My Thoughts on the new releases from JHD Toys 

I'm a VIP member and will join again next year as the $10 membership is very affordable and is offset by the discount offered to VIP members. I agree that the quality of the fashions can be hit or miss. What I like about JHD is that they offer doll themes that aren't always easy to find. The Dracula doll line sucked me right in. The fashions were well done and detailed, the face paint on the dolls gorgeous and the jewelry/accessories were nice if not quite up to IT standards. I also loved how the foldable magnetic lids for the first Dracula line and some of the Dolls of the world Mizi line converted into backdrops. That was so clever and appreciated. I enjoyed the Mizi dolls of the world line which had great quality fashions that were very detailed and gorgeous dolls. I was able to get many of that line on sale so I appreciate them even more. The Katygirl giftset line seemed overpriced for what you got and the quality of the fabrics and sewing looked cheap. I was thankful that I didn't order that line. I will continue to follow the JHD dolls as I think they still have great potential and ideas. They definitely need to improve on their fabrics and jewelry quality but I'm glad to see that they've reduced their prices slightly for the latest convention dolls and the Princess of Monaco with her puppy. I really enjoy your videos and appreciate your reviews so much!

I'm a VIP member. Before collecting JHD dolls I was a huge Integrity Toys collector. Honestly though having collected IT from the beginning I just got bored(great company though-nothing bad to say). First I thought JHD was too much like IT and maybe copying but the JHD people wrote really nice thing thanking IT for helping them get started and etc so there must be at least a friendship there. Still it took me a while to start with JHD. The vampire line was what got me- loved them. The quality was superb and loved the embroidery. But the fashions really are hit and miss. I really really love the KatieGirl bodies but the fashions make no sense. They don't accentuate those gorgeous curves. I always felt they should be dressed sort of like Dita VonTease almost even burlesque or pinup like. I've really loved past convention dolls- usually that's their best stuff. They did one in a gorgeous gown covered in various size beads, pearls, and sequins- in person just superb. These new con dolls don't hold a candle to that one. And I really just have to say I don't understand their design concepts. Are they trying to do what they think American fashion is or what fashion was in their country at the time of Katiedoll(European could be very different) But the KatieDoll fabrics haven't been great either- I sell most of their outfits and keep the dolls. I did order the Grace set in the hatbox because I love the fashions and the box(crazy to say that- its just a box but I love it). What I don't love in pics is the doll itself. Queen of the Dark Forest fascinated me so I ordered her, loved the pink dress on Glam Monika and ordered that and even their bride(love the embroidery. Having said that , their dolls are getting more and more hit and miss. Have a lot of the Adonis- they're great and did order Aphrodite although she is very reminiscent of Barbie Aphrodite. I think as a company they are at their best when they do fantasy themes or the Adonis dolls. I can't believe we got a Querelle doll based on a gay film and book. Still, I have to say I'm not sure how many more of their "fashion" girls I need. the new convention doll set is pure Chanel but I find it boring and like you said I feel like they've done at least the ruffle dress before. Also felt like you that I'd seen the Grace pink dress before(probably on Poppy) like you said. I just don't get their choices sometimes and the problems always seem to be with design- like I believe you hinted at. Not to sound judgmental but they may need a new designer or maybe a guest designer for some fresh ideas.

Agree!! Plus, the thing I don't like about JHD dolls is their faces are too cartoonish with the exaggerated big eyes.. plus if you love Jessy Ayala's works, then you'll see JHD designs are kinda flat in my humble opinion.

I am a VIP member but this was my first year and dont think I will join next year. I will stick with Integrity...I am a member there to.

Hi, I've bought a few adonis and 3 mizi. Mine have amazing clothes and screenings. But for me they are more miss than hit when it comes to fashions. But I do hope they get better because they have lots of potential in making dolls in the fantasy realm. So im gonna stick with IT and keep my eye out for other doll companies.

Both Princess of Monaco dolls are Dior outfits reproductions, the boxset is a Christian Dior original and the dress was designed by Marc Bohan 10 years later ... I could not resist as I already have the Barbie Silkstone Grace de Monaco dolls as well ... thanks for your videos, always a pleasure to watch them 😀

Hola, Christopher. I had never seen a JHD doll. For me, I don't particularly like dolls that come apart like a jigzaw puzzle. They remind me of marionette puppets. I like some of the Mattel MTM Barbie Looks dolls. I do like some of the Integrity dolls. I try really hard not to spend more than $250 on my dolls and $100 on their clothing. I can say I like these outfits on the JHD doll(s). As you know doll collecting is a very expensive hobby. Thank you for this video. I enjoyed it.

