You saved my life, After seeing this,I had my mole checked and it led to cancer checks of my whole body. I ended up with skin cancer and a tumor they found during the check. I'm in treatment early now. Thank You for saving my life !!
I have the same thing. Found it two years ago on my cheek, close to my ear. Had it cut out. I went to the doctor with another spot yesterday. Confirmed b. cell again. Getting it cut off in a month. Know your body. So scary but thankful if I have a type, it’s this one. 🙈🙏🏻
Hi honey, I'm 65 years old. I have had 75 biopsies, 2 melanomas. Day before yesterday I saw a new dermatologist. He counted 32 more places. He did 16 biopsies. 1 was a mole. My body has taken a drastic skin cancer. I managed tanning salons. I also now have a mass in my right breast and Thursday I'm having a stage 4 place cut out and my surgeon is pretty definite it's breast cancer. How bad I have it, time will tell. My husband has been so sick. I've been taking care of him. Our home and everything in it has been destroyed. I just put off my health bc I worried so much about him. We are living in an extended stay and I'm not sure how much more I can take. Please continue telling your story. I've had most of my nose cut out and plastic surgery. I love u on Instagram and just am so happy you're telling your story. Women, teens, men women all need to get checked.
I'm sending my best wishes to you... You have been dealt a horrible blow ...and one person handling all of this is very taxing. I so understand your putting off your health for the sake of others...I know, as I have done that also with my ill family. You must put yourself first now... It is awful to think back to your career and thinking this may have been a cause....stress is also a cause of cancer. I just wanted to know how you are now ? I'm hoping your life if somehow better.
May God bless you , please on onward try to avoid raw vegetable eating eat once it's cooked secondly please avoid raw chicken in any form and drink termeric water and eat raw garlic empty stomach as raw garlic piece a day can kill cancer cell as it's purify blood and help in bad cholesterol, try to avoid sun direct now days too , pray for your good health and happiness 🙏
@@ShineyGupta258Also garlic can kill of parasites raw(don't eat to much) start with a clove or 2. Those parasites can take up our immune system. Keep clean. Sleep alot (sleep heals). Personally I love mini peppers you get in bags. I eat them like apples. There overloaded with C and fiber! The red are strongest.
😢 mam it's very sad hearing your story. I think it's a fault of doctors that were not able to detect it at first place, and now it spread to your breasts. It is stage 4 I guess. Greedy doctors who go after money is one of the biggest problems in medical industry behind spread of disease. I pray to God that you will fully healed from your cancers permanently. 🙏 OM SHANTI.
Thank you Amber for bringing awareness to this on your platform. At 40 I started routinely having my yearly body check with my dermatologist. I have always been one to be in the sun during the summer. Wishing you the best and a speedy recovery!!
@@crazynaska I'm not sure if sunblocks can cause cancer. I am suspicious of the chemicals used in many of today's sunblocks. I do know a deficiency in vitamin D can increase the risk of cancer. Last time I wore sunblock was probably 8 years ago. I no longer wear sunblock. I am an advocate for natural health. I have treated myself naturally for many illnesses. If I ever got cancer, it would not be the exception. I would treat it naturally as well. Natural remedies are my extreme weapon.
My spouse had a melanoma rem fed and they said no further treatment because of its “ depth” - not thick enough. But now we are awaiting biopsy on axillary node , praying not melanoma metastasis
Thank you for sharing. My husband had a small cancer on his nose from years of working out doors. We all need to be reminded, it can happen. God bless and best wishes for speedy healing.
Thank you so much. I have a spot that I’ve been worrying about and you have convinced me to get it checked. I hope your procedure goes well, and that there will be no recurrences. Again thank you for this very important video.
I has a really stubborn Basal cell on the top of my head - it took 4 cut outs by 2 deferent Doctors. Finally it has not come back - I go every 6 months to get a body check up.
You did a good thing by sharing your story. We all know about cancer but we never think we can have it. This video is just a reminder that anyone can have cancer, we just need to be serious about our health.
My male friend had melanoma. He has always been really healthy, but reckless with sun. Now I encourage all my male friends to use sunblock. My mother has always be warning me of the dangers of sun. Even though we live in Scandinavia, ultraviolet levels have been really high this summer. Thank you for sharing your story! Keep us posted.
