love your channel matt, and love how fair you are with your arcade machines, especially your claw machines, i have claw machines at my local stores here where I live, and their as tight and cheap as they can be, you can spent 10 to 20$ and you wont win a thing, and the claws hardly ever grab, i know its a business and you need to make money to pay for upkeep and to make a living but man most claw machine owners where I live have their machines on highest difficulty, lowest strength setting, and max profit, to where you have to play like 20 times before you win or even budge the toy, i guess i should know better. when the claw machines are always full to the brim all the time and day after day you dont see any change in the prizes and nothing even gets moved, you know there being totally unfair, I wish more people were like you, not so greedy, willing to be fair and doing it for the love of the arcade. them making money is totally fine, that's their business and they need to make a living, but at least make it a little fair, it doesn't have to be all profit, no fun. it makes you not even want to play, and the only money they get is from random kids or people who are occasional players, impulse spender or spontaneous shoppers who only did it on the way to the car. but for people like us that love the arcades and love the nostalgia and fun of it just lose out and get disheartened.... its crazy.

Matt I work at a mini golf course and they have a mini arcade inside. And our stacker keeps on going whoo hoo, keep your eye on the prize, almost there, and keep going. Whenever someone is playing it. And when no one plays it. It constantly says stacker. Come and play stacker. It is not my machine. And the person we rent it from has no idea how to fix it either. So we just put up with it. But, very helpful video Matt. Keep up all the awesome work.

Tell Auggie he should order green belts and rear rollers for the Avengers conveyors. The belts easily shred (and sometimes tear off the screws) if a coin gets stuck, and the rear roller has a tendency to shear off where it meets the motor coupling. Also, the escalator rails are low quality and tend to warp over time and allow coins to double up and jam the machine. AFAIK, they should all be in stock currently through Andamiro or Betson.

OMG Matt! Literally when you made your broken Stacker video, I literally made my video called ‘I have a unique stacker machine’. For some reason the operator is only allowed to put $2.50 max for 1 play at stacker. Mine can take up to $5 for 1 play. That video is out to public September 24 but my members can watch! Also, I get my wisdom teeth out this next week. I am so nervous but hopefully all goes well 😬 🙏

Matt you got all the best ideas for these games. Making me want to go there so bad. Did you ever try timing the card out on avengers. On some machines you can get the timing down so you get a card on the board every time. I used to get almost a hundred cards for twenty bucks which was four sets and over doubling my money. Obviously don’t do it too much as it might upset the place lol. Thanks for the video as always.

It's amazing what goes into a game. Both the programming and the prizes you offer. You definitely throw love at your customers. I would play for a vintage matchbox car. Do you have a goal to own a certain number of machines by a certain time-line or are you just nursing a few favorites? Interesting stuff.

That voice that says keep your eyes on the block is actually probably a rare voice that playes when stacker is started but no interaction

Actually Matt, that noise that Stacker made was an UNUSED RECORDING :O I'm not even kidding either. It's unknown why there are unused sounds (Yes, there are a few unused sounds the game plays when it has issues), but it doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be fixed

Some of those matchbox cars are worth a lot.

Matt, That loose silver thing is either a voltage regulator or a transistor. the silver thing is a heat sink. It may have loose solder joints on the board. If you are good with soldering just add more solder to the pins. If you are not proficient with soldering then have Greg touch up solder joints. They get loose over time and reflowing the pins with more solder fixes most issues. It fixed a low power issue I had with an 80s ghetto blaster boombox. Now it cranks. Also have him check capacitors too. sometimes they go bad.

So yeah, one or more of the address lines on a EPROM got stuck at the wrong level, resulting in it selecting the wrong samples to send to the DAC. Glad you were able to get it figured out! Really shouldn't require a replacement, worst case you get a can of spray contact cleaner and pull each EPROM and spray the socket it came from thoroughly to try and remove any oxidation. Should last virtually forever with minimal effort.