I also liked just the one basic nude doll the same one as you did. I hear you about the fashions are now repetitive ore we’ve seen before from others but the one thing that is new and different is I love love love the Katie girl body It’s curvey and voluptuous and I’m living for it I’m hoping one day we might finally get that full FULL figured doll but until then I’ll take what I can get 😁

You are not wrong with your hesitations re. JHD! The fashions are meh, the dolls bland…except the one you admired, the Kelly Woodsen. I wish they would cost less as the value they offer is not at all competitive with IT.

I like any doll company that gives IT a run for their money in the doll arena. Maybe I’m basic but I really like their RTW outfits. I do not isn’t a Mizi doll but have come close although I’ve heard the doll quality is a bit flimsy. The more competition, the merrier.

They have potential. I do wish the clothing was better quality. I am hanging on and waiting. I don’t hate them at all. The Adonis are fab. The price point is similar to integrity but quality is missing just a bit. I think if the fabrics were improved it would be a great leap. ❤

I really like your videos and commentary but i find the audio hard to hear sometimes. There's a lot of videos i don't end up watching because it. Just wanted to share that with you - hopefully it's helpful. Appreciate all the effort you put into these ❤️

Thanks for the video! If I can’t get dolls, I need doll content. What was with all the drama in the Mizi Fan Club on Facebook? I’ve bought a few quite a few dolls and Adonis too. But there’s always something missing, or is it just me? The bodies are too light and flimsy, and the heads almost never match the body. I think it’s the accessories. I need more.

The fashion for Champs Elysees looks very good. Other than that, I am not very thrilled with this release from JHD.

I've been collecting these for a while. This year's convention was a failure. However, their fantasy line is interesting, strong, and unique. They seem to focus on the late 50s-60s-beginning of the 70s, kind of like Poppy Parker/early Barbie, and I think the person who created JHD is kind of that era and Poppy's fan to a point their fashion model bodies and fashions are compatible with PP line from IT. Last year, they were heavily focused on Gloria's head sculpt for unknown reasons, and many people got tired of it, every realize was predominantly Gloria, occasionally Anna May; this year, we see her again and no Mizi for example, who used to be their main girl, with Anna May, the collector's favourite. It's a bit weird to see. I think the creator limited himself too much on the specific era/type of fashion and can't get out of it, the main reason it doesn't work is it has been done by Mattel and IT to the point they are all using the same references when creating fashions and that's why everyone is like "hah, we saw it before you just copied Mattel/IT, so what?" They need to focus on the fantasy line and their out-of-the-box ideas like they did with Adonis and experiment more.

These dolls don't thrill me. I don't particularly care for their faces or their fashions. I will stick with IT. Interesting video, though.

I’m not too interested in JHD dolls except for a couple of sets I really want from Adonis and Mizi. I wish I was in the club just to be in the group to see if I can buy from another member. How does theirs work, like IT forum?

I bought one doll from “this company” (I can say the letters I just can never remember them 🤭) and I was not impressed and overall disappointed. She was a nude I got on the secondary market. One of the ones from that Devil Wears Prada inspired set… Anyway, wasnt a fan of the body, the hands are an odd material that stains easily, and I ruined her screening and accidentally erased her eye (long story but that one was on me). From the moment I got her in my hands though I felt that instant feeling of having overpaid for something. There was another doll that I did consider getting from them. She was the Isla Mujeres doll…but the resell cost was too much and after the first one…I just cant. I feel like they are in the wrong price range completely. Maybe I’m cheap but after holding one in my hand I would pay $50 max for a nude. $99 for a dressed doll. They do look cartoonish but there is something…sweet? Or at least interesting about the eyes. It has an anime or Misaki vibe that I think some collectors would appreciate. Maybe they need to lean into that more. Idk. It seems they are still trying to figure their life out as a company. Overall, I feel they are overshooting when they should be building up. 🤷🏻‍♀️
