Thanks for watching my top 10 indoor cycling video. Interested in the t-shirt? You can buy it here: cottonbureau.com/p/76ZF8R/shirt/stuck-indoors-riding-trainers#/19382911/tee-men-standard-tee-vintage-black-tri-blend-s Correction: ROUVY no longer offer the ability to run on their platform.
If MyWhoosh is struggling to keep a user base right now, it’s because there are so many bugs in their app. I tried it for a week but, went back to another app for reliability. My training is too important to me to mess around with an app that works well part of the time. I have no doubt it will be great once they’ve worked out the kinks.
I always appreciate your cycling app overview videos, so I get an update on what’s new. However, I would separate the training focused apps (TrainerRoad, SYSTM and Xert) from the other apps. To compare TrainerRoad and Zwift doesn’t make much sense - two different worlds. In fact depending on how my season is going, I switch between training plans from SYSTM, TrainerRoad and Xert. Similar to you I always run in parallel Zwift or Fulgaz (in case I want to check out a route I am planning for my holidays). Thanks 🙏 and Happy New Year 🎉
Appreciate your feedback and I agree on the feature comparison between training focused apps vs virtual worlds type apps. I thought about making it a two part series. Something to consider for next year. Thanks for watching and happy New Year to you too!
@@SmartBikeTrainers - i would have to agree with OG comment, i only use Garmin connect and considering to "upgrade", but it can get confusing what features are available in the world of apps
Awesome review, Tariq. Thank you. The new workout AI generation feature in Xert is a pretty cool feautre in the space, something no other system does. We're adding more capabilities around it as well. It's a key part of an optimized training plan.
Great video, very informative. I use and like Wahoo SYSTM, the scenes and first-person peloton race videos are great, but they really need to up their AI/ adaptive features during a training plan. Currently there is no such feature. It’d be a shame if the only app with real scenery & first-person peloton views does not keep up with innovation and becomes obsolete
Thanks for the comparison(?)/review to these apps. I am just getting back into cycling - or more correctly just "into" as it has been so many years! I am a 75 year old retiree that spent too much time on airplanes and behind laptop screens without much exercise for way too long. I tend to use the trainer differently than most as it is most used in Summer as I live in Florida and it is HOT and HUMID as well as the cycling on roads is really a little sketchy with much traffic and very narrow bike lanes. I currently use Swift as it came with the trainer but will most likely change as the subscription expires. My personal issue on most I have seen is I am not interested in racing or social activities. I am only interested in finding training programs the will help me with weight loss, health and endurance. I only use cycling to get out in nature and with to do some bike packing once my leg strength and aerobics are better. Your overview was insightful and educational and will look forward to seeing more as things progress. Thanks again!
Thanks for best information ever in cycling applications but still Zwift is the most reliable and efficient application I try MyWhoosh I think still needs some work to improve. Thanks coach I appreciate your efforts ❤
Another great video, Tariq!!! 👏👏👏 There was a lot of great information here. I have been a Zwifter for several years. But more and more I find myself thinking that I would enjoy platforms that allow me to virtially ride real roads around the world more. Certainly, hopping on a plane to travel to all these incredible riding locations is often not convenient and very unaffordable! Also, as Zwift has grown it has ironically become less "friendly", in my experience. Just yesterday, I rode the Surrey Hills route in London. I gave every rider that I passed, or passed me, a ride on. But I did not get a single Ride On in return. 🤦 That would never have happened when I first joined the platform. 🤷♂️
I find ride on’s to be hit or miss in Zwift. I generally give a lot more ride ons if I have the Zwift Play setup or the companion app open. If not, there isn’t an easy way to give ride ons so I’m guilty for not giving ride ons back sometimes 😬
@@SmartBikeTrainers Understood. 👍 I have an Apple TV so always have the Companion App open and ready to share the love ♥️with Rides Ons. BTW, a lot of those Rides Ons I gave yesterday were to folks also using the Companion App (they had a cell phone icon next to their name). Not that I am losing any sleep over this. Just sharing an observation that I find interesting which also motivates me to consider experimenting with other platforms. Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you Tariq as always for your videos. I have missed that you mention which programs are compatible with ANT+ or not. For the rest, as always, very clear and concise. Thank you! :)
Happy you found the video helpful. As far as ANT+ compatibility, all apps mentioned that runs on a PC or MacOS are compatible with ANT+. You just need to have the ANT+ key connected to your PC to connect. Hope that helps!
👏👏 .. you are right regarding mywoosh, I tried to download on my not so old laptop and i couldnt do it.. didnt meet requirement, it crashed on my Nokia tablet.. finally i was able to run it on my mobile,
my problem with the app is when doing training plan, it kicks you out from the app. You lose all the progress and have to start it over. It's very frustrating if your training is 1.5h to 2h and it kicks you out just 15min before the end. Otherwise it's a good looking app.
As someone who is new to cycling, I find it frustrating to figure out which apps will actually cater to my ignorance. I just watched your video after battling through Wahoo systm and trying to get everything synced up - I was incredibly frustrated at the opaqueness of how to get everything up and running smoothly. Calling it beginner friendly wasn’t my experience. 😅
Hi, thx for the video. How do you export a sesión training from trainerroad to swift? I have both apps, but I consider the TR plan are more effective and zwift more interactive and enjoy.
TrainerRoad doesn’t support exporting their indoor workouts outside of their platform. When I use both platforms to workout, I generally have trainer road on my iPad and controlling the trainer and Zwift on my PC and paired to my trainer as power only.
Thanks for the vid.. very informative. however, I am very surprised that you have made no mention of Garmin Tacx. This must be one of the best virtual riding apps available.
Hi Tariq. Great video. I was curious how you are able to run TrainerRoad and Zwift concurrently. There are several forums that exist but I would like your take. My smart trainer is the Zwift Hub classic. It has BLE and Ant+. could I run a synced TR program on my 530 edge connected via ANT+ and then connect Zwift to my iPad via BLE but making sure the Hub is controlled by Garmin and not Zwift? you have loads of experience so any input would be appreciated. Cheers and thanks.
Basically you need to connect your HUB to TR as controllable and only as power to Zwift. Since the HUB has one Bluetooth channel, then you have to use ANT+ connection along with Bluetooth. What you proposed with the HUB connected to the Edge 530 via ANT+ and Zwift on the iPad should work. Just make sure to connect the HUB as power and cadence only to Zwift.
How about Garmin indoor cycling and tacx? I heard that all the contents of tacx will be transferred to garmin app. Will it be helpful for garmin to be more competitive compared to other apps?
You are absolutely right. I somehow missed that little detail and got too distracted with their new interface. Appreciate you bringing this up. Thank you!
