Zootopia 2, I’m fine with. Frozen 3 I’m also okay with and I kind of saw it coming. Toy Story 5 tho…they literally had a good ending to the series. And I think most people were content with the fact that that would be the ending, I don’t even know where they would start it or what the plot would be😐 Idk, I guess we’ll see someday😅

When Toy Story 4 was announced I was so confused because... the story was over! But then they found a way to continue the story and I thought 4 was the capital E End. What can they possibly add to the story? The main duo splitted!

I was so mad that they made a 4th one because the 3rd one had a great ending, was literally about moving on from your childhood, and then they were like “oh yeah, we can still make money off of this.” And then the 4th one also seemed like an ending spot, so while I was annoyed, they at least put it in a spot where they wouldn’t do it again. And now they’re doing it again!

i really hope that toy story 5 is a prequel based on woody's time with andy senior (thats his actual confirmed name) yeah because apparently the entire story of andy's dad and where he is WAS infact completely thought up by the now deceased joe ranft and supposedly only told to mike mozart who went on to tell the carlin brothers. it is...... more heart wrenching than the beginning of up. perfect pixar material and i would LOVE to see it on screen, way more than however they might retcon the ending of 4.

me personally i think that toy story 5 will be about the Return of Andy and how he notices that toys are sentient and tries to track down all his old toys after moving into a house with his WIFE and his SON. who knows he might even pass down woody from him to his kid just like how andys father did for andy.

The talk about watching your favourite thing get shit on hurting is so relatable. For me its the MCU, I grew up with Marvel, Spider-Man is my favourite character of all time, I have enjoyed almost every single MCU film so incredibly much. I loved Phase 4, I though it did an amazing job, but people keep shitting on it everywhere I go. It's just emotionally exhausting, its even taken away from my enjoyment of it. I dont usually watch movies, a lot of them bore me, but MCU is just fun it doesnt take itself too seriously and when it does it feels earned, its just dumb fun with cool flashy colours and heart warming morals and story arcs. Yet it is this constant "the MCU is dead" "omg they're killing the MCU" it just annoys me, turned me off from a lot of the internet.

Toy Story 4 & 5 don't change the fact that 1, 2 & 3 are one of the greatest trilogy's in cinema. Perfection.

I loved the Toy Story movies when I was a kid (and I think Toy Story 2 is one of the best sequels to any movie, don't @ me) and I actually cried when I saw the third movie. (I mean, I was 7/8 years old in 2010 and I also have a disability as well) That would have been the perfect ending to the franchise but someone at Pixar or Disney said, "It's not enough! We need more dough! Let's milk this franchise to it's death, shall we?" It's really sad to see the end of such a ground breaking franchise become "That franchise", the one that gets worse with each movie being pumped out and it seems there's nothing that stopping the studio until it dies from being milked too hard. It's a sad world we live in...

Why not Encanto 2?? It's to me the only movie I genuinely would love to see a sequel to, especially since it has so much potential for it

I think the only thing I can think of that would draw me in to watch it, is if Andy is in it somehow, or the child has a link to Andy (child, niece/nephew, ect) in order to tie it all in together and for a nostalgic boost. Or if anything, it should be a story of them really genuinely being on their own and no owner. The reality is that is what happens to a lot of toys and maybe they need to explore that narrative. They always have toys that are abandoned, but what if their whole story is them living the life of an abandoned toy. If they really need another owner that can be Toy Story 6.

I think seamus basically hits the nail on the head. I have no interest in seeing a 5th Toy Story personally. At this point it’s just a cash grab and not a passion project like it originally was. No matter what they do narrative wise, 5 movies in the same universe definitely is dragging on. The pirates of the Caribbean franchise is a great example of this

With sagas, I think it has to be planned from the beginning. Examples of successful sagas include Harry Potter or Twilight, both based off books. For them, the plan was always to create a saga of movies because there was already an established story written that could be turned into over five movies. With sagas like Star Wars, there wasn't a book to base it off but after the success of the first movie, it was clear that a saga would be a smart route to take. The key thing that made these sagas successful is the fact that the extended storyline was planned out early on. They weren't making it up as they went along- obviously for those not based off books or other material, they wouldn't have been completely certain on how it would go but they would have at least had an outline. For Disney sequels, it is painfully obvious that they tend to make it up as they go along. I highly doubt Disney planned on making Toy Story a saga, they likely just saw the success of each movie and saw a way to make more money. When it is clear that sequels weren't planned out, they feel less like a well put together saga that aims to expand upon an established world and more of a sloppy lazy attempt to make more money. I always think three is a good place to stop at sequels unless there was intention to make it into a saga from the beginning. Therefore, Toy Story should have stopped at 3 and I am not looking forward to number 5. EDIT: just adding more thoughts on Zootopia & Frozen sequels Frozen should stop at 3 for reasons I discussed above. I saw another comment suggesting they should make a Frozen TV show and I completely agree. Something similar to the Tangled show would be perfect. I am actually really excited for Zootopia. Its one of my favorite Disney movies for how interesting the world is. I'm really intrigued by how all animals live in the same world harmoniously. From the sequel, I hope we get to see more of the world behind Judy's police job and friendship with Nick. It would be interesting to explore a different aspect of Zootopia, perhaps focusing on new characters.

