My simple Scandinavian summer /silent vlog Norway 

My wife and I have been watching (and loving) your videos for a while, but we had not decided to comment until today. We love your sensitivity, your ability to see the beauty in small things, and your affection towards the kid with glasses who spent hours in the library. You sound so relatable. Please continue making such great videos.

I’m in bed, on the island, with a pot of Earl grey, two kittens asleep on my legs and I’m absolutely basking in the delight of a wave of Gymnopédies, Mochi, wild geraniums and carbohydrate. I was winding down for the end but who knew that instead I should have been winding up? The end made my heart soar and the tears came. They’re still here. I can hardly see to type. I had no idea what was in the beautifully wrapped green package. I had no idea what was in the cigar box, but when you opened it, my intake of breath left the whole Island without oxygen. And then, as I tried to recover, you put the sleep masks on and settled them down to sleep and truly I felt as though my heart might burst with love. I’m SO full of emotion right now. Can you tell? 😊 You are an incredibly talented storyteller. Incredible. The way you weave in and out, returning to old stories, giving us a glimpse to remind us? It keeps us invested. We feel a part of it.I feel a part of it and to feel that way is a real privilege. You have such a wonderful skill - pausing for ‘the cat eye’ was genius - absolute genius. I’m SO glad I found you. ❤

Another fantastic vlog! Beautiful scenery and nature as always. I love the little noises Mochi makes when she eats; she’s just too cute! Glad you decided to indulge the child in you with the mice. My favorite book as a kid involved a mouse - “Stuart Little.” My sister read it to me and did voices for the different characters. What a beautiful (reflective) Vlog - absolutely precious in every way! 🫶🏻 Being introduced to the shy, gentle, bespectacled little boy you were, intuiting his self doubts (?), having his early passion for reading confirmed, and hearing how he would have delighted in escaping into an imaginary world with Mr & Mrs Mouse, I wish I could have hugged him as well and assured him he was in the process of growing up to be quite an amazing, empathetic, confident man who would touch the lives of countless people all around the world - and that he would find love with an equally wonderful man and one day be a Dad to the most beautiful little puppy imaginable! I’m so pleased you bought him that charming gift. Watching you unwrapping it so carefully with your adorable little Princess taking it all in so attentively, was really touching! Thank you for entrusting your story with us! I have recently begun wearing an eye mask at bedtime, just as those two very cute little mice are doing. Princess Mochi’s many attributes just cannot get any better, nor could she be any cuter or more endearing - and yet, they do and she does, every.single.week! She truly is an incredibly special puplet and I could write pages, praising her! You have and are raising her superbly! Not only is she endearingly beautiful (especially those EYES!), she is spunky, confident, well balanced, extremely intelligent, intuitive, gentle, obedient, patient and completely adorable. I loved watching her pass her obedience training for the cheese tax with flying colours! She is SO GOOD!!! The lucky lady whose lap she joyfully leapt into at the Cafe must have been delighted to have met such a lovable, joyful, enthusiastic angel. Watching Mochi doing her utmost to entice that cat to play was wonderful, but such a shame it refused to oblige at all! As you can tell, I am besotted with her 😂 Would you consider getting a kitten as a sibling for Mochi? I thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip and the lovely walk around Gressholmen Island. The beautiful sights and sounds were a treat as always. So very relaxing and soothing (the water lapping against the shoreline, the rustling leaves of the Birch trees in the steady breeze). Thank you for sharing your magic with us!

Hi to Mochi and dads. Such a lovely beginning to my weekend. I tell anyone who'll care to listen, never lose your inner child. If you stop nourishing it one will soon grow old, angry and will quickly wither away miserable. Maybe if dads are up to it, Mochi can have a kitten to love and look after. Loved the visit to your home and the darling island. My "kids" love ferry rides too.

BTW-I hope we never get too old to indulge in adorable and fanciful things like your gift to yourself. What a shame it would be! I would have never left that store without a treasure!

My favorite! Because of the emphasis on nature: the lapping of the waves against the shore, the wind rustling the leaves, the meandering trail, the dappled sunlight through the leaves, etc. Pure magic!!! Mochi seeing the cat made me burst out in laughter! So much fun, and I laughed and laughed! Then the surprise of your gift to child you. Mochi sniffing trying to determine the box’s contents. I squealed, yes, really squealed with delight when the 2 creatures donned their sleeping masks and lay down for the night! 100% pure, solid magic! The emphasis on nature was what first stood out to me in this video. But as I reflected on it, your treatment of other parts were just as important and special. Thank you for sharing your magic with us! Once again, you’ve reconnected me to the beauty and wonder of the universe.

Thank you for your cosy video💓 Such videos prove that a cosy and slow life is possible even in the city. I love morning walks too, when there are no people on the streets yet. There is a charm in such walks. That's why I always wake up at six in the morning at any time of the year and go for a walk with Chester☺ Mochi waited so patiently for permission to eat cheese🥰 Unbelievable! Chester has stamina too, but if he has cheese in front of him, I think he stops even hearing any commands😅 I will never cease to be amazed at how much Mochi loves kitties and wants to be friends with them☺ Thank you for sharing your journey. OMG, when I saw the toys that you bought for yourself, it took me back to 2019. I had just one inexpensive doll when I was a child. Although I loved playing with dolls, my mother thought it was a waste of money. So in 2019, I went to a store to buy the American Girl doll but I did not buy it as I thought it was too expensive and I also felt silly buying the doll as an adult. Maybe, I will buy it one day. Mochi was very cute as always and I enjoyed watching her reaction when she saw the cat.

Loved the walk around the island. Watching the waves on the shore is something I've always loved, it's hypnotic and meditative. Surely the landscapes inspired some painters. The cat episode was a lot of fun. Mochi wanting to play but the cat ignoring her, poor Mochi 😄, I think my cat would have done the same, that queen only does what she wants !😹 I have kept two stuffed animals from my childhood and especially a "topo Gigio" puzzle (it"s a famous italian mouse)that I loved .. And my love for reading and drawing have remained intact since I was little. Thank you for this nostalgic video 😍

A lovely video. My dog is not with us anymore, but he liked cats and they loved him, when he went on walks cats would follow him and they'd stop and cuddle and kiss. He even had a rabbit sister that he got on well with, but he couldn't stand other dogs 😅

What an extraordinary man that boy with the glasses grew up to be. It is a rainy day here in Connecticut and watching your adventure with Mochi was so calming. I am also a teacher, so summer is just as exciting to me now as it was when I was a child. Thanks to the little boy in the glasses for making the world a better place through his eyes...(P.S. i lOVE Mochi, I have two rescue dogs at home, and we cuddle a lot!)

What a nice start to your summer holiday. Norway or at least Oslo seems to be very dog friendly as you are able to take her on buses and boats. I know a lot of places will only allow a dog if it's in a carrier of some kind on public transit unless it's a service dog. Have a great vacation.

My husband’s favorite toy was a little mouse dressed up wearing glasses. He named it Mousey. We were at his Mom’s because he was looking for something in this old suitcase that had all his stuff. He’s searching and I see Mousey, and yell, “Mousey!” “What are you doing with my Mousey?!” I had the same one as a kid and named it Mousey. Really, thought he had taken mine for a moment, lol!
