I was looking over my pistols the other day and decided to grab 10 that I feel confident with. In regards to performance, these are the top 10 pistols of my current collection. Let me know what you think I should add and what your favorite performance pistol is. Big thanks to Armslist for sponsoring this video!
Hey Brandon: I got another gun for you to get that's stupid cheap and well worth the money. A 20" Diamondback DB10 in 6.5creed... You can go to their website, and they have several of them for like $2k. But crazy enough, they offer the uppers for like $450 to $500 each, for the different style DB10 uppers (including 6.5 and 308), fully assembled, including the bolt-- and you can get a stripped lower from them too for like $100. and then just get their parts kit to go with it for $50, and it just uses a regular AR15 buffer tube (they offer the buffer and spring separate too) -- or you could even buy a better trigger somewhere else, like a Geissele, etc. Grab your favorite stock and grip, And you can build their DB10's for like $700 to $800, if you just buy the parts like this- straight from their site; and it's the same rifles that they offer for $1800 to $2200, if you buy them already complete. The stripped receiver will have to go through an FFL of coarse. Other than that, it's super easy to throw together, because the UPPER comes already assembled. IDK why they are so much cheaper as parts; I think there is a heavy tax added when it's a complete rifle or something, plus the cost to assemble it, and QC, etc. But they are stupid accurate. Hell, you could probably get them to send you one for free anyway. But if not, they are so cheap to build and super worth it. I have one in 308 and it's awesome. Nunfancy did a vidoe on the 20" 6.5creed years ago, and it was crazy accurate for him too. It's based on the KAC SR25 receiver with an angle cut at the back, (rather than the dpms lr308, which is curved like an AR15). It would be a great addition to your long range collection; specifically the 20" 6.5creed... Since I just discovered this; I'm probably going to build another one; it's too cheap not to.
Well, I’m not spending 5k on a pistol.. but a Beretta 92X-P and Springfield 1911 are my top two pistols overall. One of Sig’s platforms would most likely take my 3rd spot, so I’d say: u have some damn good taste sir
@@jamesfuqua9833 I don't like reloading as well, but unfortunately I compete in a mag limited state sometimes, and just to make things simple I carry 10 round mags so that nobody asks any questions.
I love Canik because like you said there’s normally a learning curve with handguns but I was hitting 60 yard shots with it after putting only 10 rds down range.
I sure I'm the minority here, but I didn't like the shadow 2. Honest outlaw talked about them so much thst I saved and got one and was massively underwhelmed. I can shoot my pdp way faster and more accurately. The shadow is so friggin heavy it was only really good for single accurate shots
My top ones are a customized CZ P07 (milled for an optic), FN 509T, Walther Q4 (also my like PDP and PDP Pro) and my Sig MK25 - 4 pistols I’ll never sell
My 1st privately owned weapon is a 509T. Never fired a Glock (only an issued M9 - Beretta), but have heard the trigger of the 509 is about like a Glock, gritty). Swapped out the trigger and striker with APEX, and it feels a lot smother and less weight on the pull. Love it so far.
I've shot both and the shadow 2 absolutely kills a 2011, even the stacattos. This from a guy who's favorite gun to shoot is a nice 1911. It's the feel of the gun that does it. The 2011 feels like crap in my hands
@@TietLung lmfao 🤣💀😂 I run a shadow2 in carry optics and for action steel i use my XC... the s2 is only better than the 3.9 c2... the P alrdy out performs it.
@@oceaser6977 I've got the 507kx2 on my 509ct (FDE). I'm wondering about upgrading optics. The new ECC is still backordered everywhere, but was thinking about the Holosun 509g?
I have the SIG 365xl, P220, M17, Springfield sa35, CZ shadow 2 and multiple 1911's. All shoot very well and are very reliable but the shadow 2 is by far the most accurate. Will be getting a Staccato next week.
@@brandonaeiou funny how absolutely no one that shoots timed gun running is using a staccato or prodigy. What I have seen are czs & tanfoglios. I like the SAR pistol line myself, but for economic reasons; SARS are not equal to cz/tanfoglio, but they are 1/3 of the price & are actually carryable lol. No offense, from the bottom of my heart no offense, but you've never even shot a good 1911 if you're impressed by a staccato.
