****DON'T FORGET TO CHECK MY NEW INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM OUT NOW **** LINK / self-motivated my thoughts on the Ensoniq EPS classic , ASR 10 , EPS 16 plus ( quick lo-fi beat) #classickeyboard #ensoniq #beats #samplers #producer
Same as you, I had all the three. Several times. I've chosen the EPS-16 PLUS, that's my weapon of choice, for so many reasons.. Very good & informative video and the beat is bangin' hard, that's pure EPS 13-bit dust & crunch! Yah bless my brother!! 🦁
Another thing that should be noted is the EPS 16+ use of output sampling rates. Like being able to use 76khz (or something like that) to be able to add better transposition to lofi samples. People overlook that fact and it does make a difference especially during resampling
Congrats man. I just picked up an EPS classic about a month ago and I’m running all my sounds through it before making beats on my MpC Live. That sound is hard to replicate. Nice beat too!
(I’m halfway through) I’m curious about things like which you liked best for (drums, loops, synths etc), & favorite sample rates for different tasks (on which machine). Lucky kids getting those 👍
@@NME_REK In the sample menue. After picking an instrument slot, you press the "right" button two times and the EPS will ask for cut off frequency. You can adjust it with the data slider. Setting it to above half the sample rate should give you aliasing IF the sample source contains high enough frequencies (hi hats, snares etc.). If you don't notice an effect, then lower sample frequency and cut off frequency.
@@christianvictor827Thats not true, you can actually do every sample rate the EPS can but its after your initial sampling. You can even go as high as 312 khz which is pointless but technically possible
That beat is dope, I'm keeping mine to The, EPS classic. I installed a cooling fan inside towards the dissipating heat transistors on grill that comes out the back of the keyboard. No problems now.
Have you any photo/s of the fitted cooling fan. I'd like to see it as there's no space inside. From outside yes ok but not enough for the heating inside.
The EPS doesn’t have Analog filters as you mention, only synth’s sampler that had them was the Mirage and Korg DSS1 Great beat BTW, sounds Hefty Another spec often overlook in the EPS, is that is one of the very few synth/samplers that has Aftertouch keyboard, using it properly, it can ad a level of expression compared to the CS-80 very unique Sampler
@Alexandra Senna And the Emulator I, Emulator II, Emulator III, Emax I, Fairlight I, II, III, Synclavier, Akai S612, Akai S900, Akai S950, Sequential Prophet 2000,2002,3000, SP-12, SP1200, Kurzweil K250. They all have analog filters... Mirage and DSS1 aren't the ONLY samplers to have analog filters.... How did you decide those are the only two?
But who knows the difference really if it's digital or analog filters???I have spun music and had my own studio for decades, danced in clubs, and not once have i hear someone saying they are leaving to go home because of the filters.Plus,I have the ASR10 and not one person knows anything besides results.
so dope bro. I just got an EPS 16+ rackmount. I had 2 ASR -10 but sold them like a dumb dumb.. I'm not gonna let this eps go at all! lol. Great beat & Video. #salutetothefloppydisk. you can't get that sound no where..
I never had an over heating problem with my 16 plus but I know plenty of other folks who did. They never turned it off. They would leave it running around the clock for weeks.
Dj Rock Cee, and also all other and Sonic EPS owners is it normal for the power unit inside to make a hum ? When I open it to clean it I saw that there was a penny lodged in is that a trick to make it not so much ? I love my machines I bought a sonic mage and an EPS nothing sounds like these beautiful aliasing machines !
I been thinking of getting the ASR, but I see more of the EPS going for cheaper, and easier to find the expansion board to dump in daw. Why did you end up selling the ASR? and do you feel the lofi crunch on the og EPS hits nicer on the drums?
Good beats and content.Listen,I have the ASR10 rack, bought the 16 MB and still never installed it.I never needed it,because if you know what you're doing, you will be fine. The Ensoniq machines were that balance of old, new, groundbreaking, and simple enough to use live, and the efx engine is second to NONE,in samplers.Yeah,I said it and I have 4 samplers from different companies, yet still then,i can MAKE something work,if i need to.
What cables or software would I need to send a track to an EPS to chop? Just picked up a MPC 1000 and still learning the ropes. And honestly which sound you dig more? The ASR or EPS? Thanks