Thanks Amber. This is an important message. I live in Australia and the sun here is vicious. I have skin that tans easily but I have had literally dozens of BCCs removed (and a more worrying SCC). I have regular skin checks and am also vigilant about any changes that I observe. Mine is the result of teenage years living on the beach and not wearing enough/any sunscreen.
I had a very small area on my face that was just dry. No mole, no redness just wouldn’t respond to creams and lotions. I showed doctor during a physical and she said doesn’t look suspicious. Went to dermatologist and had biopsy. It was squamous cell carcinoma. No family history. After mohns surgery and plastic surgery it’s all gone. I go every 6 months for skin checks now.
I have a patch like that on my face. I never really thought about it, but it just came up sometime about two years ago. I also never really see a regular PCP, but decided to finally do that this year. She asked me if the spot on my face has always been there, and when I said no, she said I should see a dermatologist. The dermatologist fit me in just three days later and immediately took a sample for biopsy. She said it looks like squamous cell carcinoma, but I have to wait a week to find out. How long did you have the patch before you got it checked?
I recently went in for a spot I have known for awhile. I came back Melenoma. Luckily they were able to remove it all. I had a feeling what it was and put it off. The procedures were painless and relatively quick. Don’t put it off. If it spreads it’s too late.
I had a small dot under my eye and they wanted me to get it taken off because it would become skin cancer eventually. I had a plastic surgeon do it because they said my eye would droop. He cut an eye shape horizontally and got it tested while I was knocked out to make sure he went deep enough. He left it open and stitched my eye lids together so I didn’t move it. After a week I was freaking out because my eye wanted to open and it couldn’t, so he took the Stich out. I was amazed, you see nothing. Amazing how it mended together with no scar.
So glad you are sharing your story to help others be aware. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Tip for you when you are cleared to apply something on the scar break open a Vitamin E capsules massage it in once or twice a day. I did this on my scars for my bilateral mastectomy in January, it really helped it heal nicer especially where I did cupping. I get seen by the dermatologist twice a year for whole body checks. I made the mistake of living in the sun putting baby oil on in my teenage years in Florida. From experience if you have anything that doesn't seem right to you even if they've removed it and say they have clear margins have them go back in again . I did this and had to have it cut out about four or five times. Also keep a check on your face, temples ears and nose for red, dry or anything out of the ordinary if exposed to the sun frequently. You know your own body more than the doctors do. ❤ Lisa
Not many people talk about this for sure. And it's so important. Before the pandemic there's dermatology offices that will check your skin for free and give you recommendations. I had checked the spots on my body too and was told things are fine but to always wear sun screen. I pray for you and hope that you don't get anymore major skin cancer.
This is such an important topic! Thank you for bringing attention to it. Women talk all the time about makeup and skincare but not enough about getting checked for skin cancer etc. Everyone should really do an annual check with a dermatologist who can track any changes.
Thanks for sharing Amber. I'm glad you got your skin checked! I've had basal cell skin cancer too and now get checked every four months. Please update us after your procedure. Im sure you've helped many people today with your video!!
Thank you for sharing, it’s so important! I recently cancelled my body check appointment for something frivolous, but will be calling tomorrow to get it back on the books, so thank you again!
Hi Amber, thanks for sharing your story! My daughter never wear sunblock and we lived in Texas with brutal heat. I’m going to share this video with my daughter. Please keep us updated on your doctor’s appointment. We can talk about handbag any day but I truly appreciated you share your personal story. Take care.
I’ve had quite a few BCC’s over the years…face, back, arms, top of head etc. In some cases they suggest MOHS surgery or cutting the growth out, but I have learned over the year this is not always necessary and it is a pretty invasive procedure. Best is to use Aldera creme which takes about 6-8 weeks and kills the cancer. Andera is a prescritpion med.
I lived for easters at the beach and getting that first great tan ! I’m 61 and jus noticed a brown lesion on my arm. Going to get it checked…keeps doctors in business. I have 3 dogs, 3 bunnies, 1 cat and box turtles that need me so I have to be careful!
Hello Amber. Definitely awareness about the dangers of sun exposure is so important. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the UK...as it is, I'm sure, in many other countries. With the constant erosion of the ozone layer in our atmosphere, skin cancer is getting more common. My husband has had squamous skin cancer on his arm following a trip to the Caribbean. He also had to have a basal cell skin cancer removed from his forehead. He has been told by his consultant to always cover up in the sun. This is someone who used to love sitting in the sun. It's dangerous and we need more education...so thank you so much for putting your story out there. It can happen to anyone.
