Honestly this is such a breath of fresh air. Finally someone sharing a normal skin care routine rather than one with 15 steps of products costing hundreds of euro each, which of course they didn't all purchase but got for free instead. Please don't ever change.

Agreed. It’s not the price that makes good skin care, it’s the ingredients. There are so many fantastic brands that don’t cost the Earth. Besides, everyone’s needs are different. For example, my routine includes a caffeine-based serum that I dab under my eyes to minimise my dark circles. Others may not need this, and it’s pointless adding it to your skincare if it’s unnecessary. People sometimes use certain things just because, but they might be wasting their money.

When I apply eye cream, I use only my ring finger (l’annulaire) and tap, never rub. Decades of practicing piano taught me that this is the weakest of the fingers, so maybe it causes less “drag” on the sensitive skin around the eyes. Let me know what you think 💭 Also, I use a generous amount of rather heavy face/neck cream (I’m 62 and I need it!!) I like Vanicream: no fragrance, dyes, lanolin, parabens, formaldehyde. A one pound pump tub is around $15 at pharmacy chain stores. My dermatologist recommended. My skin has become very sensitive since my mid-50’s. I like also Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore and Neocutis Lumière Bio-restorative eye cream. In general, not wearing makeup since mid-March (pandemic) has improved my skin overall.

I had a horrible reaction to a new skincare item over lockdown: red, raised, burning, puffy, peeling like crazy for >2 months. One tip: always 24hr patch test on forearm. Also, CeraVe (lighter) and Eucerin (heavier) creams are fragrance free and have ceramides: godsends for repairing damaged skin. Love the cool pack tip, will remember this for those puffy mornings after working late!🙏

Merci, Justine! Fun & inspiring video. Like many other commenters, I love that your product choices are sensible & accessible rather than over-packaged, over-perfumed, overpriced ones. Also love the surprise ending: I'd spent the entire video marveling over how very chic & clean your bathroom looks! I'm definitely going to try the cold pack on my eyes. I laughed when we got to the eyebrow part: I once had a roommate who made me solemnly swear that if there were ever an emergency & she had to be rushed, unconscious, to the hospital, I wouldn't let them carry her out until I'd drawn on her eyebrows. Luckily that never happened, but I would have honored her wish for sure.

After buying some emergency skin care at a pharmacy in Sicily years ago, I got hooked on Caudalie and now my entire skincare routine is Caudalie. I was so glad when it started gaining a cult following in the US because now I don’t have to stash my luggage full every time I go to Europe. 🥰 It’s so hydrating-almost “too much”-and my combo skin finally balanced and is so dewy now. I do love The White Company hand sets (Wild Blackberry is delicious), and their body scrub is really gentle and creamy and hydrating all at once (I use Seychelles because it layers well with any perfume I wear.) I’m clueless about concealer and can never find a match, and have been looking for a good BB or tinted moisturizer since I don’t really wear makeup but get redness in my cheeks. My best weapon is that I tint my eyelashes and eyebrows every time I go for facial threading. It totally changes my look and makes me look more put together, which is so helpful in these days where I don’t take too much pride in how I look... NOTO Botanicals color sticks are great for a light color on lips or cheeks. Super moist and more like a tinted moisturizer.

Lets be honest, winter in Northern Europe... SPF 15 means you are protected from the harmful rays for approx 10 times 15 minutes (assuming you are super fair skinned). How long are you outside during daylight hours in England in winter? (Having lived both countries, I can assure you that winter in Berlin in more miserable than most places in the UK, unless you live in the outer Herbrides, maybe)

Hi Justine, Started looking at your videos from about 2 weeks ago and I am so grateful for your little tips, advices, especially for the high quality eye cream you mentioned in this video above from La Roche-Posay. I couldn't use eye cream for years and I really thought I won''t be able to use it ever because my eyes are very sensitive. Unfortunately this can be seen very well on the skin around my eyes being pretty far from the 30's. Finally getting this one, my eyes don't become red, dried and irritated as usual before from all the eye cream I tried, now my skin gets well hydrated, calmed and I just look radiant :) In these two weeks I learnt a lot from you and also realised how easily man can be addicted to your adorable, helpful presence, how much we need this kindness and the fair, down to earth presentation of many many things we face day by day. Keep up the good work, a very thankful follower.

A French brand I love is Yves Rocher. It's the only brand I buy perfume from because I find their scents unique (at least compared to American perfumes. They all smell the same to me). Their skincare is excellent as well, but my skin is so sensitive I don't use many of their products; they're not bad, my skin is just super picky. Their wrinkles and firmness resurfacing lotion is amazing, it acts like an extremely gentle exfoliant that surprisingly doesn't make me break out. I aim to use it 2 nights each week, but I often forget 🤷🏼‍♀️ Love the video! 😊👍🏻💕

Justine, thank you so much for this! I am reassured in my love for many things Nivea seeing you use their products. Also, it's reassuring to see that you don't use SPF in Europe during winter - I wasn't totally sure about that and haven't incorporated an SPF product for winter yet. We have similar complexions, down to the color of the skin and hair, and this is very useful. I am very lucky to have an unproblematic skin, and my routine evolved in the last years from soap water for cleaning and an oil for face and neck ( Clarins or a bottle of argan oil I bought in a beauty shop in Morocco) to soap water and using a vitamin C/hyaluronic acid serum + moisturizer from Cerave in the morning, and a vitamin A/retinol serum + moisturizer from Cerave in the evening now, at age 40. It feels enough. I sometimes forget the evening routine and don't feel any lacking the next day.

