the most devious thing about this encounter? they said it was borderline impossible to keep gojo in a single place for 60 seconds straight in order to seal him... but kenjaku knew that if he showed himself in geto's body, attempted to copy his mannerisms, smile, and even try to replicate geto's voice, he knew that sealing satoru gojo would be most certainly possible.
All the villains tried to somehow stop Gojo for the plan, using the civilians as obstacles to tire Gojo mentally and Physically. But Gojo is so capable of cold thinking that he managed to win. But when Kenjaku appeared, with such a _little_ time, he did the lowest and worst damage, in the most devious way possible: He didn't attacked Gojo's body or mind, *He* *attacked* *Gojo's* *heart.* This is the most evil sorcerer of history we're talking about.
he didnt keep him in 1 spot for a minute. The way the prison realm works is that it counts the time in your mind basically, and only a minute needs to pass by in the mind to seal them. So in real life, gojo was stood there for a second. However, in his mind, a minute passed by years ago after seeing his best friend, the one closest to him... the one he had to end with his own hands.
@@hybrid1779 that's exactly what i said...? you need to be in it's radius, that's why i said "single place" because you can't just seal him without him being close enough.
@@sadistik_re Ur right about gojo having to be close to it, but you're wrong about him having to stay there for 60 seconds. Again, in kenjakus eyes, he said hi to gojo and then a millisecond later gojo was going to get sealed because the minute only had to pass by in gojos mind
The way I see this song is just how Gojo sees Geto. Just that soft piano of serene peace. That's what Geto meant to him. And then that single sudden dip into a lower tone that suggests that something's *off.* And that something being Gojo realizing that this isn't really Geto.
It was even crazier for us manga readers when the chapter where Gojo got sealed released because nobody was sure how canon JJK 0 even was at that point
the tone switch between keys going back and forth between normal and slightly off give me the idea that Gojo was ok with being sealed. As it happened he made peace with it, and almost happy that he got to relive memories of him and his best friend. Jjk is special
You know what the saddest part is? He was the only best friend Gojo ever had. And to see his memories of everything they've been through together projected is really sad and heartbreaking. All of the above is undoubtedly and completely felt in this very emotive and brilliant tune. Very strong scene.
@@hknil8966 Does he see her as a "best friend" tho? The way story portrays Shouko in that trio in general makes her look very isolated from them and like she's the only one that cares. In general to me they don't feel close at all
@@reruarikushiteru They're the best friend trio, but honestly, im sure Gojo neglected the friendship between him and Shoko because of Geto's defection and the impact it left for both of them
I think Shoko was aware she wasn't like them and separated herself from them. There is a panel that says, if she fell in love with either of them hell would freeze over. And another when Gojo says he was alone and Shoko argues she was there. In the end, Shoko wasnt ever a part of them, who only cared about strength. But she was part of their group just as Nanamin and Yu, therefore friends just not Best Friends. Whats even worse is neither Gojo or Geto tried to form deeper connections with anyone else. And ngl their relationship seemed a little gay
The fact that the music goes so well with "two friends seeing each other again!" And with "wait... something's off." Kenjaku is truly the core of all the evilness and disgrace on earth.
Gojo use his Domain Expansion and people get 6 months of information in 0,2 seconds. But when Gojo saw K...Geto, he got 3 years of information in 0,1 second, kinda ironic...
@@MAGAdoriya Not one minute. The point was that keeping Gojo next to the prison realm for a minute is pretty much impossible but we only needed a minute inside Gojos brain. So these years of memories flooding into his brain easily fulfilled the 1 minute condition in a split second.
Gojo would always gets "more info" than anybody else, considering he is the only one who can withstand his domain expansion fully without collapsing. Why is it ironic, then ? Isnt the fact that Gojo gets more info in less time than anybody else completely literal and expected ? Why is it ironic ? Im asking seriously lol
bro i literally got goosebumps when this scene went on and i saw gojo's reaction and smile to seeing his best friend again, as well as the memories quickly going by
Same. I didn't notice music through the whole 2 seasons. But when this melody started playing, I felt the same as Satoru did. As if hundreds of years were passing in my mind while the time outside was just frozen and still. All the slides of memories of gojo and geto passing before my eyes. It felt so real and magical. That is why i love, love and love satoru's and Suguru's friendship. It is so heartwarming that it touches heart of even the real people. In fact, to me, Satoru and Suguru are more of real people than I am.