Like, I get wanting to make a sequel. People wanna know what happened after the events of the 1st. 3 movies: often a bit excessive but CAN work. Now 4 and 5: WHY? Like, I get if ppl rlly like 4, I get it in THIS case- it kinda summed everything up from what I remember. BUT 5? EVERYONE WAS HAPPY WITH 4! Zootopia I think deserves a sequel- it was a nice film that I genuinely enjoyed and think they could do alot with the story from the way they ended it last time. I thought frozen could've ended with 1. But no, they made a sequel since it did so well. Honestly, I don't think we need ANOTHER one. Honestly, when 4 came out, it was still possible to defend it with clever arguments but if that was already a rough time, I somewhat doubt 5 can be something that will do well, considering how little the interval is between this one and 4.

I personally like sequels; I enjoy seeing how writers want to develop the overarching story and characters. That’s why I’m particularly excited for Frozen 3. Just a comment, with 5 movies it would be called a pentalogy. The names are based on greek and just count on. This is normally used for books, but is more and more used in movies as well. There's just not many that have 5 or more, so the names aren't that well known. A saga is a specific kind of fantasy story, having heroic elements and playing in a distant past. Zootopia 2 is actually the one I'm most on board for. But ultimately if they are good with solid plots and can give a good reason for existing, I'm fine with any.

I wonder whether or not Pixar will actually try to make Toy Story 5 have yet another franchise conclusion. What Pixar could possibly do is just make Toy Story like Star Wars, a franchise that will always be expanding for the foreseeable future, and release a Toy Story film every 5 to 10 years while continuing to make original movies not in the Toy Story franchise. This is the direction they seem to be leaning towards, and if they do decide to do this they should just run with it.

I loved Toy Story 4. Personally, I think Toy Story 1, 2, 3, & 4 are the perfect quadrilogy. Despite what you might think of 4, I am of the belief that 4 was needed to properly conclude Woody's story. And it does that perfectly. I couldn't care less about Frozen anymore, I still have yet to see Frozen 2 in it's entirety and I just have no motivation to watch it. Zootopia, I am intrigued by... Will need more information to make a proper judgement.

Lightyear failed because they spit on a beloved character and franchise and not only failed to deliver what they'd promised the movie was going to be, but actively undermined and insulted their own fan base in the process. If it was supposed to be the show the toy was based on, they needed to keep the voice. If this was meant to be a real in-universe person that the show was inspired by (which is what we were initially told was going to be the case) then I could see having a different voice actor, but it still would have required some serious justification they did not have. Lightyear was already Toy Story 5, so why should we have any faith that the next attempt will be any better? Both it and Toy Story 4 utterly ruined the character of Buzz Lightyear. I wouldn't be surprised if Toy Story 5 dropped him completely. Rather than Zootopia 2, they should have the Zootopia team do a remake of Robin Hood as a sort of Zootopia prequel, complete with J.K. Simmons as the voice of King Richard.

With Zootopia 2, I think the thing that could make this a really good movie is if they don't make Judy and Wilde the main characters. I think whatever storyline they go with would be so much more unique if Judy and Wilde were side characters that helped the main role accomplish whatever their challenge in the movie would be. Otherwise I can imagine that Zootopia 2 would wind up being the same and the first, save the fact Judy and Wilde are partners from the start. I really liked the first movie, and I love the characters, but I think adding new characters in as the main focus would be better. Plus, the movie is called Zootopia, not Judy and Wilde, so the story should be about another animal finding their Zootopia.

I agree I feel they are kicking a dead horse now as the first three were good and the third came to a nice closing then the forth was a stretch and came out to an ok but quite nice ending but a 5th without woody being able to talk is just extensive

Huge fan of the series so Toy Story 5 is my most anticipated movie by default but man, if Woody isn't in it, that's gonna be a huuuuge bummer. The thought of not hearing Tom Hanks' voice in a Toy Story movie is honestly kinda devastating. It'd be one thing if I loved his send-off in 4 but I'm not sure I do... Woody and the rest of the gang parting ways just hasn't sat well with me and that feeling has only grown over time. Still looking forward to more, sure, but at this point, it's abundantly clear that the first 3 are unmatched and anything from 4 onwards, I just gotta keep realistic expectations for.

I would love to see sequels for Elemental (maybe about Wade and Ember encountering negativity from society about their mixed relationship?), Encanto, and Luca (when our boy is coming back from the school and they are reconnected, with probable relationship?)! I will still watch these sequels probably.

I love the little outtakes where Seamus is just looking at something off script and we see his natural reaction, like looking up if theres a word for 5 movies and then cackling at the “Toy Story Saga” bit. So authentically Seamus, and absolutely HILARIOUS.

As a massive frozen fan, I’m VERY excited for frozen 3. I think the last movie ended in a way that, while it doesn’t necessarily REQUIRE a sequel, I still think there’s room for them to definitely take it in a good direction. I feel the same way about zootopia. With Toy Story though, I felt like a fourth one was already too much. Five seems like insane overkill.

I wish Seamus talked about it more but I think an Incredibles 3 would have been a much better choice. The 2nd was really below average and I feel a 3rd would be able to redeem the franchise like Cars 3 did.

I would've preferred Incredibles 3, because the second film ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, just like the first one. I actually saw the first one for the first time only four days before seeing the second, so it wasn't a long wait for me!