I love a simple and reasonably priced skin care routine. I love Laroche Posay as well. I am really enjoying BioDerma's Atoderm oil body wash over the winter.

You worked in Chile? OMG 😍 here we have a brand of creams called "pielarmina" is one of the cheapest and oldest brands we have (like my grandma used) and is one of the best, it super hydrating and you have with or without fragrance.

1) Nuxe body oils are the gospel. You are so right- no need for perfume after applying. Usually I would apply right after taking a shower and patting myself just slightly dry- still damp. 2) I use Beauty Pie ( a subscription based beauty brand) Japanfusion line and their retinol, really gentle, moisturizing and effective. Also, I use Lancome Genefique serum- it's expensive, but good for winter months.

Thank you Justine. I love Derma-e brand skin care. It is pure, does not irritate my sensitive skin, and keeps my skin soft. I use a microdermabrasion scrub, a mask, eye serum and face cream.

Nivea Q10....after spending lots of money on brands, I get back to this product ( one of my fav when I was much younger and broken 😂😂😂😂) but in the back of my mind, I was asking myself if it was just an impression that it works better, especially during the cold months, than the expensive brands and here it pops this video...❤️

Anything French: LaRoche Posay I have used Effaclar for years, Toleriane, now trying Nutritic (smells like Nuxe!) and for the body Lipicar in winter. Hair it's Klorane, olive is great for hair loss and mango or date for dry hair. German...Nivea in the blue tin is always a life saver (especially for dry hands after all that Purel) Love your video Justine! Et joyeuses fêtes 🤶🏻🎅🏻

Would love a video with your take on all the “fashion greats” we have lost recently, Kenzie, Lagerfeld, etc. and their marks/contributions to our every day fashion lives. Also how the pandemic has changed the fashion industry? Are more designers using resources closer to home? Heard yellow is the 2021 color, how / who picks that? thoughts for using it in wardrobe? Thanks for all your hard work!

My favorites: •Beyer und Söhne Dayshade (the best sunscreen ever!) Hautcreme, Hautgel. •Junglück all oils, AHA-Peeling. •Age Attraction Niacinamide Serum. •Lovely Day Hyaluron Nectar and Hyaluron Glow Mask. All brands are German, Lovely day is based in Berlin 😉 Mostly products are fragrance free and for my very sensitive rosacea skin perfect 👌🏻

Wow, what a lot of steps you take. You look great. My routine takes five minutes at the most using just a couple of products. I don't think I would have the time to apply numerous creams and serums and lotions like you do. I have just turned 60, so I don't have youth on my side anymore. All the same, most say that I look a lot younger than my age. I think I look early 50s - but mainly because my jawline is now quite ill defined - typical of an ageing face which fits the 'sagger' profile rather than the 'wrinkler' profile. The rest of my facial skin is extremely good - with little puffiness and no wrinkles (just a few hairline crows around my eye, a bit of redness around the cheeks). My body skin is very smooth and unlined and young looking. That's down to not sunbathing - ever. I also don't drink much (alcohol) and gave up smoking 10 years ago nearly. I don't go in for faddy 8 glasses of water a day. I drink liquid when I am thirsty, that's it. I eat and drink well, not junk food. Maybe a bit too much sugar. I don't spend a lot on skin products either. All of mine are very affordable for average budgets. Not for me the h igh end super pricey stuff. If I invest money at all in expensive products, it goes on high end foundation and lipstick, which I never skimp on. You can tell a cheap foundation at a 100 paces. Looks thick, cakey and unnatural - not like natural skin at all. Lipstick that doesn't stick in horrible cheap colours are not worth wearing at all. Blush and mascara I find I can spend less on and no one notices. As it happens, I use Lancome mascara, which is pricier, but I have bought Rimmel before. After a shower I just use E45 lotion on my face and all over my body. Then I only use a bit of Boots No. 7 serum (when wearing make up) and Boots No.7 Lift and Luminate Rich day and night creams I use a Lancome concealer to cover a couple of minor brownish discolourations in my face brought on through age. I also apply some Boots No.7 green primer to tone down the red, if applying make up. Nothing else. For lips I can fully recommend Blistex Intensive Moisturiser SPF 10 (tube). Far more effective and instantly comforting than any greasy twist up lip balms, which don't work that well for me. I won't use anything else. For winter dried hands I use Le Roche-Posay Cicaplast Mains just before going to bed where the cream has plenty of time to absorb. It's the most fantastic handcream although it is a bit heavy and greasy straight out of the tube. It's great for older hands or if your hands are dried and chapped. Otherwise, I use Loccitane shia butter hand cream in summer when sweat already plumps up the skin, smoothing it to a more youthful appearance, and anything heavier could cause hives and itching (which I am prone to in summer, especially). Other things I do: use Appri Apricot kernel facial scrub on my face after washing my face (to rid it of dead skin), I also brush my body skin occasionally. For feet I alwasy use CCS foot cream. Brilliant rich cream that absorbs well and does a good job of moisturing rough heels and thinning foot skin.