I'm in the same place I'm 40 I found i had it in my eye in my freckle of early stage melanoma & have to go under surgery. I am so so scared for my life of me & afraid for vision loss in the affected eye which is in my right :( it doesn't run in my family & I got it out of no where. I have no clue if it traveled to my body. I pray to god it don't. I have 4 yr old daughter who I can't live with out she's my life & a husband. don't neglect your skin & eyes wear all sun block wear, sun screen, hats, polarized eye glasses, body suits for the beach or any where there is water you go in. no uv lamps, or led lights, tanning beds, gel polish is very harmful for eyes & skin. all of it can cause skin cancer or you can get any where on the body yes even in the eye like me! it's very serious & real! save your self for protection so it don't happen to you!!
I find it odd that when a person has cancer, everyone worries so much, that is, unless you have skin cancer. My mom had skin cancer that led to pancreatic cancer and bone cancer. It was hard to watch. I have no clue why it's looked at as not as serious as other cancers. It's brutal and spreads through the body and takes life daily. I think skin cancer needs more attention on society.
I had a small growth on my hand that had been there for months. I watched a RU-vid video of Purse on fleek who had a skin cancer cut out of her face, and this prompted me to get it checked earlier this year. Luckily, I was able to get it cut out and it was a good thing that I did, because it was a squamous cell carcinoma. It hasn't spread and the Dr managed to get it all. A great message "If you have a spot, GET IT CHECKED". Thank you for sharing your story, I am sure that it will help someone catch something early so that it doesn't develop into something more serious xx
Thank you so much Amber for sharing your personal story with us. Even though I wear sunscreen daily I have to remind myself to put it on my chest and ears and your situation has made me become more diligent now. I know this video will be helping other people as well and that’s such a wonderful thing. Wishing you all the best!💗💗💗
Thank you so much for opening your heart and sharing your plight. Through your example it has helped to remind us all how necessary it is to protect ourselves from the sun. Thank you so much for your honesty. You are truly appreciated!
Thank you for this video…perfect timing. I have a spot on my shoulder and thought nothing of it. I will be making an appointment with derm to get it checked out! Sending you all the best xo
Thank you so much for sharing your story, Amber, as I'm sure this will motivate others to get checked out. ❤️🥰 I had a scare with an area on the bridge of my nose; I was very fortunate that it was not skin cancer and since I have consistently worn sunscreen on exposed areas, and do so on my face and neck, all year round. I'm so glad your husband encouraged you to get a check up, and your biopsy results show that your spot is not a melanoma. 🙏🏻 Good luck with your removal surgery. Thinking of you and sending you love and healing wishes. 😘💕✨
Thanks. With the ozone layer eroding, the dangerous UV is stronger now. As much as I dislike having to put on sunscreen, I do it and I wear a hat now! I remember my dad having spots removed from his face before they became cancerous. He looked awful while the spots were healing!
thank you amber for sharing this with us. my first time on your channel and i can tell you that you have reached more people then you know. i have a griend in church she just texted me that her biopsies came back positive for the same cancer. shes having BOHS surgery done on her nose and face. i hope all goes well for you and may God bless you.
Melanomas can also appear under one’s nails (hands and feet). It often looks like a thin line extending from cuticle to tip of finger. It can be mistaken for something benign that looks similar. And POC can also get skin cancers, including melanoma. It’s a good idea for everyone to get an annual skin check with a dermatologist. And stay away from tanning beds! I’m no medical professional, btw.
I never understood this let's see and watch. I got checked about 5 years ago and they all had pictures taken and measured. Just recently I have one that was on my leg and for some reason I scratched it and it bled. So I made an appointment to have it looked at and she practically removed the entire thing for a test. I now have a gaping hole in my leg. Now I have to wait. I hate this part. Not knowing and not doing anything is mental torture.
I developed a BCC in my late 20s which was a real shock. I'm really struggling with not fixating on every mark on my skin now, esp as I know having had a BCC raises your risk of melanoma. I'm surprised to hear they've said they'll check your skin every couple months - where I am in the UK unfortunately you're lucky to get seen once a year. I've been paying to be seen privately more often but can't afford as much as I'd like, and many people wouldn't be able to afford that at all.