@@LIONTAMER3D I currently own a Dan Wesson Discretion, Sig Tac PAC 1911 and a SA TRP. They are solid as well but perform similarly to 2011 as 2011s are built the same as a 1911 but are double stack as to single stack and are generally in 9mm. Shadows are great guns. Mine is solid but I prefer the TSO over it as well.
@@brandonaeiou I've had the pleasure of running the C2, P, and XC from Staccato, a Titan from Atlas, the 5" Prodigy, and currently own a DW Specialist 4.25" 45 Auto and 5" 9mm, a DW Bruin 10mm 2nd gen, 1987 Colt Delta Elite, M9A4, and my Shadow 2 to name a few (excluding all polymer and revolvers). The Titan and XC were oh so nice, Prodigy was decent, and the Shadow 2 is simply different. No better, no worse, just different. I like 2011-pattern far less than 1911, though I'll give credit where it's due and admit the 2011-pattern is a far more capable platform. Single-stack 1911 won me years ago and hasn't been dethroned by a 2011 yet. Shadow 2 still slightly edges out my Specialist 5" 9mm for me personally, but I still reach for my M9A4/Obsidian45 combo more often than any other.
He missed multiple CZ models on this list. It's subjective but at the same time reality has to be considered. In no circumstance should the Shadow 2, and the P series be left off this list. He has a PSA Dagger but no CZ? Lol ok
Staccato arguably recoiled less but for the money right now I’d buy 4-6 guns for that money that I would still enjoy. Just wish the price was not so high. These high dollar 1911s/2011s take a lot of maintenance to run reliably
Check out the newly released *FN 545 Tactical,* with a shorter barrel, less chunky, less heavy, it can actually be carried concealed. I got me one. It is *extraordinary!*
@@kaox44 the FNX 45 is huge, bulky, heavy, with a 5.2" barrel. The striker-fired FN 545 is the opposite, with a 4.7" barrel, and also two mags: 15 and 18 rounds. The 545 made the FNX 45 unnecessary, because you can actually carry the 545, unlike the heavy mama X45.
A CZ shadow 2 would have been in your top 3. That thing shoots like a dream and looks sexy while doing it. Definitely need to add it to your collection 💯
8:35 Shoutout to Saddle Rock Armory! Great little shop with inexpensive FFL transfers and a great staff that helps you out with transfers and suppressor paperwork.
I love my Beretta's but did you have any thoughts on the cz Shadow as far as a race gun? I constantly feel torn between my shadow 2 and 92x performance (even frequently my ltt m9a4) for favorite shooting gun and was surprised not to see a cz
Glad to see a PSA on your list and your not to boujee to admit it ! They are great guns and I feel like the gun community is so stuck up now and if you don’t have a 1k pistol or a 2k rifle then your a newbie
From Houston, Texas 🫡 My top favorite handguns are: *the Walther PDP and PDP Pro SD, the Sig Sauer P320 M17 and P365 XMacro TACOPS, the FN 545 Tactical (for sure, an upgraded FNX 45) and the 509 Tactical with an Apex trigger, the Canik METE SFT and SFT PRO, and the CZ P10F and F Comp.*
I recently bought the P320 X Five Legion and The Prodigy 4.25. The X Five shoots faster, and I feel more accurate straight out of the box. No red dot. My Prodigy is good, but I have had a total of 5 failures to feed. 3 from my 17rd Mag and 2 from the 20 rd mag. After the 2nd failure to feed on my 20 rd mag I was determined to run more runs with out the feed issue. I was able to run 20 rds back to back 3 times without a failure to feed. I did reach out to Springfield and they are sending me a new 17rd mag and I went ahead and ordered a new 20 rd mag. Overall I enjoy shooting both guns but my X5 Legion is the favorite so far!
@v.german11b I ended up sending the Prodigy back to Springfield and they fixed the gun. After about 6 weeks I got it back and I tested it out yesterday and it was very smooth.
