I personally think Walt would be very disappointed with how the current people are running the company. I’ve been a Disney fan since the late 60’s. I’m not giving up hope that things can still change for the better.
I believe the Chinese money has been a problem. That was a bad move to give them power of two parks and making alot of the stuff they sell.@@TheDailyWoo
Isn't most of Disney's problems with their entertainment part...Movie releases haven't done well, and future movies don't look that profitable. Making movies is a risky business as the public's tastes change and also news about new releases sounds like they have changed. And of course the news about whats next in the leadership of the company.
I wish I had taken my daughter to Disney back in the 90’s. It was more affordable back then even though I wasn’t making as much money. Today the magic has existed the park.
I won't. I'm going to seize Disney in a hostile takeover and usher in the Make Disney Great Again era where everything is done by asking "What would Walt do?" again. I won't be CEO, but Owner. I can also confirm that Disney will be made great again because I have a time machine and am posting this comment from the year 2067. We can speak to people in the past.
I have a family of 4 also. We took our Disney vacation back in 2012 and have not been able to go back unfortunately. We did have a great time but various things has made it hard to be able to go back including various things about the parks.
No kidding I went in Feb '24 and 3 days was over $500, not even park hopper. Felt scammed the whole time. Then when we got back home they increased park tickets again. Not for me.
Hi Adam, I’m not sure you thought of this. But, you can sell the Grand Floridian points and buy a direct or resale contract for the other resorts you’re interested in. Resale is great in regards to being much less expensive. You don’t get all the perks of a direct sale. But, you already have other contracts that’ll give you those perks. Just a thought.
I haven't been back into the Disney parks since my annual pass expired because they aren't the same as they were. Plus, with the new type of passes they came out with, it was way too expensive for my blood.
DVC/AP and Platinum Disney Cruiser here....I always just pay cash for the cruises. You're better off renting out your points and using the cash you recieve to pay for the cruises, vs using your points for the cruise. The points they take for cruises is not worth it and kind of a rip.
Alright here’s a break down for what’s going on with the proxy fight trian partners wants to get Disney back to what made Disney great and hold the board and upper management accountable to shareholders. Blackwell wants to rip Disney apart and sell everything. And Iger wants to maintain his control of Disney.
The Train group is nothing more the a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” . I agree that Disney needs to get off the whole “woke” crap, which Train wants. But Peltz has NEVER come out and said he wants billions put into the parks - Never. He’s mainly pissed that there were no dividend payments in 2023, that is how that all started. Don’t fall for it! And yes, Blackwell is just evil!
Adam you're always so real and informative. I still love the parks. It's magical for me and my children to come and ride rides, eat great snacks and no one has better fireworks than Disney.
The shirt is rayon and it will definitely shrink in the dryer. Wash in cold water and line dry. Get a drying rack for your garage or a retractable clothesline.
As a Canadian we have no choice when buying an annual pass. We have to buy the most expensive annual pass and then it costs us an additional 40% for the exchange rate. We pay over $2000. Canadian for the privilege of waiting in line for one hour or more.
Adam the end of the video reminded me of your large marge days and getting a rubber band around the ol chip bag snack from the cupboards. Ahhh that was a fun time on this channel. Memories. Your snacks in this one are much more heart walk/run disney half marathon friendly. Well done sir. Ahhhh well done. (In my Adam the Woo voice) 👊
Age old story- the parks are PACKED and people are paying regardless. There is no end in sight. They would need to double ticket prices to stifle the crowd levels to make the experience enjoyable
In Publix, look for mini sweet peppers. Cut the end off, scoop out the seeds, then stuff with a wedge of laughing cow cheese. I think you would really like it! Nice crunchy low calorie snack with some protein added.
Adam thanks for letting me tag along on your adventures through Disney Springs it was quite nice especially with the weather being good, now I was surprised Adam that you didn’t go on the balloon as much as you like it and as hard as it is to go on it because of the weather and you had great weather also I want to congratulate you on once again having a WDW annual pass anyway it was just a great time hanging out with you, now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure wherever it takes you peace ☮️ out ✌️
They are not treating the parks with the respect that they deserve. They are the cash cow for Disney corporation right now. They should be treating it as the crown jewel as Walt did, BEFORE it was the money maker but he believed that it would be. I don’t see as much imagination in anything as the past either, but, that’s just my opinion
I enjoy watching your channel very entertaining 😊. I can't get aboard Disney to toxic, in my opinion. I can't see myself spending thousands of dollars for a few days of entertainment 😅 especially Disney. To many other companies to enjoy and pick from.
