Wow, well first I'm 57 and have Parkinsons. Just had the DBS surgery Dec 8th. I live in la veta CO. So about 10 miles to cuchara mtn, pandero ski Corp. It's free to skin up or $40 a day on weekends to ride the trailer pulled by a snow cat. Originally from Ky. I never had the opportunity to ski. I raced hare scrambles and mtn bikes. So I just received today a set of the KAR 149s with the universal bindings. Fook them out the road, still snow covered toward the east spanish peak with my dogs. Just wore some regular winter boots. For this they were perfect! I already ordered a heel guides for turns. So I'm just learning. Much better at climbing than desenting. My kids laugh as on a DH mtb it's completely opposite lol. Wow, what a journey! At least you have some great terrain and much better snow than here in the East. Yeah, going down is tricky. The good news is with all the fancy expensive AT gear and splitboards out there, no one wants the old 75mm gear so it's easy to find gear for almost free if you look hard. Hang in there!
