I've always leaned towards eye appeal at arms length from the front, so I value centering pretty highly. Great thing though that we have different preferences and we can all achieve the "best" in our own eyes (or better at least).

That Raichu is the stuff of Legends. Raich is my favorite Pokemon and I remember thinking it was so cool that Raichu held the title of having one of the most legendary oddity cards in the hobby. Its like the bigfoot of Pokemon cards, and you OWN IT. Haha.

I played Pokémon when it came out up until the last Neo set and had so many of the top collector cards. I had multiple of the shining Pokémon, shadowless, etc, but when Yugioh came out I sold/traded off everything. Obviously the cards weren’t nearly expensive back then but I wish I would’ve kept everything. I just started playing Yugioh again about 2 years ago and am now really trying to collect Pokémon again and am trying to get the Gen 1 and Gen 2 cards but gosh it’s so hard haha. Seeing your cards in this video is amazing and I am totally jealous. Here I am trying to figure out how to get even an ungraded 1st Ed Charizard and at the end you show a bunch of high graded ones lol. Man, even having 1 of those would be like the biggest dream ever come true…. Also, that Raichu is amazing, wow.

Rusty, I'm glad you have that Prerelease Raichu. I remember very well the first pictures were made public around 2007. That card was talked about for years before (was it DMTM/Mike Boozer) showed it. However another card was the "grail" during those first years. It was the Grand Party. Later on that "grail" wasn't so much a grail anymore, but that has to do with knowledge and sharing it. You mention there are no movies about Prerelease Raichu or some other cards. Yes that's because making a movie wasn't a general thing. Early 2000 we got digital pictures taken over the traditional pictures. While DVD's existed the tools (camera/storage) were not in reach to the general public. Most communication was done through message boards. Taking pictures (and storing them) on your cell phone was a luxury. News/Knowledge traveled slower and you needed to spend a lot of time to find the spare sources in regard to collecting/playing Pokemon TCG. Thanx for sharing your collection, always nice to see what others collected.

Is it just me, but I much prefer cards that the value is driven more from absolute rarity than conditional rarity. A lot of 10s would be regraded to a PSA 9, we are truly buying the label more than the card.

I had a 9.5 CGC 1st Ed lapras and CGC creased it when they swapped it into the CGC 10 slab

I could swear I seen a pre release raichu when I was in grade 7 at school and it was shadowless unlimited. Flash memory, it came to me when I seen a video talking about it some years back now.
