People don’t get sick from magical flying Boogey germs. They DEVELOP the “illness” following the resolution of the upsetting event that caused it. Just like they DEVELOP cancer. If you can’t “catch” cancer, you can’t “catch” anything else. The Germ Theory has been fraud for 110 years. Repeating it over and over does not make it true.

He was pulling really good money in 1998! Idk what he thinks that proves, $400 for like 5 days, nominally 10 hours of work (even if he was working 8 hours a day) is a lot of money for 98
@zoltanzukaly7231
@zoltanzukaly7231 4 месяца назад
@@Yixdy Just looked up the average annual wage in the US in 1998, and it was 38k. Even if Tosh would have worked all weeks, all year, 500 bucks per week, that's still only 26k, so way below the national average. Also, a comedian doesn't just work 2 hours per day, that's ridiculous. You have to count traveling and writing and actually practicing the jokes too.
@naantjez

I appreciate that you are so candid about your life, both relationship and finances. I recognize your privilege and I also recognize that is YOUR privilege. It was YOUR hard work and good fortune that got you to place of being able to have and spend what and how you do. Money is such a taboo subject in America and I honestly think that the hush-hush nature of finances is a a big part of the problem people face when it comes to money. Demystify what shouldn't be a mystery to begin with. Screw the haters, keep spittin' that truth.

As a lifelong citizen of New Zealand i'm appalled that you weren't paid in full by the comedy festival. I will be taking it up with the Prime Minister in the morning, he's my neighbour, his name is Ron and he's also my plumber and a record holding sheep shearer. - You will be compensated with the largest bag of hard-boiled eggs you've ever seen. Some things i enjoyed about this episode: 1) - Your ENTIRE body cringing with embarrassment over the candles being revealed in your rider. 2) - The fact that nearly ALL of your 'sensitivities' are issues i also deal with. (other people/going places/doing things/stomach issues) 3) - Learning about how it all started and your gradual rise to world domination. (I love hearing about your well deserved financial freedom) 4) - That sweet video of you and Scott in the shower. Whenever you reveal info about yourself this podcast truly shines, you're a bit of an enigma and i LOVE that you force people to play the game YOUR way. - I have to go now and crank the generator ( that means penis).

Wow. I saw you around 2000 or so at the Comedy Works in Denver. I think it was one of those deals where they called me and said "Congratulations! You won a free comedy party for up to 30 people. 1 drink minimum". You were funny as hell back then and are still funny as hell. Watching you read your calendar from back then made me realize how hard you worked your ass off over the years to become one of the greatest. Maybe one of the greatest ever. I am funny in small groups. I make my friends laugh and I've always mused about getting on stage. Now I realize that I don't have the BALLS to be a comedian. That's the difference between you and the unwashed masses that can't pay 6 figures for an air stream or pay "new driveway money" to get our drawers lined. I've seen you a couple of times live since 2000 and you've always delivered. Thank you for making me laugh.

In the late 90s, blue collar workers were making $400-$500 for a 40+ hour week, service workers were making like $300. I'd say making $400-$700 a week for for 20 minute sets was pretty damn good. Edit: Those weekly averages for blue collar work might actually be on the high side, $300 a week is more realistic. No offense, but that spoon was at least silver plated lol.

The money you made in the 90's was still relatively good money for the time. It sounds like it would be like $15/hr which was more than twice the minimum wage back then still. The problem is socioeconomic disparity is growing and there's nothing most people can do about it. You watch rich people buy their vacation homes around you, meanwhile a lot of people can't afford a single decent home despite working a full-time job. It's nice to celebrate you success, but maybe it would be for the best if you kept your real numbers to yourself. People will inevitably feel bad about not being able to afford a home when you have so much