My mole has turned white and is itchy constantly. It also crusts up around the edge. I will be calling doctors tomorrow. I’ve had this for over a year now. Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you Aber I went to the Dermatologist after coming back from vacations in Mexico i noticed small bumpy spot on my left chick the doctor took it out for biopsy and it came back positive for : "Basal cell carcinoma " My Father died from Melanoma so I knew I am in high risk , I am glad I went in early to take care that. Thank you very much I am little bit scared to go back for the second visit as ( I am afraid of needles ) when they will take it out completely but it looks like I have no choice . Thank you and i hope you will be ok , and I hope I will be ok . Michal
Hi Amber! Growing up on the Island of Guam where the weather is sunny or rainy but majority of the year it's sunny, I too did not wear sunscreen during my childhood and teen years. It wasn't unitl my mom was diagnosed with basil skin cancer on her nose years 8 years ago. Praise GOD MD Anderson in Houston was able to take it out. Mom is doing great! I have had a thorough skin exam with a dermatologist and monitor my moles, birth marks, and freckles frequently along with getting a women's wellness exam yearly. I also wear sunscreen all over my body and face. I wear a wide brim hat if I am going to be outdoors for a long period of time. Since my mom being diagnosed with skin cancer and losing my husband to pancreatic cancer(he was 49). I make it a point to do my part in getting screened/checked yearly!
I have the same skin spot as u on my hand and honestly I did become concerned after getting 2 more on my left leg and did worry about skin cancer. I will be calling my Dr tomorrow to make an appointment asap Thank you for sharing
Moles can look so different. I have been getting annual skin checks in my 20s bc I had s questionable mole and had it biopsied and it had atypical cells so he had to get a clear border. Every year I just go. Some moles on my skin look weird but they are normal. I never went to tanning booths but I have had a couple bad burns when I was younger . One burn can lead to cancer ! Get checked. Even if you don’t think you see anything.
How you handled this with Positivity is beyond me, I am absolutely terrified right now of the flesh coloured mole that appeared and has been on my shoulder I am possibly sure a good few months now, it hasn't really changed size, but I am anxious about it... maybe I should get it checked... the only thing is, I get scared to do it. :( xxx
Please go to a dermatologist now. It may be nothing, but either way, you’ll be better off knowing and treating it if it’s necessary. I know how scary it is. Even if it’s melanoma, it’s very curable if caught early. Wishing you all the best.
Thanks for sharing this. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with skin cancer on my nose. So this is not good surgery and she put me onto a chemotherapy cream to use twice a day for two weeks. The cream only attacks the cancer and part of my face is bright red and scaling and sore. I now have to wait another two weeks for it to go and then repeat the procedure to see that it is all gone. It is sore and burning and tight and I have to use a mask on my face outside. Please people be careful of the sin🙏🌺🔥😊
Hi Amber, oh my goodness, thank u so much for sharing this. Recently I have noticed few but didn’t think anything but now I’m worried n going to make doctors appointment . Thank u so much🙏🙏💞
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I hope you are ok. 🙏🙏💕. My husband grew up by the ocean and never used sunscreen and for a number years now he is getting things cut off his face head and ears.
My sun exposure when I was in my teens and 20’s came from Long Island beaches. About 5 yrs. ago they discovered a small dark freckle that looked suspicious. Turned out to be melanoma, luckily grade 0. Had to have Mohs surgery. There wasn’t any sunscreen when I was young. My ancestry is English/Irish so staying out of the sun very important. Please get checked.
Pay close attention to the chin area also. About 4 years ago the derm found one place on my face and put me on a chemo cream for 3 weeks. My chin became so inflamed it destroyed my skin barrier. The nurse told me the chin is where people get damage the most on the face, even though I could not see any damage on the outside before I used the cream. A hat is great along with sunblock, but I did notice the sun was still barreling in on your chin. I say this out of concern as someone who has a 2 in scar on my leg from a basil cell carcinoma and another 2 inch scar on a spot where yours is. That was squamous cell carcinoma which can potently become more dangerous. My daughter at 16 suddenly had an odd, shaped mole appear in her back. I got her in right away and it had already had precancerous melanoma cells. My niece went to the tanning bed once and got a bad burn on her butt cheek. A year later a place formed, and it was stage 4 melanoma. The report said it was condusive to a bad burn. It was all removed they both have to be checked often along with myself. This is serious. Thanks for the awareness.