That music and Gojo's one second of hopeful smile that his best friend came back, it was too much. This show has some of the best anime adaptation I've ever seen.
I can't stop thinking about that sudden lower note. It feels like something's off. The melody is so soothing and calm and then suddenly something happens. Something too small to even notice, but still, it manages to give me creeps. Something is terribly wrong.
Man this ost damn anyone who has lost their best friend understands perfectly what Gojo was going through holy man this hits hard. Damn it got me all sentimental.
Satoru Gojo: - family presumably dead - numerous assassination attempts as a child - couldn't save star plasma vessel - couldn't save his best friend from his descent into darkness - had to kill his best friend - couldn't bring himself to burn his body which allowed Kenjaku to steal it - now is trapped in the prison realm for having one minute of hope - which directly leads to Nanami and countless others dying that's how you write the strongest character in a story. not a perfect being. but a human with strengths and real flaws and failures. Who wouldn't want to think they were actually seeing their best friend alive again. Satoru has had a truly tragic life.
This song hits so hard because it actually feels like you're getting hit with a flashback, even if you weren't familiar with the show. It's like your soul running into an invisible brick wall, and gets pushed back from your body.
That recurring haunting note (first appearing at 0:21) highlights the bitterness of the bittersweet scenes of SatoSugu in JJK S2E9-10 in such a delicate way. The music is playing ever so softly in the background, and yet you cannot miss it. It blends so well with the emotions of the scenes! Kudos to JJK team! And thanks for making this lo-fi remix of it! 👏🏼
The sad thing is, in the recent episode, "Geto" Reacts and chokes Kenjaku out, (Tries to), Showing geto is still there, the body is still geto in a way, and can sense Gojo.
This scene gave me goosebumps because I Had a dream similar to this scene I had a dream my older brother who been dead for 14 years visit me at work but something wasn’t Right I knew it wasn’t him and I start questioning him after seeing this it made me ball so hard
the way how satoru had a faint smile on his face thinking suguru was alive, but his soul immediately knew there was something off about him. fuck, that shit wrecks me every time i think about it man....
This soundtrack feels exactly like what gojo was going through in this scene. Like I'm reminiscing the old times with my loved one, but that person is gone. It's so peaceful, serene, even a bit nostalgic...yet very sad. Thank you for this cover.
Has anyone else had a friend for a long time? When you look in those eyes, can you tell it's still them? What if they died inside, and just convinced you to like the new them? Could you tell? Would you still care for them? Do you like your friends, or do you like what they were?
Sometimes when a friend dies at young age but when u saw someone else talking to you, and same posture, voice, tune and exact personality as them. I always think them as a reincarnated person giving me a message to reunite again As for your theory, this world is long gone corrupted. There's only few real friends are willing to take care of you and love you as a friend. Others, they wouldn't but they see u as a classmate or a co lleague. If this world were different, then the situation is different. Why the world is cruel, why the world so heartless because something have happened before on this earth that occured all of this
I had a friend... My best friend but sadly its like we are completely drifting apart... I remember how close we were yet he doesnt try to talk even anymore even though we were friends for 10 YEARS... Ik its not like gojo and geto still.... I consider him my brother so sometimes i think what made us like this
@@lucifertheend Jeez.. even though it's been 10 whole years you've known each other they just willingly drift away? I hope you can find a new friend that won't toss you out when they've gotten bored of you, and won't have it so you're the only one reaching out
this encapsulates the exact feeling I felt at the pit of my stomach, while scrolling through my former best friend's photos.. our friendship started in high school and ended 5 years ago. I'm 28 now, she is a year younger (in months). Seeing how much she's changed, how much her morality and core beliefs changed, and after hearing all the terrible things she's done from former classmates, it's insane. I relate to Gojo so much. I still have dreams where we're best friends again. But then I see her selfies in my waking life, her unhinged tweets, and it hits me hard. It's hard to describe, but while her smile brings back memories, something just doesn't feel right, like there are shadows in her eyes.
