I always enjoy your videos. I love hearing your opinions on books and different types of paper, and it's great to know which pens and markers you have used on them. I'm so sorry about your husband's diagnosis and that you're facing cancer again. My mom has been dealing with the aftermath and all of the frustrating symptoms. I hope your hubby is doing better.

Another excellent video! My Christmas present to myself this year were all of the Forest Girl and Momo Girl coloring books so those 5 are definitely in my top ten. I also have the new Hannah Lynn and I can’t wait to work in it. I love ALL of my Rita Berman, Hannah Karlzon and Maria Trolle books! I have every book by them.

Lovely books, and I really appreciate the guide to which pencils you found work best on the different papers. I couldn’t easily pull up my top-10. I don’t buy a lot of books, so I tend to love them all. But I’d agree that World within Worlds is superb. I have had World of Flowers for a year but not yet coloured in it. How remiss. You reminded me. I love to look at it. I have just bought Ticket to Dreams and Imaginary Friends by Karolyna Kubicowska , both of which I love. So basically, I can’t choose!

I just recently found your channel and LOVE ❤️ IT! I wonder, could you do a video like this ... what pencils work with what books based on paper in groups like artist/publisher/source? I love love love! the Grazia Salvo book. The images, the paper, the books construction. It's my #1 fave along with Alena Lazareva "Fashion" which is also greyscale and flexibound.

I too use Strathmore Toned paper with Karron’s illustrations - stunningly gorgeous artwork 🙏 My faves are Hanna Karzohn, Kerby Rosanes, J F Harkins and Kubikowska. Art which will grace any wall 👍

Loved to see your favs! Just an FYI on alcohol markers, especially Copics....they bleed through EVERY paper. If you use them, you ruin the backside picture. I recommend using them in single-sided page books only. Keep up the great content!

I have a book called On the day we finally meet. It's so sweet and beautiful that I keep it in a fire safe!! There's whimsical images of pregnant animals and the animals "husbands" comforting mamas. Lol. It's so cute!!

I have found that Prismacolors in Kerby Rosans books look like the pages were actually painted! A touch here and there with an alcohol blender pen and it really looks amazing. I only use Prismas in his books now!

Nice review,and thanks for all the links. Love and best wishes to you and your husband for 2021. I only have 7 books worth mentioning,but I can't rank them so I will just list them. Johanna Basford's Secret Garden,and Kerby Rosanes' Mythomorphia,both very popular and detailed. Terry Pratchett's Discworld colouring book by the artist Paul Kidby,full of characters from Pratchett's novels,with black and white line drawings of the accompanying original artworks in colour. Two books by Jessica Palmer,Tangle Wood and Tangle Magic,similar to Johanna Basford's books with hidden charms and jewels. My Imaginary Journey by relaxArt with illustrations inside by Christian Schlierkamp. And lastly, Posh Coloring Book Thomas Kinkade Painter of Light,containing black and white line drawings and the colour originals. The artwork is inspiring and a definite challenge to learn the techniques needed to reproduce anything similar. I can give you the ISBN numbers for any,or all if you are interested. Happy new year.

First just wanted to say I’m sorry about your husband prays and hugs to all I do cards with stamps and am trying to learn copics, colored pencils , watercolors omg think my problem is I have to pick one. I’m not an artist just a crafter, but have done decorative painting. I have never owned a coloring book but funny you put this video up, because I’ve been thinking of getting one, just don’t want to spend a lot of money if I don’t like it I will be going to Michaels to see what they have for a beginner Your videos are very helpful and I appreciate it so much thank you

I absolutely love Johanna Basford books, and The Lost Ocean is probably my favourite one, with World of Flowers a close second. Maria Trolle is up there too, I only have Nightfall though. I have a few Hanna Karlzon, and, I love Rita Berman books too. Does anyone buy books but find it hard to start colouring in them? I'm terrible for that, maybe not enough time, 💖

Thank you! So much information. I only have the 72 Prisma pencils. I have been scanning pages from different books onto Neenah smooth card stock because I heard that somewhere. The books I have purchased to date are probably not the highest quality papers. What do you think?

The 72 set of Prismacolor are plenty. If you’ve seen some of my most recent videos, you know that you can blend those colors together to create other colors. I used a 36 set of Prismacolor for three years before getting a bigger set. Scanning the pages into the Neenah paper is a fabulous idea.

I have not used my Castle Art pencils much in Johanna's books. I have always printed out PDF pages and find that the Castle Art pencils work wonderfully on my favorite paper. This is the paper I always use. amzn.to/3ufisIu

Yes, both sides of the Strathmore paper are the same. I don't have the Emanuele Colin books so I am not sure. From what I've heard, they have very high-quality paper.

I know time has passed since this video came out, but I still pray your husband is responding well. Miracles happen. I don't think I can limit limit my favorite coloring books to 10, but perhaps artists? I began coloring mandalas years ago, so Angie Grace has to be in there, though I have transitioned to other books now. Fairies, mermaids, and anything beautiful by Color Haven, then Jesus help me had I known about color channels on youtube when Serene came out. I discovered Serene and RU-vid channels this year!!! O_O Late to the party. Aeoppol's "Moments Wholly For Yourself" and "Forest Girl", the two Momo Girl books, Molly Harrison' Whimsical World Big Book and one of the fairy books (her other fairy/mermaid books are on the waiting list), Innocence and Colouring Beauties by Rachel Mintz, The Flower Year by Leila Duly, Circle of Life, Into the Wild by Daisy Fletcher, Fragile World by Kerby Rosanes, and that's just a sampling. I love pictures of innocence and wonder, flowers, all sorts of things except dark and what to me is disturbing. oh, and I love Autumn, so there are books in the collection featuring autumn. Yours is one of my *favorite* channels :-D

When i color i need to cut the page out of it’s book. Is there a secret to coloring a page secured in it’s book?

There is no secret to coloring inside the book. I always color most of my pages in the book unless it's something I can only get with the Amazon paper. I used to always color in the Amazon books though as well without an issue. Thanks for watching the video.

I think your video would benefit from a shorter introduction. It takes close to 3 minutes to get into it. The discussion on different colour pencils on the paper is useful and showing some examples as well. Great.

Why would you use Pablos on a coloring book? People: High quality artist colored pencils are not for this, it is a waste of money, those pencils are for museum grade artwork, if you have money to waste go ahead bur if you do not then go for budget friendly colores pencils.

There is nothing wrong with using Pablos, Luminance, or Polychromos in a coloring book. We are colorists and enjoy budget friendly colored pencil sets as well as the more expensive artist-grade sets. There is nothing wrong with a colorist treating themselves with a more expensive set. This is a hobby and something we do everyday. I use my Pablos in my coloring books and really enjoy them. I use my Crayolas too! If you’ve watched my channel for some time you will see that I’m always showing budget friendly options and even have several coloring tutorials using Arteza and Crayola. I’ve even used the square Brutfuners and others.

Debrah Muller is not, in my opinion, a good artist at all compared to other beautiful ladies' books.

This is why we have so many books available to us. We all have our own ideas of what we like. Someone else’s top ten is going to be very different from mine. Let us know what your favorites are.

Personally, I'd much rather know your favorite coloring book. Of the year, or ever. I love hearing about new artists.

@@JoJo-jk4jm I buy her books for my grandkids. They like to color ! Thank god! I used to really dislike Hannah karlzon style, now she is one of my favorite. Everyone likes different styles of books.
