Hey people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me today while I share this new around the house happenings where I am particularly productive! and I catch up with you a bit about things that have been going on around here!! I got a TON of laundry done but yet barely enough because I finished it in my next video (that's already posted). I got some cleaning done around the house, made a super easy and quick crock pot meal, I cleaned out my fridge and so much more! Thanks so much for cleaning with me and cooking with me! My mom passed away in 2015 and then my dad in 2017. I can tell you first hand I'd love nothing more than to be in their kitchen while she's making dinner. You're right, those seem to be insignificant moments of day to day 'boring' parts of life are the things we remember most. ❤

I get the vibe that your children’s lives are far different than yours was & I think it’s so beautiful that you and alex have made your family so incredibly tight knit and their childhoods so magical whenever maybe yours wasn’t the same way. (& maybe i’m totally reading too much into things and way wrong in which case ignore me!!)

Alex had an extremely trying childhood so as parents now ourselves we overcompensate maybe and go above and beyond for our kids lol o think as most parents to we all just try to do better for our kids then what was done for us. My parents did better than theirs and I’m continuing the tradition lol I hope!! Although I know there are definitely things that we could be better at lol

Child of a dentist here. Many parents don’t do braces for their kids because they think it is vanity. They don’t understand the repercussions. Do it now! Do it for your kids! You will never regret it. ❤

Kim, I feel there’s nothing you talk about I can’t relate to!!! Keep in mind, I’m 72 years old. I had a big problem with my teeth at a young, it all started when I was in a bicycle accident, at 30, and little, by little my teeth started shifting, making my bite uneven, yes eventually I need to wear a partial, you can just imagine the rest of the story…love you my friend, keep up the great job 🥰 best mom ever.

Girl, what you need is two washer/dryer combos. You put your wash in the washer and don’t take it out until it goes through the dry cycle in the same unit. That way you can do two loads at a time and not have to transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer. They are fantastic. I had one back in 1969 and loved it. I haven’t needed one for a few years though because it’s just me now. I know they cost more, however, it’s an investment in your life. Every time I watch you doing laundry I say I’m going to send you this message, but I always forget but here it is now.

Im not usually one to comment but i just wanted to share, i have just had a whole lot of dental work done that should have been when i was a child including braces (spent easily 15k out of pocket) absolutely no regrets in getting it done in my 30s as my lower teeth were smashing into the roof of my mouth I just want to thank you for sharing what you do, even if it is chatting while folding washing it makes me feel motivated while also drowning in washing

Please please please just get regular braces for your kids! Imagine having to remind all of them to put their Invisalign in and not throw it away and to not forget it when they leave for school and make sure they have it in for bed, make sure you get it from the water park, did you leave it at the beach house? Everything you ask a million times a day now add it in to something that costs $6000… cement those babies to their teeth and call it a day!

You really deserve so much credit for changing a generational dynamic of neglect or whatever other issues you dealt with as a child. Parents are never perfect, but so few people actually learn from their parents’ mistakes and do better for their own kids. 👏🏻

My mom lost one of her front teeth last year at 80 due to the same thing, bone loss due to a lifetime of overbite. She has a false tooth that looks fine but it was quite emotional for her losing one of her front teeth. She actually had braces as a younger adult, like late 30’s. But it caught up with her at 80. But at least she kept her teeth until then! Best to get it fixed if you are able. ❤

My daughter is your age and was suppose to get braces when she was younger but back then we couldn't afford them insurance never paid for them then. Now she is an adult and has had problems with her teeth. She is considering braces now. My youngest son also got braces when he was 25! I think insurance should pay more for dental work, especially with kids! I need to get implants because all my teeth are breaking and have had to be pulled..I have more spaces in my mouth then I have teeth! Kuddos 7:41 to you for being such great mom. Kim. I’m in my early 30s and had braces at the age of 12. My cousins did as well at the same time as me. I got permanent retainers and he did not. Well, he forgot to wear them and his teeth went back to their original crooked self 😂 and mine are still perfect to this day. After a few days , you don’t feel or notice them. They become a part of you. So don’t worry about them .

