Hey step mom (which I was at one time) try recording your stepson and replay it to his dad. LOL I had two sons of my own and two step son's as well. Only one step son was a very angry kid and he ended up living with his real mom. Praise God. My youngest step son was loving, kind and even told his older brother many times be nice to mom. Well that didn't work either. I also was raising my own two son's from a previous marriage and they were upset with the oldest step brother. Finally I said to hubby if your son is wanting to live with his real mother let him go....or I will leave. Well it worked that the oldest step son went back to his real mother. Later she shared with me that she was even having trouble with his attitude, etc. etc. etc. It's amazing nobody was able to get him under control and ended up getting in trouble the older he got I heard. His mother and I were friends and she was beside herself. I felt sorry for her too. It's hard when a kid wants to control the parent(s) and yes he got into trouble outside the home as well. Some kid's have issue's but it was no longer in my control thank God. Our other 3 boy's did exceptionally well by having them active in sports, school, et. They grew up well. Not much you can do with an out of control kid sometimes.

It always seems to be a trouble maker in most families, I know I had one who had to learn the HARD WAY! After that, he got his act together and is doing well now!

It's sad that step kids don't give the new parent a chance to get to know each other. They become bitter and vindictive as well as mean spirited. Unfortunately this young man found out the hard way about the consequences of his actions. I'm glad that the husband got to see and hear first hand how rotten his son was and was willing to do whatever he could to fix their relationship.

What a disrespectful little ingrate that boy is. Who taught him to be that way? Was it perhaps dad? I know when children reach their teens, they go through a rebellious phase. I've had four children and I'm very thankful I was never faced with something such as this step mom was. This boy needs help and to be put in his place. I agree with other comments, mom should have started recording this boys appalling behavior when dad isn't home. Let's see what happens when the boy is called out.🤔

OP, WHY didn't you start recording his true behavior during the days his father was NOT around; why not install hidden cameras?

@@EileenDemirarslan I truly hope so, but there are TOO MANY STORIES like these and its so hard for me to learn that too many women tolerate this abuse! Granted, I suffered some too, but NOT AS LONG as these women did! For I learned from my OLDER SISTER'S and what they SUFFERED with their husbands and I SWORE, that I would NEVER EVER SUFFER AS THEY DID!

Aside from the previously mentioned to record your stepson with audio or video when husband is not around, you can also do other things. When there was the party, you should have called husband on speaker phone or video call. This way he could hear or see the party his son was having. If not answering, he'd have a message. And at 21, stepson can make his own lunches. He's an adult, not a child! You're not a slave. Too bad you waited so long and didn't record and talk to husband. At least husband and grandparents wised up at the end.

Ashton should have listened to his wife from them beginning & Mayb Zack would have been straighten out. U don’t get expelled from college like she said . Expelled means u have done something wrong. For example if u get caught in school with a gun/ drugs u r expelled. His father just decided not to pay the tuition but even that Zack had to b the one to pull out. Father can’t do it. In the end Zack got what he deserved. My kids & I had a stepfather & I loved mine & my kids loved theirs. Mine called him Daddy. My son told his biological father that his Dad lived at our address & he was just a friend. That’s how he felt & he had to accept that . My second husband raised them from the ages of 5 & 4.

Fool you put up with this for 10 yrs? You are as bad as the father for allowing this to go on for long. You have done this boy no favours. You have helped to create a person who will find it hard to fend for himself. All so you did not upset his father. The father should be upset. He is a bad and lazy parent. Being a coward he has kicked the son out so others will will have to deal with doing the fathers job for him. Trying to get the kid to be a decent human being. It was the fathers job to correct the mistakes he made. Not pat himself on the back for kicking the kid out with no idea of how to do anything for himself.
