Hey Shad, I have always been interested in aviation and in my search today for small plane videos I stumbled across your plane crash video. I have been so intrigued by your story and the progress I ended up watching most of your videos today. I have been a pastor for 23 years and I am always inspired by people who press through and overcome challenging circumstances. I am blown away by your tenacity, hard work and most importantly your attitude. God definitely has great plans for you and your family. Your speech to the uplift group went great and I loved your vulnerability and relatability. Those are some of the most essential characteristics for someone who does a lot of public speaking. Great Job! Keep telling your story and giving God glory! I can’t wait to hear the rest of the story. God bless. Brad Swartout

Thank you for your honesty Shad. Anytime I get into the “why me” or “poor me” or simply “life just sucks” moods, I make myself think about how much worse it could be. Simply watching videos of some families I follow on RU-vid and hearing the nightmares they are now living from tragedies makes me realize just how fortunate I am. Once I start seeing the trials and tribulations of others, it amazes me how it changes my mindset to feeling like I need to help others. Maybe it’s the mother in me but it really does change my mindset and it’s my way of kicking the negative thoughts out of my head. I love listening to you talk. Your honesty is so welcoming and your gentle demeanor brings comfort. You will rock public speaking and will help so many in the process.

When I had a bad depression I was told to remember one thing always, that thoughts isn’t reality. That has helped me a lot.

What does that mean? That thoughts isn’t reality?
@sniper1967

@@pablo9364 thought and speculation isn’t real, especially not when you are depressed. Your head is full of worries. I’m not sure if it gives meaning to you, but I can’t explain it better since English isn’t my main language…. Having a broken leg is real, but worry about if it might happen isn’t real. You follow?

I’m so glad people are becoming more aware now. It’s crazy stuff to deal with. Mental checkups and seminars should be included with the yearly physicals we all have. 🙏🏻🙂

Great video, man and glad to see you talk so honestly about a difficult subject. And ah you hit the nail on the head with the rest thing. My mental health usually suffers when I've worn myself out be it going to the gym too much or just don't giving myself room to breathe. As you said, I think its down to not being able to ward off unwanted thoughts or having the energy too when I am too tired. Thanks for this, mate.

I happily married, we are empty nesters now however, I’m not happy and joyful unless I’m doing and giving to others in need. That is my medication, it makes me feel full. It took time and soul searching to figure it out. The problem most of us have in life is, we’re so busy being worried and ungrateful about the things we don’t have in life instead of just focusing on and being grateful about what we do have. We’re all guilty of this.
