Thank you for this video. I am about 2/3 of the way through my second movie script and after watching this I am realizing that my discontent with my story is stemming from my characters opposing forces related to the theme. Great work you are doing Madeline! Keep it up!

I've been meaning to make myself a cheat sheet for various aspects of my story, too! Just something that, like you said, I can refer back to to make sure everything makes sense, even in the first draft. I'm also pretty bad at themes (and stakes, but that's a different can of worms), so this could help me majorly. Thanks for the video!

Absolutely! Making the cheat sheets has been so helpful! I just finished making a bunch of character ones that I'll hopefully be sharing too ☺️ I just need to decide if I'm going to put copies on my website or something if people want to use them.

This is a pretty neat idea. Thanks for showing it! I'm always amazed by how much detail you planners 😄 can go into while I'm out here just making it all up as I go along. (I do like a good reverse outline/story grid after drafting, however.)

Yeah it's so fascinating how different people work! Like I have a lot of trouble thinking about this kind of stuff while I'm writing, and it really makes me feel stuck. But other people feel a lot more free without all the restrictions before hand and can come up with ideas when they just go for it.

@@madelinejameswrites yes, I love the freedom of seeing what the characters "want to do" within my story framework and then going back in to corral them better once they're done 🤣