I'm 39 years old and just got clear aligners for myself and my 17 year old son in February. This was only possible because a dentist was opening a new 2nd location in our area and was running specials at the time. That may be something to look around for as you consider othrodontic care for yourself and your kids :) Also, there are other clear aligner options other than Invisalign - which I was unaware of! Invisilign is just the most well known. We have the Clear Correct brand aligners and they have been awesome! Good luck! It's the best feeling to take care of yourself and provide better for your own kids! You are doing amazing!

As a current dental hygienist and previous orthodontic assistant for 5 years, check to make sure Eleanor has her second (12 year) molars in! Obviously listen to what your dentist/orthodontist recommends is needed, but it may be okay for her to wait a couple years and get you and avalina through treatment first! Like others said, usually cheapest way to do it is to pay in full at the start of treatment but most offices offer payment plans as well! I agree orthodontists are expensive but like you said can prevent larger consequences in the future! ❤❤

I had forgotten to clean my Bissell last year....let's just say I took it outside and cleaned it with the water hose....lol....so much better than doing it inside, and it sort of got a pressure wash. I think it got a better cleaning because I wasn't worried about splashing water everywhere.

I'm in the boat with you about the dentist. I hadn't gone in forever due to have no insurance. Finally got to go about a week ago ...I'm at 50% Bone loss top and bottom and the dentist referred me to a specialist saying he couldnt help. In that assessment I realized as a child I never once went to the dentist, therefore never had my teeth cleaned. Now dealing with it as an adult. Thankfully I am hyper sensitive about making sure my kids go and get what they need

I wore braces 2 years at 12 & 13. I wore my retainer for a year and stopped. Fast forward to 47 years old. One tooth has shifted. I don't regret not wearing a retainer. I can confirm that your teeth will move after braces, and a retainer should prevent them from moving.

I don’t know why, but your talk about having to deal with things now that your an adult, and almost picking up the pieces, and stopping the ‘cycle’ so to speak really brought me to tears. I’m in my mid twenties and beginning to unpack a lot of that and it’s so hard. I know it was probably something you just put in here, but it really had an impact on me and almost made me feel seen.

I've had a permanent retainer top and bottom since I was 16 (I am almost 36) and you definitely get used to it. I am so grateful! My permanent retainer had to be replaced once and during the few months it was broken (and I was procrastinating getting it fixed) my teeth started shifting! They are so worth it - highly recommend.

The way we deal with leftovers is a calendar. I have a floor to ceiling 3 ft. x3 ft, pantry. Inside the left door is a Command Caddy with a small calendar and my husband writes down the leftovers we had on the day we had the original meal. So we know that within 7 days or so they need to be eaten or tossed. You could attach a small (Dollar Tree) calendar to the side of your fridge and has one of the kids write on it what you had for dinner that night. Just a thought, it works great for us.

The adult issues that u shouldn’t have to deal with oh my 100% Try to not stress too much about the braces-at least in PA they give you a coupon book like when u buy a car….it allll works out!!! 💪 P.S. my son is a pediatric dentist if u have any questions lol Also~u have no idea how much you truly give to help refill other’s cup!! Hey Kim, when I cook a crockpot meal, I make the carrots in big chunk on top. Then 30 minutes before it’s done I add quartered or small baby potatoes and give it a mix. An idea when Meredith has a pink shirt on get the older girl and dad to give compliments every time she wears a pink shirt. Even get the older girls to say hey we all have to match and put on pink shirts you too. So it’s positive time even playing call it pink time even after school and make it fun. Yet an idea. Pink dance party.

