Over the past months I have installed a 12kW solar system on my garages. Main components are 35 Reisen Panels, a 12kW Deye Hybrid Inverter, 3 8.8kWh BSLBATT LiFePO4 batteries. and ca 500m cabel.
I monitor the production using Solar Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi 4.

Have almost the same setup.. Differences I have 2* 12 kw sunsynk branded deye's I use seplos mason boxes 280. Been working like a charm here !

Interesting,, for opening and closing the top,, you could probably also have used the same system at is used in greenhouses,, where it just opens the windows, when it becomes hot.

I did look at that type also. They use a gas piston as the actuator. I would have used it if I was not restricted on space. But they have an “elbow “ that sticks out and it would bump into the inverter in closed position. Another reason was that I had the electric actuator for years without using it for anything

The wall mounted modules being shaded by the roof overhang is cutting their production much more than them being mounted vertically. They should be shifted down so that the full surface of the modules get sun.

Yes, you are probably right. As I mention in the vid they were only mounted there because I had bought a full pallet. They do however give good production in early spring (and probably also late fall) due to our northern location 56N

Thanks for the video. How loud is the inverter in decibels? I learnt Deye is planning to release an 18kw version soon.

I think it’s fairly loud. When all fans are running you have a high pitch noise that is annoying. As I have it in the garage it doesn’t matter. However, I would not recommend to install it inside the house in a place you are close to

When I saw you had a RPI, I wanted to ask if your using SolarAssistant, then later on you confirmed, loving a simular set up that I'm just expanding to 16kw and 30kwh Bat

I'm pretty sure it is not allowed to have the PV-breakers in the same box/cabinet as the 3 phase breaker for the mains power. It's different power domains.

Might be right. I will ask the electrician. I was also recommended to add surge protection on the DC side- so maybe it will be logical to have a separate box for each

The panels are *Risen, not "Reisen". Also *cable :)

How are you running that many panels when the inverter can only handle 600 VOC?? Impossible.. from my understanding the inverter can only take 12kw pv with a 600 voc per leg. So please explain.

@@truthserum6377 I had 18 panels in one string for MPPT1. This is the max number according to the importer. MPPT2 is the odd mix of 8 from the garden garage 3 from the roof of the big garage and the 6 on the wall. The second string is of course not optimal but it still contributes. Now the system has been running for a year or so and I see maximum production of ca 72kWh for a sunny day.
