equipment used- korg es1 electribe alesis q49 fender champion amp samples - (sic) intro Duality (Piano) Dead Memories (Piano) Eyeless Intro Here Comes The Pain Spit it Out Percussion Sample
There is a video on here called rare slipknot samples. On my korg es1 electribe, I plugged in a microphone and put it to my speakers and recorded from there. Then I hooked up my midi keyboard to my sampler to trigger the samples with certain keys. Thumbs up this so everyone can see
f4h1m 5h4r4r actually this video proved how useless he is, this easily could of been done by someone else in the band or one of the tech crew backstage at live shows. Not hating on Craig, but he’s literally the most useless member out of any band in existence
I would start by buying the alesis q49 midi keyboard. It's fairly cheap. It comes with a program called Ableton live lite for your computer. It's very user friendly and offers many samples and instruments to help you on your way to using samples effectively
Get a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Any of them do just fine, Fruit Loops, Ableton, Reaper.... And really learn to use it. Big part of sampling is knowing what you can do with the things you have and when to look for things when you need them. Then you get samples from various sources, movies, songs, videos on the internet, and basically manipulate them in order to sound the way you want, adding effects, cutting and pasting and etc. Putting it on a keyboard is just the final step, as a way to activate them when you want. I actually play Craig on a Slipknot Cover band and I only use a laptop with Reaper and a MIDI controller.
There are tons of websites to do so. I've even been on websites that had video game sound effects. Just get on google and type in what kind of sound you are looking for. It's pretty simple. You can even record everyday sounds at home and use them. There is so much you can do with samples
Is there a website where you can download free samples like this? I wanna reincorporate samples into the keyboard covers I do, and I need some places to start with...?
The keyboard OP is playing is being used as the controller for the sampler (Korg Electribe ES-1 Mark.I) The ES-1 uses a memory card as its sound bank, so to do this you simply load slipknot samples into card, pop her into the Electribe, then use a MIDI controller (in our case, a Keyboard) to trigger the samples at will
(MIDI is like a programming language for music, it just means it’s a Keyboard [or Controller] with the ability to transmit data back and forth with other instruments)
@@scotty2033 no problem!! nowadays you can do this much more easily (though I prefer the fun in using a pile of old equipment) by loading Craig & Sid's samples directly into a Korg "Volca Sample", sort of a portable version of the Electribe that OP's got here
If I remember correctly, there is a video on here called Rare Slipknot Samples. I also used a video that had just the vocal, extra percussion and sample tracks for Psychosocial. The piano parts I just simply played and recorded on the sampler itself. Again, if I remember correctly hope this helps.