My daughter didn't know either that her bottom teeth were not supposed to hit the roof of her mouth while chewing. She had been doing it her whole life though so it was just normal. She never even mentioned it to us. The orthodontist explained it to us too that younger people have softer bones and ligaments and what not. That will actually make it less painful to get braces at a younger age as well. Well, fast forward 5 years, a Herbst appliance, expander, and 2 sets of braces (retainer for life at night) and her smile is fantastic! So glad we did it. We know her dad needs to do it as well as he is the one she inherited the overbite from. It was just not done the same back in the day. They didn't realize the repercussions of not getting braces as much 30-40 years ago. I think we paid $6k or $8k total for all of it, including the removal of 2 adult teeth she had to do to make room in her mouth. Her overbite was MUCH more severe than yours. The orthodontist will go over what is better for you and each kid. I appreciate the Invisalign but a child will lose those things in the lunchroom, restaurants, friends' houses, camp, etc and cost so so so much more to replace those things. The orthodontist office will usually let you do 2 or 3 years (the duration of the treatment) in monthly payments.

I think that sometimes the best things in life are when you let things fall apart, you know what I mean? When you stop trying to control every little mess. Just breathe! Take life in. Allow the leaves to fall where they may and just step through them! Sure you are an Adult, but allow yourself to play and not worry. Let go of that stress and just allow life to happen. It can bring joy to your soul!

Invisalign is a great option if you have a very responsible child. My daughter chose Invisalign vs braces, and I was skeptical; however, since she always demonstrated responsibility, we allowed it. She did fantastic!!! We NEVER had to remind her to wear her trays, clean them, etc. she did great, and the results were great! I think there are options depending on your child. And yes, paying cash as much as possible helps a great deal.

There are only 3 of us living at home full time now and trust me I have a Folding Mountain all the time. I swear it's taller than Mount Everest 😂😂 I dislike folding clothes immensely. Happy to wash them and hang them on the clothesline, not so fond of folding. Oh well I just tell myself if I fold my laundry the earth will fall of it's axis and I don't want to be responsible for the aftermath.

Hey girl! I got Invisalign the day after my 50th birthday. Been in them a little over a year and my teeth look great. I’ve always needed braces, but in my 40’s my teeth started shifting where I couldn’t even close my teeth together. I know it is a big expense now, but I’d rather deal with it now than pay for dentures later. Most orthodontists offer a payment plan.

I totally feel you on the things that should've been taken care of when you were a child but having to deal with myself as an adult. Ive needed glasses my whole entire life. I told my parents for years that I couldn't see anything unless I had it right in front of my face. Guess who ended up turning 18 and taking myself to the eye doctor and paying cash for my first pair of glasses. I'll never forget that feeling of finally being able to see and being amazed that things are actually so detailed and clear! 😅😑

You made me crack up when you just threw the clothes down. My closet looks just like your laundry room 😭 on a regular basis because I will walk into it and just put folded clothes wherever. I have watched click so many times, pretty good movie. Ive seen almost all of adam sandlers movies. Talk about Robin Williams 😢, I sobbed when it popped up on ABC news. I was watching when the news broke. So many good movies came from him two of my all time favorites and both have watched with my kids is Ms. Doubtfire and Jamanji. Thought I was going to have a mental breakdown last week because we had unexpected car issues that need attention, carpender ants in our dishwasher, upcoming dental bills for our 7 yr old, and so on. Thankfully in a short time I was able to tackle a bunch of the experiences. One thing at a time but when it rains it pours! Hugs!❤❤❤

Hey friend xxx I have been a single mum of 4 kids for many years. I am a teacher who works full time and I had 2 extra jobs to support the family on my own. I am so sad and embarrassed to tell you that one thing I didn’t do for my kids was the dentist. I hate that I couldn’t do this for them, I agree that it was my responsibility but I just couldn’t do it financially. Maybe it was like that for your parents too???