LOL at your tattoo analogy, that was hilarious😆 love that you love aloha shirts right now (proud Hawaiian here). yes, disneyʻs stocks did go up, and their recent actions do seem like efforts to restore the faith and trust they squandered, but thatʻs gonna be an upstream battle with a stunted paddle, but wishing them the best. this vid was really enjoyable, just cruising at the springs and chatting with your gator pal, and taking a bus ride (gotta love disneyʻs transportation systems).
Splash Mountain ripped my heart out. I don't mind that they want a Tiana Ride and area. The fact they ripped out Splash without asking and snuck it in. Terrible business people. And they don't care about fans for that one !
You can sell your 100 Grand Floridian points through a resale company for 15-16k. You could then buy about 150 resale Aulani points for the same amount of money.
Thank you for showing the place that you go to renew passes… And the DVC area! Makes me jealous what Florida has over what we have here in California. The new Starview DVC lounge here , however, is pretty cool.
The cost of any Disney park has skyrocketed over the years, but it's always been relative. When I was a kid we couldn't afford to go either, but you could save up Green Stamps and a book and a quarter would get you in, so my sister and I were champion stamp gluers and we were able to go every couple of years. Money was tight when I was raising my kids as well, but the company I worked for had a "company night" every year and employees were free and it was like $10 for each member of the family, so we were able to go that way. Doubt if that is an option any more. Would be great if there was a way people on a budget could get points to go on a credit card versus air miles or the like. Was interesting to here your info on here, I am still mystified about how the vacation club works though.
Love Disney Springs! The weather looks beautiful! My daughter (27) and I are going to Disneyland for the first time in a couple weeks to celebrate my 50th birthday! Super excited! Also plan to take an Uber to see one of the beaches (haven’t decided which for sure). We’ve Never seen an ocean or a beach before in person so should be awesome. Cant believe I’m gonna be 50….time really moves fast! So we decided to do something fun and new to cushion the blow 😅
There is a thriving DVC resale market, as I'm sure you're aware--even as Disney has worked hard to remove some of the benefits of buying resold points. But since you already have a bunch of "real" points, you've got little to lose selling your points on resale--it's only the buyers who are getting squeezed as I understand it (though that conceivably impacts how much you can get for the points). Good luck--I agree, it doesn't make a ton of sense having points in resorts you live so close to, unless you just want to stay onsite for a staycation or something.
7:06 I always thought here in this country, we drive the right…and walk on the right. I noticed Target has their entrance on the opposite side and many things at Disney does as well. Backwards.
It usually depends on the layout of the store and where the doors are. The entrance will always be on the opposite side of where the registers are, which often puts the entrance on the left.
Just a tip, using DVC points for a cruise is apparently the worst conversion/use of points. I've been told not to use my points for cruises (even the dvc member cruise).
You can sell your points on the secondary market. DVC resale market - my friend just sold some grand Californian points. You can also rent them and “swap” for a Disney cruise. Better value than doing it direct through Disney. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Using DVC points for a cruise I heard is awesome! you would love it! The Photopass also includes all of your race photos if you do Disney world run Disney events. great vlog!
That first Hawaiian shirt was beautiful! If it is rayon it will absolutely shrink in the dryer & also wrinkle like hell. I love wearing rayon but it can be a pain in the butt.
We all choose our own investments. You can choose investments based upon better company ethics, or not. Being too invested in Disney to quit is no different than being too invested in heroin to quit.
Going to the Springs this weekend! Watching this made me even more exciting go! It’s been a few months for me since I went last. I also love just walking around it with a hot Starbucks coffee and I love that Christmas Shop year round! I get my daughter a personalized ornament each year!
As a life long Disney fan now over 65 years young, our DVC ownership is our only attachment to this company. I used to own a handful of shares but had to sell them at a time when I needed that investment to buy my home. Sitting on the fence while this company matures. Asia Parks on my " bucket list". Wish me luck on getting them checked off.
Park attendance isn’t suffering so there are plenty of people continuing to go to Disney. Other parts of the company may have some problems but people obviously have money to spend on their Disney vacations!
Adam, I’ve had Saratoga points since 2008. I’ve stayed there one time. Meanwhile, I’ve stayed at every other DVC resort except Vero and Hilton Head. The 7-month booking window is doable just make sure you’re right on that first day. I’ve booked Grand CA twice and HI and got our preferred room option every time. So don’t sweat the home resort advantage, if you work day 1 on the 7 day window, you’ll usually be successful.
I’m a DVC owner with quite a lot of points and I’m thinking of selling- no parks at least now for us. Very disappointed with the parks and Genie+. Value is gone. Don’t use DVC points for cruising- terrible value, rent them and pay cash for cruises. Sell the points via a broker and buy new points resale. Don’t be buying direct, pointless.
