You have an amazingly positive outlook on the situation! I really think this will help other people who have experienced spinal cord injuries. Best wishes to you in your recovery.
I have a T2 spine injury an I think the burn sensation is nerve pain, your injury must be incomplete so keep trying and don't give up because it's been two years for me and I I'll move my legs a certain way an it'll surprise me I wouldn't know I could do it just don't get discouraged you're doing great and it seems you have the right attitude keep making the videos because I watch them because that helps me deal with my injury so THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Tara A can you walk now? Some people who have car accidents like this will not walk for 6-12 months. I've died 3 times and I was hospitalized for 1 1/2 years and then was moved to a nursing home for 1 year. I've never met anyone else who was moved into a nursing home.
I recently subscribed and i usually go back to youtubers first videos just to see how much they have changed. I did not realize how much you have gone through. Honestly i subscribed because of a contest and watching that video i did not expect this story from you. i have to go through more of your videos because im really interested in your progress. Hope all is well. #strongaf
My friend you are really just an inspiration and I thank god that you had your seat belt on because you are here And you are amazingly strong wow what a story ❤️
its the truth girl i felt sorry for my self for a year because of my cancer and in diapers and you ar a hell of a lot stronger then i am i strongly believe your purpose in life is to get people out of there funk because you are a true inspiration xoxoxo
I've had those days too, I understand. don't think you can't be upset about what life handed you. be mad, be sad. but don't let those emotions consume you.
I'm so sorry to hear your story, but I have a lot to say. First, you're awesome, tough girl. Your going to be fine I'm sure. Moving to the vehicle you were driving. I am a mechanic with 30 years experience, this is such a coincidence that you had a Chevy Blazer. My sister asked me to fix her Blazer just last week, said it was dead. So I said no problem. Tow truck shows up at my garage, then I assess the problem, or problems I should say. The list was long, what a piece of junk this thing was. Fuel pumps go bad in these, fuel injection spiders fail, ignitions fail, and the factory security system's go haywire, often leaving you stranded. While I was researching the many issues with this roach, I stumbled on several articles that emphasized how unsafe these older Blazers were. It was an extremely unstable vehicle. So bad, that it was voted the most dangerous vehicle by Consumer Affairs. They were known to roll over quite easily, so I'm sure the vehicle played a major role in your crash. Luckily you are here to talk about it. I wish the very best to you and I know your strength and will to overcome this injury will get you walking again.
+Born to ride yeah they are known to roll. my dad told me a week before i wrecked to be careful bc of how top heavy they were and me being a teenager and knowing it all ~ i told him i'd be fine. then this happens. i won't ever own one again. i had problems from the moment i bought the thing but i rushed my purchase bc i needed a car and i wasn't educated. so i went with the first thing i found. terrible idea. i've learned now. but i'm glad the stupid thing was large enough to keep me alive and somewhat safe during the roll over.
My story was very similar to yours except I wasn't wearing my seat belt and I was ejected through the driver side window at 65 mph. I am a complete fracture at T-10 burst fractured T-10 and T-12. My accident was in 2002 and I just have recently started watching these videos and reaching out to people online that have a SCI. While I was watching this video I was agreeing with a lot of the things that you were saying because I went through a lot of the same. I am still looking for support groups if you know of any I would greatly appreciate it if you would send me a link. Every one needs someone to talk to that is in a similar situation as they are and they only friend that I had in this small town that I live in passed away a few years ago from a heat attack.
They more than likely did not see my car. I was in a DEEP ditch, right by a long line of trees so the way they were headed they more than likely didn't see me.. that's what i tell myself anyway. I don't think people could just easily drive past that and NOT want to help if they saw.
Hey Sabrina. This is Aunt Vicki. I just subscribed to your channel. I want to start keeping in touch with family more. Life is to short. I will be going back to watch all of your videos from the beginning. I love you sweetie..
Your video and blogging will be of much help to people going thru the recovery process from similar injuries. Keep it up, and best of luck. Again, how many months from the time of your accident was this video made?
Hi, I just found your video and was wondering if you watch either Squirmy and Grubs or Cole and Charisma? They are both inter-abled couples with one being paralyzed by a diving accident and one mostly paralyzed due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy. I think you would really enjoy them both and Hannah and Shane, aka Squirmy and Grubs are pretty darn funny!
Oopps movement..im a L1 incomplete para..right leg an foot came back left leg i can move but not foot an knee wont straighten out basically the reason i cant walk yet..so happy ur n good spirits..ask away if u have questions for me..if u look at my page u can see a few post injury videos..god bless
hey just now seeing this. I'm doing so much better now. sorry to hear about your family member. I'll keep them in my prayers. just know it gets better 💜
I just watched your video today for the first time. You are so uplifting and encouraging to others. How are you doing now? How is your progress? How long did it take or what had to happen for you to have such peace about your injury? Thank you for sharing your story, heart and Gods plan for you.
i’m doing amazing. i’m about to celebrate my six year anniversary of my car accident. i am in school- have a great job and a lovely partner. i still can’t walk and have little to no mice fb in my legs. i believe i was at peace pretty early on. i’ve had ups and downs but i’m content with life
It is sad that someone so young has had their life forever changed because of a car accident in which she over corrected her vehicle and ended up flipping it.
My injury was different than yours. I was walking to work and a car spun off the road and hit me. I was in a coma for a month-and-a-half. My right leg got broken so many times that A-Rod was placed instead of the bone and I cannot walk for almost a year. Walking is Still difficult for me.