First of all you’re amazing and did an amazing job! It’s not you, it’s our system. It’s broken. Insurance is such a scam! Why isn’t dental included?! Or vision?!?! I’m sure the reason my parents didn’t get me braces is because they dumped so much money into my eye care! We should have a better system to support us when we need medical care! ❤❤❤❤

Thank you for this comment. This whole dental section of the video made me sad and tear up. We cannot afford to give our kids braces and hearing Kim share about it as neglect from her parents made me so so sad. Like am I neglecting my kids? Will they one day look back and be fuming that I couldn't give this to them?😭 I work so hard to give them my best but it hurts when it doesn't seem enough.❤

Adults trashing their parents is so disrespectful. If the children were being abused and neglected… that’s another story. But, not getting braces?! Come on! My daughter just finished her braces. They was no coverage from my insurance, it was $5000 and no discount for cash (I asked). She also has a permanent retainer on her bottom teeth. Good luck with yours!

If it’s any comfort I did have braces as a child and am having still the same problem. Finishing Invisalign and actually today going to the periodontist because of gum recession related to the teeth moving.

I am here for all the tea! Totally Nodding with the teeth falling out gig, or so I thought! I love the computer so much because it did some sleuthing when I typed in a question, & the answer was my bones & ligaments loosen temporarily while being preggo or after. WHAT???? YES, I had this verified as darkness brooded around me until I verified this with my Dentist! You, my pretty, are not to old for braces! I love your honesty & your bite....LIFE is frustrating & wild & I wish I could brush it off BUT I handle a crap ton of stuff that my parents fluffed off! They were great doing what they did, but I was their kid. I meet problems head on & either handle it, or its brushed under the rock that I am sitting on, because I can handle what I handle, my eyes constantly roll into my skull & I keep on keeping on! Girlie girl...I hear ya! I see ya! I feel ya!

What I do with leftovers, once it cools down I put in zip lock bags with the date to freeze, at the end of the week we have eat left over day and empty the freezer, and it gives me a break from cooking

As an ortho assistant I see first hand that parents take care of their child’s needs first & usually put themselves through treatment after the fact… selfless. Mamas need help too!!-no matter when you all start your ortho journey remember better late than never :) ask about HSA, payments in full should allow for discount and also family discount. Think of treatment as an investment, I will be thinking positive for you- wish you were in VA and I’ve have lots of referrals for The Wads😊

Kim, Costco sells organic whole chickens. Roast those as a meal and use those bones for your stock. (Roast ghee slathered chicken in your oven with lemon halves inside at 400 degrees OR 414 lol for about an hour and 45 minutes) Just a better idea when you’re long cooking bones. Add a splash of apple cider vinegar to help.

I’ll be an employee for you! Yeah my dental fun is had a tooth pulled and I had to wait nine months and had an infection and received nerve damage and section is numb/tingly/ sensation and lack of any feeling the past 5 months. And another thing lol Braces are expensive!! My parents did take the time and effort to do that for me. Lucked out my 2 children didn’t need them Thanks for sharing and making us laugh!!

Invisalign is easy, not painful and you just have a nighttime tray to keep things in place. Weight training is great for us with osteoporosis too.

Quick kitchen tip that my grandma taught me if you don't have any butcher's twine to tie up herbs you can always use a twist tie from like bread just wash it before you use it

On the retainer subject I have a permanent one on the bottom and I’ve had it since high school. I’m now 36 and it doesn’t bother me at all! I neglected my teeth and now after 3 kids and the toll pregnancy takes on your teeth I’ve def paid the price $$ the past two years lol now I’m getting cleanings very regularly and really taking better care of them. Def prioritize! My 13 year old now has braces and has to see a surgeon to try and bring down a tooth that’s stuck! So happy to be getting his teeth done earlier rather than later. People don’t realize how dental can really cause issues even to your general health if gotten out of control.. anyways $$ well spent anyways. Your children will be grateful in the future!

My second child just got braces and I used care credit to pay for it. I think insurance did pay for a tiny bit but it's crazy that people have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for something that is so important! It sucks but you're right to take it seriously!

The Motivation is just what I needed today to clean my kitchen too. I made the sausage acorn squash dinner yesterday and it was delicious and I made pumpkins muffins with the frosting you made for the cookies. I have all the ingredients for the turkey but I cannot find the sugar pumpkins but if I can’t, I’ll just make it and we’ll eat it like that thanks for the recipes that were delicious. 🍁🍁🍁