Walt Disney would have never allowed Disney to get this far off track. At one point the high cost of going would be the problem but its the least of their issues now. I sold my Disney stock over 18 months ago when Eiger rolled back in and they cut the dividend. Disney won't be right until the board cleans house. The Proxy fight may take years. Don't expect much! Box Office this year is going to be a bust and Universal will take over #1 in theme parks probably as soon as their new park opens. Now for a stock pic.. Fire up the Delorian and go back to 2018 and buy NVDA. I did it by dumb luck... I bought 4 shares in 2018. It has split into 60 shares. My cost basis is around $40.00 per share. For funzies look what NVDA trades for now. Do the math its pretty good.. :) Dumb luck still works. Adam Disney is still on the edge..may be for years. Disney circles the Flush warning. Legal issues and losses. Streaming is a loser and the Woke parks are slowing. Universal what ever it trades under is probably the better investment.
Hey Adam, I have a fantastic suggestion. Given your penchant for helping others, how about teaming up with Make-A-Wish Foundation? You could auction off a chance to spend a day with you at one of the parks. Not only would it raise significant funds for charity, but it would also be a wonderful experience for someone. Plus, it'd be pretty cool to hang out with you for a day!
to late he won't listen to you now that he is drying his clothes out on @lisapolanski9379 idea of a drying rack..sorry, he's going to do what he wants with Lisa.
I am a long life Disney fan. I am really disappointed in Disney in so many ways. I priced out 2 days for my family of 5 in Disneyland this upcoming fall. Omg! Highway robbery. I am ALL for new management.
Don’t use DVC points for DCL cruises. The exchange rate is terrible. You’d be better off renting out you points though a broker and putting the cash towards the cruise.
Sell the GFV points on the resale market. I just added on Poly and Animal Kingdom Lodge resale. Just got back from a Poly/Grand Floridian split stay, staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge/Boardwalk/Old Key West in May.
I believe if Nelson Peltz doesn’t get on the board the stock will tank. The movies are complete garbage. The parks and hotels are unaffordable. Streaming is losing a billion a quarter.
Why should we care. ATW will keep them in business going day after day after day. You’re a homeowner now Adam. Can’t keep going to these places. RU-vid is helping you pay for all this? Tired of seeing the same stuff. Disney, Epcot, Disney, Epcot. How about staying away from them find some new hobbies!
Watching this vlog I recalled witnessing the launch Space Shuttle Endeavor STS 113 from that very Disney Springs bus station in November 2002. Of course it was called Downtown Disney then.
Replying while watching so take into account….. I owned 2 properties in DVC for some time, maybe $35K-$45K total invested by around 2014 when I divorced and needed to sell. I may be in a rare situation but I MADE money on the sale. That’s a rarity in “time share”. I never disliked having it but still was surprised to make money off of it.
Just remember that DVC home resort priority only applies to the points you own there. Guides spiel that it gives you home resort priority but don’t mention it only applies to the points you own there…
I just booked my very 1st cruise Jan '25! Not Disney but I'd love to do that someday! I don't blame you for getting the AP...makes sense living so close! I'd prolly go all the time if I could! Planning my first trip to Marceline real soon! Only a couple hrs from me!
Your reaction in the park ,for some reason, reminded me of that quote from the great baseball player Satchel Paige, “ don’t look back, something might be gaining on you”.
I have visited DW several times dating back decades. It has transformed from a unique world experience to a money grabbing machine sucking everyone’s pockets empty. There’s no gambling but another Vegas tourist trap. I won’t be visiting either places again. Too bad because DW used to be a wonderful experience. Yes, Walt would be very disappointed!😢
If you’re looking to track a broad spectrum of stocks Adam I suggest looking into investing into ETF’s. Company’s like vanguard make ETF’s that basically follow whatever the market does because track the index of things like the S&P 500 or the DOW. A good one to look into would be the ticker VTI!
I used to have the premier pass also because I’m in California and I do remember it was about 2000 for both. I now have one for Walt Disney World and I have my pass in Disneyland. I will never get rid of my Walt Disney World pass either. But it’s about 3000 now for both monthly payments in California paying full at Disney World thanks again for the video today😊
@thedailywoo I would sell my excess points to one of the DVC broker companies who rent points. Right now they are giving up to $20 per point. You can then use that money for whatever. Using your points for cruises is not the best use of points. We have two direct contracts and one resale.
I thought I'm a Adam the Woo fan! I was at Disney Springs yesterday and I wanted to see what's left of the NBA Experience. From 9:40-9:51 I walked right by you and didn't recognize you. Maybe I'm not as observant as I think!!
Last time I was at WDW was when tickets were $17.00 and you still need to purchase ride tickets. Now I won't be back because I can't afford going again, "greedy Disney".
