uncomfy with people calling you that! hehe), your videos ++ guides are literally some of the few things that my brain can digest and process right away and I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate it :( Love your videos always!
I would advise you to simplify. "Chase two rabbits, catch neither" as the russian proverb goes. Really boil down to what your 6 month outcome is, what it specifically looks like, and what is needed to make that happen from a 'first principles' perspective. Look it up if unfamiliar with the idea. The bare bones mechanics of 'this discipline is physically needed to move from A to B and if this is done, the 6 month outcome is inevitable' kind of thing. And then eliminate distractions. I use 'minimalist' app with all the notifications filtered out for a calm mind every day.
Thank you for this video. I heard about Notion just a while ago today. I decided to come to one of the channels and be informed in depth about all of Notion's features. I will get work on Notion in the future. I was already using Evernote prior to being informed about Notion. Thanks again, and Happy New Year in arrears!
how do i do two tables in one page like how u would in that photog-music tracker im a total noob and i cant figure it out lol Edit: oooofff nvm i found it its /inline database thanks for sharing ur notion organization ^_^
This is amazing, thanks for showing this! I'd cop your to-do template if possible, that split-database thingy where your completed tasks appear on other side is really nice. Don't know how to do that though.
I gotchu! Just added a link to the description, feel free to duplicate the template :D It's basically just the same table twice, one filtered for incompletes and one filtered for completes. So glad you found this helpful!!!
Waw, i think i will have a long update on mine and maybe finally get something out of it. Last time I was just trying to organize some stuff and got confused ;/
Hard same! Thank you for making this video. It took me a bit of time to get used to notion but while I don't use it so much for daily tracking (I have a bunch of paper journals I use for that instead because I need to slow down) but I've found it useful for tracking characters in stories, especially since my initial thought was to create the draft of a long-a** light novel series. With that said I am totally ganking your execution for the media and the game tracker sets because I've been trying to keep track of them but did not find a way to. Thanks again for making this!
I'm not stalking I swear It's just that I'm seeing this video everyday to help me with my notion pages AND I noticed that DDLC Video with a In Progress Tag so...you're bringing Doki Doki to the channel? that would be amazing lmao
Ah sorry I missed this question earlier! The "daily logs" are literally just a database with two views, but I've added a link to my template in the description. Remember to use the views to switch between the gallery view and the list view :D Hope that helps!
i've also definitely struggled with the memory anxiety problem, and i think the reason why notion didn't click for me for a while is that i wasn't keeping track of previous tasks and memories like i would in my bullet journal; but after seeing your setup i realized that i really could use notion to save memories as well, with all the convenience of it being online and organized, so thank you sm !!
Saw this super late, sorry; I'm unmedicated! Tried a few different options and really didn't like what they felt like. I think I'm just kind of talkative and loud and over the years it's crystallized into me being pretty good at fluently expressing my thoughts haha, I'm glad you thought I was articulate!
TBH I think this app has a steep learning curve for a lot of people and that’s why there are so many tutorials and guides for it haha as long as you have systems that work for you, that’s all that matters!!
7:40 THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST RELATABLE THINGS EVER YING. I really struggle with this and exactly how you put it into words!!!!! Thank you so so so much. The void is relatable. I'm scared of losing days so much and so far i haven't been able to stick to a permanent uniform journal (except samsung notes lol but that's not really organized) but i always find so much value and solace in looking at pictures and it really symbolizes for me that the day has happened (and that i actually exist as a human in time and have done things even if i can sometimes get caught up in the actual moment and everything else seems blank ahdjsjsjjs) so i might take a go at this! I truly am grateful for this, thank you so much, I treasure your honesty and now I know that I'm not alone with this kind of anxiety❤ PS: a total beginner's guide would be brilliant if you made it! once again thank you for the tips :D
YEESSSS i'm always so happy to find people who relate to this feeling because so many people can be VERY quick to minimize this feeling (if I had a dollar for every time a friend told me to just "relax and let it go" i'd be RICH) whatever you try, I hope it helps!!! and I'll look into getting a total beginner's guide done hehe
I love love love this so much! This has definitely helped to inspire me and make my notion finally useful haha. Would you mind sharing where you got your icons? They are so cute! TIA!!♥
I pls need a begginners guide I'm so lost and unorganized and anxious this could help a lot I'll try by myself but if you ever make a guide I'd be more than happy to check it out awesome video by the way love ya!
notion is great, but don't write there to personal things! it's not secure properly!!! workers can basically read what you put on notion, for hackers it's easy to hack!! be carefull!
@@ying_verse Don't heard about any incidents, but notion is encrypted. I definetly wouldn't write there any addreses, credit numbers, health data, money data, job data or other sensitive informations.
this was amazing!! thanks for the templates. i'd actually love to see a time management video hahaha. how you do all the things within a month, or within a quarter. what that looks like. cuz WOW. you do a lot. i love keeping a memory log too. no one's memory is great, and i think im getting more out of my life by keeping a memory log because i get to relive my life. it's the best.
I stumbled across this video hoping to find a simple template that I can actually keep track of. This is definitely it! Yes, a lot of the other people I've seen do this have really cute looking pages, but when its more focused on how it looks rather than the actual purpose of it, I tend to not be able to focus on it (gotta love AuDHD), but this notion page setup is exactly the right balance between looking nice to make your brain happy and want to use it but also very functional. I will definitely be using some of the templates!! Little side note if anyone wants to read, I have recently dropped out of school (college in the UK so ig 12th grade??) to focus on my mental health which also means I have to look for employment so I can, live. It has been quite a bit of a struggle because I have started antidepressants whilst doing this. So I am hoping that using notion to keep on track of things will acc help. Thank you for reading if you did
so glad this was helpful for you!! I’ve been continuing to update and adapt it over time and I hope you’ll find a similarly flexible approach, best of luck!!
Great video!! I’m looking for a more simple tour and this gave me so many ideas. A daily log is such a good idea too since I need to practice formal typing 😭
been wanting to start notion for a while and had no idea where to start but you got me excited to finally organize the chaos of my life/brain ^^ I would absolutely watch a full beginners guide!!
i would really love a beginners guide to notion from you! you're so fun and relaxing to watch as well as very articulative making you easy to understand
@@GiovanaPozza I don't have a weekly planning spread on my Notion unfortunately, but the "all tasks" list is included as a template in the description if that's the one you're looking for!
