My Subscriber catches a big one. I took out one of my subscribers who won a free fishing trip for my 2000 subscriber giveaway. Our target for the day was to catch keeper Mutton Snapper on Florida's Treasure Coast. He had never caught a keeper Mutton Snapper so we had to put an end to that. We left early out of St Lucie Inlet to fish reefs and wrecks. There were lots of small Sharks in shallow but managed the biggest Mutton Snapper of the day which was nearly eight pound. Due to the Sharks we pushed out to deep to almost 200 feet to fish around some structure. We caught three more keepers in that area plus a stud Red Snapper for our area. We caught another keeper Mutton at one of my six mile reef spots on our way in before calling it a day. I was using a Shimano Torium with a Star rod and Shimano Speedmaster with a Star Paraflex rod. I use 40 to 60 feet of 30 to 40 pound flourocarbon leader with 5/0 Gamakatsu octopus circle hooks. I use FisherKing weight clips. Fore bait I used Ballyhoo plugs and Wahoo belly strips I had from a recent trip. I had a great time fishing with Oscar who was one of two trip winners. He was great company and I'm glad I put him on some nice fish.
