Sharing my 6 month progress training with ‪@damianneve‬ who designed a customized training program for me incorporating modern functional mobility training with an internal martial arts focused goal. This is a peek into what I have personally experienced in my progress over these months and the enormous difference it has made to save my knees. My right knee was in bad shape after years of abuse developing bad lines after two ACL surgeries and pushing them to do more than they could handle with the wrong alignments. This is a clip from my Strength & Conditioning for Tai Chi workshop taught on May 26, 2024. To view the full workshop recording, sign up to be a member of my Patreon: / aipingtaichi .
Join me and Damian on Sunday June 9 and June 23, 1PM - 3PM EST for a two-part workshop series: Enhancing Tai Chi through Correct Alignment, Structure and Strength Conditioning where we will share the details of our training program and how to identify whether you have developed the correct lines in your structure.

This made so much sense to me. I walked on the outside line so much when I was younger, I think to avoid stressing my knees, which were having issues due to rapid growth as a teenager. I also developed a lot of balance but have specific limitations because my knees and hips have specific weak points.

Technical language is a great challege for a non native speaker. I know this 'cause my native language is portuguese, and I really enjoy your classes vids 'cause it's not just talk or just pratice, so when I miss understand the instructions, the move help me to fix issues structures. And, yeah structure issues can drive to more issues and injures.

got to hear some of your philosophy... Your basically building the trunk of your tree, extending the roots... Glad to hear about your progress, I am struggling with some shoulder issues from tennis, so I was connecting with what you said at the beginning and athletes.

THANKS for this info! This is an excellent reminder of some of the specific "body alignments" that I continue to preach to my own Tai Chi students: 1. The knee is always in the same plane as the toe (no twisting inward or outward). 2. In the 70/30 stance, the knee never goes past the toe (the beginning of the toe). So, I'll now be sharing this video clip with some of my students as good "food for thought" in regards to form practice... because doing it wrong will surely come back to haunt ya over time!... And, I continue to be always open to any suggestions from high level practitioners on any additional "rules of the road" that pertain to enhanced safety on the path to higher levels of skill... ????

I'm so glad you were able to find the link! Part 1 was mainly theory. I will post up a short highlights video here on YT later today. A longer cut is up for my Patreon members on my Patreon: www.patreon.com/AipingTaiChi. This Saturday 1PM - 3PM EST is my monthly community workshop which is free for my Patreon members at the Stressbender and Master Stressbender levels. The topic the community voted on is to decode Damian's June 9 workshop where I'll be going over the workshop lessons at a more basic level at a slower place. Feel free to join us for that!