Yeah I got one I have to get checked too. I had it for a long time but it is now evolving weird. Not a place that’s ever been really in the sun though. Thanks for the reminder and happy that you’re having this removed :-)
Thank you for your video. I had a place biopsied in May and it was cancer. I go periodically to my dermatologist to be checked. I hope you are doing well. God bless. ❤
That is fully not supported by the scientific community. Sunscreen is proven by legitimate and peer reviewed research to protect the skin from UV rays. UV rays cause skin damage and cancer!
I had one on my nose about 15jrs ago My dr cut it out in his consulting room.Hi send it away and came back and it was cancer.I'm67jrs old now and it didnt came back But after today i will really check my body and be more aware.thanks for your testemony.
I have a growth that appeared on my face that looks nearly identical to yours. I'm 37 and it appeared about a year ago. Thought nothing of it but thought it was weird. It hasn't changed much except it's grown some. I'm making an appt ASAP. Thank you!
You wait months and often over a year to get an appointment with a dermatologist here in NS Canada. Even if you have been treated for pre cancer areas for years. Likewise in other provinces.
Glad you shared your story. For the past 6 mphs I have had to BC skin cancers removed and 2 were mohs surgery. I am 63 and just now learning about this. I love being outside but sunscreen is a must. The real good ones come out white and Hard to rub in. If you find a good one let me know. Also to all the avid tanning bed lovers like I once was they do a lot of damage no matter what they say. Hope all goes well with your surgery! Also have you found a good makeup with sunscreen in it? I
Thank you for sharing. I have spots on both of my arms and my wife thinks they are skin cancer. Her dad had the same looking thing years ago that was skin cancer. Thank you, Marty
I have BCC as well. Mine is on my face & chest with a few new ones that have started in new spots again next to the spots on my chest and face. I was in shock when I was diagnosed. After I left the Dr office. I went sat in my car and was numb. The realization of it makes you live life better than before. Yet, I apparently had this for many years prior to finding out (@ 39). Because my chest spot was lifted and rough than the shiny spot started so after watching it an not thinking anything about it. I went in and was diagnosed. I had no idea how to break it to my mom because she just had buried my twin sister (2013) and my dad just had been diagnosed with leukemia and his dad with prostate cancer. Well, I'm 44 now and have had brain surgery to emergency appendix surgery to emergency partial historectomy than a year later the other side done than a year lady gall bladder surgery than a year later tube in my ears. Needless to say I've been having a different surgery since brain surgery in Jan 2016. God has my back no doubt about that lol. Any type of cancer socks. Yet ya keep being you and amazing and a world changer.
I had skin cancer removed in three spots, but none of the spots were previous freckles or moles: it just grew on my skin. Beware of any strange spots growing! Because of this I didn’t think it could be skin cancer in my first spot and I now have a huge gash cut out of my leg…
Thank you for sharing your story. I just found a small one on my foot. I'm very scared. My mom passed 2018 from squamous cell carcinoma. How are you doing now?
@@AmberAshleigh35 that's good you're doing well. If you feel comfortable in the future please let us know how you are and such. I'm hoping mine is nothing really bad as well
I lost my sister to cancer 4 years ago. she found it 7 years before that. we come from a family history as well. im red headed, but she was more italian and greek, so dark complexion, so she didnt take all the precautions I did. yes, the name of the game with cancer is prevention and early detection. some cancers grow wide, some grow down. There's no way of knowing before a biopsy, so Id recommend is just go, if you or someone spots just go. I promise, you wont ever regret that, but you'll regret putting it off.
Back in the day it was the thing to slather yourself in some sort of oil and bake yourself in the sun for hours. Or go to the tanning bed daily. I seriously cringe every time I think about what I put my skin through. I am so glad you got checked and that you’re going to be ok.
I just want to say, you have the sweetest husband! Hope the fast few years you’ve been bcc free. I’m only 23 but I want to see a dermatologist. I have a spot on my nose that seems suspicious, and a few other sus spots. I’m in the lower end of the financial situation in America, with no insurance, I just hope I can afford it
Thank you. I got a growth that started three months ago and it kept growing. I went to my dermatologist and they did an autopsy and I haven’t gotten the results yet. But your right everyone needs to be aware what is going on with their body.