Geto's body acted out against Kenjaku not because he was alive, but because protecting Gojo is such a knee jerk reaction that the body moved on it's own.
i cried watching this scene, the music was as if it could describe everything gojo felt when he saw "geto" again even though i don't really understand how. thank you so much for this, this arrangement is really beautiful
goodness I nearly started crying... when I first watched this scene I couldn't stop thinking about it that night and for the next several days when I thought of JJK. what everyone is saying about the scene and the music in the comments plus the childlike quality to the music, same with "If I Am With You", really just AHHHHH my project is due in 4 minutes but rn idc T^T
Just imagine thinking your bestfriend also your only friend was back from the dead, just for you to discover their body was taken over by someone and you get sealed away by them
Live action media will never touch anime. This is so much emotio. Too real, yet so far from reality it's like an escape. For one moment i can forget about bills, forget about my tax dollars being used for evil, forget that everyone i love is either gone or on their way out, i can forget i dont have friends, forget about how I've gained weight, forget about insecurities, and i can just escape and feel and love and cry for characters that ive never met without judgement
Thats kinda a stretch, there are live action movies and series that can evoke these levels of emotions, as well as eastern media in general that also does imo
Seeing Satoru and Suguru's past made me rethink every scene during season 1 and 0. Everything I watched and I never fully understood Suguru's character. He became evil yes, but that doesn't make it less painful seeing what the the two went through. Suguru's last episode in the first ark was so hard to watch. Seeing a man once so full of life and confidence, just to see emptiness and a feeling of powerlessness after he couldn't save Riko from those evil and disgusting people. To suffer over a year and having that hollow look in his eyes broke my heart.
In my opinion it'd be even more awesome if it was the exact same song but without the single repeating wrong note to show that Gojo and Geto are finally truly back together
theres a really good ost in this episode, around 13:40 when gojo about to use the domain expansion, piano and then mixed a few part of "Delirious" (the ost when gojo fight with toji 2nd time) maybe you can make cover on that 😁
This hits so much harder bc of the the fact that the first 10-15mins was just feral gojo fight scenes and high paced music. Tho i alraedy know what's gonna happen, it felt so jarring to suddenly hear this soft, hopeful music playing, only to get caught off guard _again_ when the music takes this sudden dip in tone before the flashbacks to his youth started (felt like taking a breather only to realize that something's wrong). And the fact that this played again right when geto (or whatever's left of him) awakens to choke the imposter out?? like. damn mappa.
This song both sounds warm of a reunion with someone you've longed for seeing again, someone extremely close to you, and yet cold of the realization that who you're seeing couldn't possibly, logically and physically be there. Such a conflicted theme, you can't even blame Gojo for entertaining the thought that Geto was back from the dead. You can't blame him for accepting getting sealed in the Prison Realm by his own "friend", you can't blame him for trusting his eyes for the duration of time it was needed to get him sealed, but then it was too late to reconsider. His heart betrayed him. And then there's the other side of the story. This song sounds particularly sinister when seeing from the perspective of Kenjaku, who just managed to complete the first phase of his goal. It's decieving, it's haunting, it's scary, specially the implications. All the rights in this song are wrong, and all the wrongs in this song are true: Kenjaku is pretending to be Geto, and he'll play that role and any role that is, as long as he keeps moving forward with his objectives. The start and ending of the song, sound of ice, and they tell what that you need to know about him. Kenjaku isn't a warm body as much as he'd like you to believe: he's cold, both his body and his self. He's heartless, a monster; the most evil sorcerer in history.
This. That tone shift with that one note, while the rest of the song is serene and peaceful.... it feels the musical personification of an evil soul with a easy-going smile.
this is the best theme in jujutsu kaisen, not because of how good it is itself, but instead because of how well it pairs with the moment. it's beutiful, as was gojo's and geto's relationship, but then there is something wrong with it. those little out of key moments symbolise how something is wrong with geto, and how it cant actually be geto. truly an amazing piece of art by mappa.
Here 1:09 when the song hits a minor key instead of a major key. To me it’s like the song telling us that this is not Getou. The whole song maintained a light and simple pattern. But once that point in the song comes along it’s like the song is telling us that ths is not Getou.
