This is my favourite genre of all time. I’ve played so many ones over the years. Nowadays , I’m mostly restricted to the ones on the phones. Although there have been the occational game on the PC. For instance ”Legend of Grimrock” 1 & 2.

Some great RPGs on the Amiga. The SNES is where it's at for RPGs though.

Eye of the Beholder 1 & 2 and Black Crypt was my favourite games on Amiga.

As far as RPGs, Eye of the Holder was my favourite also on the Amiga; however, my first jaw dropping experience into this mode of gameplay was Dungeon Master on the Atari ST, which released years prior.

AMBERMOON hthe intro really impressed me. Elvira 2 the story is super good (I don't understand why they dont make a movie)

Great video, thanks. I've recently dusted off my old amiga and I would love to get into some RPG's on it. Which games would you recommend to a complete beginner? I don't mind putting in a lot of time and effort to learn the game(s). I remember back in the early 90's the RPG's being quite difficult / punishing on the Amiga and I never gave them a real chance. Perihelion The Prophecy looks and sounds amazing.

Thanks for your comment. I personally really like the game of Eye of the Beholder 2. Although there are many very good RPGs on the Amiga, but for me this game is a good start. I missed Dungeon Master series (1&2&ChSB), Realms of Arcania, Liberation and Shadowlands

Yes, of course. They are all great games. Dungeon Master 2 was on my original TOP 10 list (but I finally changed it for BlackCrypt) and Shadowlands I played it and really liked it. It has been very difficult to make this list. It's very subjective. Any of the games that you comment has an entry here. Next Monday, there will be another RPG video that I finished today, just before reading your comment...

People now will laugh at this, but when these games were released many people still had 8-bit machines. And these games had the most immersive, cutting edge visuals and sound you could get. It was cinematic experience that Amiga basically started and was still doing it well for years.

...and many times they created a world of magic on a floppy disk or a few 880kb floppy disks... that totally captivated and immersed you in the game...