I have two sayings that the stacker lady should record. Sound board malfunction. The stacker lady will use that saying to tell you that something is wrong with the sound board. The second saying will sound a little funnier. I seem to have, a major malfunction. When stacker is fixed, the lady should record this saying. Whoo! Stacker! Back in action!

Glad you solved the audio issue, but still Greg may want to check the capacitors, especially the electrolytics. That seems to be from the time of bad, cheap Chinese electrolytics.

The black component is a transistor with a heat sink that amplifies the audio. If that transistor is loose, it could be because of a bad solder joint or a broken run on the circuit board. This could cause the sound to completely cut out. Your friend could solder some leads from the pins on the transistor to the runs on the circuit board as a cheap fix and you could probably avoid replacing the whole sound board. :-)

9:56 that’s a voltage regulator or a mosfet you should solder it securely as it might be a bad soldier joint!

I was surprised to see that many through-hole parts in what I thought was a relatively new game. It might be worth learning to solder and trying to fix that board if it happens again (especially if reseating connectors and jiggling things helps, a bad solder connection is a good bet)

I have a full size stacker red that i just bougt recently. I had to replace the power supply, all cabinet lighting. And just as I thought it was ready, i realized the speakers were buzzing. Took them both out, just to find one of the cones were crushed. When it rains it pours with these old stackers 🙄

I just got a Stacker machine that I am in the process of bringing it back to life but am missing the Power Supply and have no idea on how to wire it and if i’m missing anything, would you possibly be able to help me out, maybe send me a couple of pics of the inside or I can send you some pics of mine and you let me know what i’m missing, I’ve looked through the manuals for so long and just can’t figure it out, Thank you

@9:49 the contacts get tarnished over time. This makes it harder for the chip to connect to the board and vise-versa. Pushing them or wiggling them scratches the contacts a bit and (kinda) cleans the contacts. Completely re-seating them is a painful task. Do it only if you really have to do this.Getting them out is one thing. Getting them back in can be tricky, you can bend the legs of the chip pushing the chip back in again for example.

I have never heard the Stacker Machine say Keep Your Eye On The Block or even have different music. I wonder if there’s settings on the Stacker machine to change what it can say and the music.

That sound board should be easily repairable, especially if you were able to get it working again under the assumption that the problem is intermittent owing to wonky solder joints and/or IC connections. That should save you money compared to buying a replacement board. The recommendation to reinsert the ICs in their sockets is a good idea since the connections between the ROMs and the sockets can become marginal from time to time. The part with the metal piece, that may either be a power transistor or a power regulator. The metal piece is a heatsink, meant to help keep the part cool during operation. If it's loose on the board, that may mean the solder joints for that part may be bad. Moving it around may restore the connection, but it will go bad again if cold solder joints are the problem; give the board enough thermal cycles and the component can become intermittently connected or totally disconnected from its circuit again. The fix is easy enough if you know how to solder a circuit board: reflow the joints of the part with new solder.

I've got two Avengers coin pushers within 10 minutes of my place so pretty lucky. I've found that putting 75 plays on I'll usually fill an infinity gauntlet plus maybe one more stone (7 stones over in total). Cause of the cost of it thought it's not super worth just playing Avengers Coin Pusher IMO. Plus collecting the cards took forever, I only completed 3 sets because the worker stacking the cards back in knew me and put the Thanos I had just claimed back on the bottom.

What does it actually say if you shake the machine if- because you said it will yell at ya if you shake it

I like arcade games that talk. What is the name of the lady who did the voice of stacker? It would be nice if you could make a RU-vid video where you could talk in person with the stacker lady. You can ask her questions such as the following. When did you get started recording for stacker? What were the recording sessions like? Can you explain the meaning of keep your eyes on the block and why stacker would use that recording? After the stacker lady answers your questions, you can have her recite sayings like whoo, oh no, uh oh, game over, this is the last block, as well as the minor and major prize announcements.

Scene 75 in cleveland has the avengers coin pusher but they don't use the cards.

Also been having problems with my stacker machine. Everytime you start a game it plays the USSR anthem.
