My Top 10 G.I. Joe & Cobra Figures (New Years Special) 

Original destro was the first g.i. Joe line action figure I received. My mother bought it for me because she thought the silver head was "pretty." Anyway, I always have thought that version of destro was the best looking one, and I wonder why that they have never seemed to recreate the chrome head styling in any of the newer figure versions of him out there. Snow job was the second she bought me, because of the same reasoning "oooh, his white uniform looks so clean!" Whatever, he was a pretty fun toy as well. I had seen the original joes from 82 in the store, but at 7 years old I was sail into Star Wars. A year later some older (big bad 4th graders) mocked us at recess for playing with our Star Wars guys while they were playing with the new joes. I got some and was hooked. When my dad got into the act of picking em up once in awhile, he made sure he got the military style ones first, as well as any vehicles or playsets which were realistic, he was a veteran artillery man from Vietnam era. Many years later, my love of joes had me in the 82nd airborne with adventures of my own. Nice video. Keep up the great work. I think the one point you touch on without outright blurring it out is the nostalgic factor that toys have, and th memories from that simpler time which is now replaced with the hustle and worries of adulthood and family. I re purchased most of the first 4 years of joe toys in the early 2000's. And I enjoy when my daughters play with them (of course I join in.). They are starting to grow out of em, but I hope they have some fond memories of playing with the toys alongside their dad when they were younger

My favorite figure ever was Alley Viper in black and yellow with an MP5k, hands down one of the coolest looking figures in the GIJOE universe.

These are my top ten of Cobra and Joe by year. They all varied in which was my favorite at what time, so in NO particular order: COBRA Cobra Troopers Zartan Crimson Guard Commanders B.A.T.s Vipers Cobra Commander v3 Croc Master Crystal Ball Raptor Destro v2 Joe's Dusty Flint Sgt. Slaughter v2 Falcon Mercer v1 Budo Hardball Muskrat Shockwave Storm Shadow v2 Some are a bit odd, and there were better figures for their years, but these are the ones I owned personally!

Favorite Joe is Lightfoot, I always imagined he was me. On the Cobra side, it's that '84 Zartan, since he was the very first figure I got from the line. Also have a soft spot for Super Trooper, because I love gooold.

New subscriber... enjoyed the video and gained some knowledge from a few of your other ones. Thanks. Being from the UK, it was called Action Force. I had the old 5 point figures, mainly Space Force back in ‘83 (I was 8). But when the ‘AF’ labelled Joes came along, it blew my mind. Loved all the bios, it really was my replacement for Star Wars and held it in the same regard. I’ve just got back in to collecting this line over Christmas and I’m a few figures in. So looking forward to having them delivered this week. While watching your video, I got thinking who was my first figure of the ‘G2’ Action Force........ Flash funnily was my first figure, made me chuckle to see he was number one 😂. I guess it was the laser gun! Not sure why I felt I had to share all that but hey it’s 2018 and this year is all new to me.. Happy New Year. All the best.

Oh, man, Brian ... what a fabulous video! It is difficult to choose 10 from each side since the collection is very large and even worse is to put a rank order! Congratulations on your list. I have to say that I could perfectly choose the SAME LIST of Cobra. Maybe not in the same order of preference, but we have similar tastes in this regard. I would have to add Firefly, Iron Grenadier, Cobra Ells and Cobra Commander v.1 somewhere on the list. (Very difficult to make a list!). When it comes to choosing the Joes ... there, my friend, we do not agree ... lol ... I'm sure I'll stay with Outback, Flash and Airbone. Although if I had to put together a list, I think I would only have Outback among them. Those that could add without knowing the order) would be: Alpine, Spirit, Recondo, Rock n 'Roll v.1, Shockway, Storm Shadow v.2, Jinx, Stalker and Hit & Run. After those 10, they could come: Flash, Airbone, Blowtorch, Flint, Barbecue, Low-Light, Scarlett and Zap. (No, Snake Eyes does not call me much attention in any version). Hard to do a top ten. Every time I think I have it nailed down, the list changes. Outback is definitely in the top five along with Snake Eyes V2, Storm Shadow V1, the original BATs, and the '85 Eels. Alley Viper V1 and the original Destro are somewhere on the list. I'd put the original Gung Ho in there too. Tunnel Rat V1 takes a top spot. Lately I've really been digging Recondo also. Like I said, these will all probably change tomorrow. Hard to pick your favorite when you love them all (even the goofy ones). Happy New Year, Kevin!

Great list! The first Joes I ever got (licenced to the UK as 'Action Force') were Destro, Baroness, Torpedo and Blowtorch. Zartan came a year or so later. Destro and the Baroness would still make my top 10, as would Zartan (who until the internet came long I had *completely* forgotten could change colour!). I never got Storm Shadow or Firefly at the time, but I wanted them a ton as a kid, and now they would deffo make my top 10 villains: Cobra: 1) Storm Shadow 2) Firefly 3) Zartan 4) Destro 5) Baroness 6) BAT 7) Eels 8) Tomax / Xamot 9) Astro Viper 10) Buzzer Joe: 1) Quick Kick 2) Snake Eyes 3) Shipwreck 4) Beach Head 5) Flint 6) Frostbite 7) Sci-Fi 8) Alpine 9) Barbecue 10) Lady Jaye

Nice list! (And lookin' good!) Though a bit predictable by watching your reviews. 😉 In terms of figures alone (not influenced by fictitious characterization) I'd put Dial-Tone as number one Joe and top Cobra would be Firefly. (Come on, how is Firefly NOT on anyone's list?) And I can't explain Dial-tone; there's just something so cool about him to me. By the way, I also happen to be a bit partial to the arctic figures. It's nice GI Joe has so many of them.

I always felt my top 5 bad guys were slice and dice, tomax and xamot, and firefly. as for heroes flint, scarlet I love those red heads lol. law and order as one, doc who I don't think gets the love he deserves and dusty cause as a kid I went by dusty instead of dustin as it gave me cool points cause there were a couple of dustys on tv at that time if you count dusty Rhodes lol.

firefly, ally viper, shockwave, and tomax and xamot (as a pair) would replace some of your picks on my list. Road pig prolly schemes his way on my list to. i know most dun like him but uber Liberace fan Serpentor makes the back end of list too. While they clearly had the superior tech...joes vs the kenner star war toys in lil kids battlefields? break out the body bags for the lame non articulated non geared up kenners....this aint goin to be pretty.
