I don't know what state you were in when this story happened, but since both of you had a parent there, probably nothing illegal happened anyway. I think this is one of those things a lot of people don't know about. And you're right that it's better to give kids a chance to try reasonable amounts of alcohol under their parents supervision and make it not be such a big deal, so then when they turn 21 they don't go on a crazy binge