Great choices. I love my 226 Legion SAO RXP, Langdon Centurion RDO and M18. I need to add a nice 1911 and I have the older FNP45 model that needs upgraded sights and a threaded barrel. If you haven't already I recommend a Sig AXG Scorpion. It was everything I loved about the P320 series with a better red dot cut and an aluminum grip similar in feel to the P226 and P229
Nice list! I'm surprised that the Rival isn't in your top 5. I'm also surprised that the Prodigy is in your top 5 from the many negative reviews I heard. The XC is 🔥.
Granted all Commander size 1911’s single and double stack are more balanced in the hand for me. Now when I was younger and competed the 5" guns were my go to but the only double stack guns we had back in the day were Para and a double stack 1911 has the weight to just run fast to me. A Para is a damn fine pistol too. Still have a butt load of them. I can see both the 4.25" and the 5" Prodigy in my gun buying future and a Staccato too. Just don’t why Staccato I want. I am also a Sig guy but the 320’s just don’t seem to run for me like a 229 or a 226 does. My preference in caliber for those fine pistol is .357 sig. but if I had to choose dependability it’s going to be a Glock or a Smith M&P 9. The new Gen 5 Glocks are my favorite with the exception of the 17L and in the Smiths it’s going to be any of the 2.0 series. My everyday bigger sized carry right now is the 4" compact 2.0 with and APEX trigger and a Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS. All my MOS pistols wear pretty much all Holosun with a speckling of other high dollar red dots. I’m 62 and I won’t lie, and probably like a lot of open sight older compaction shooters I was pretty late on the whole red dots on pistol thing but I find myself getting more and more comfortable with them and for shooting at 50 yards and further, I thing they are the only way to go but for up-close and bet my life on carry guns, I’m sticking with open sights for now. Eventually I’ll get there with red dots on my carry guns. Old dogs can learn new tricks, just takes us longer. Enjoy your videos!
Nice collection of pistols. It's good to see you also have a wide range of WML's and didn't let the elitists' olight hate sway you from showing them on your setups.
I just bought a staccato c2 yesterday and shot it today and wow! Recoil was amazingly soft and even the sound when racking the slide is beautiful. I've shot several polymer guns like glocks and CZs etc but I've always been a 1911 guy. I knew of 2011s years ago but the price was just too much for a hobbyist/ carry/ home protection guy. My favorite gun was my kimber ultra carry ii raptor because it looks beautiful. I now after 1 outing of shooting my staccato c2 with iron sights and nothing mounted on the rails yet can say the staccato has taken that number 1 spot. If you can find one and have the money or are saving money for a new gun..... get a staccato you won't regret it! I already can't wait to get back to the range. Like he said about his it feels like a Swiss watch, I agree 100%. I was never a fan of polymer and love metal guns so I was concerned about the polymer grip and trigger. After feeling it and how beautiful it shoots I have no more concern. The trigger has a lil more take up mush before you hit the wall and then small travel on the break compared to my 1911s kimber ultra raptor but shooting it, I actually liked the way it felt after I warmed up. Don't have a staccato yet...... buy one or be left in the dust
I rented the first prodigy a few weeks and it was a nightmare with malfunctions. The kimber kds9 rail was even worse. Only got three successful shots off with the kimber and almost a whole mag with the prodigy.
Went to a store that sells both Staccato pistols and the SA Prodigy. Can't keep Staccato in stock, there was a SA Prodigy in the display. They've had about a 50% success rate for people having good SA units to date. IMO, that's far too high of an issue rate for me to spend money on (even with the lower cost). As such, I'm getting ready to order up my first Staccato 2011 (the P model). Might get the C2 later in the year, or around this time next year.
I just bought a C2 yesterday and it was the last one they had in stock other than the display model. All out of the P model other than they had 1 P model with threaded barrel but again display model. Today I shot it and wow! It is like a Ferrari of guns to compare production guns to production cars. Shooting at 15 yards iron sights and nothing hanging on the rails to help weigh it for flatter shooting, every shot was in the 9 or better. And I'm a fairly newer shooter. The last 3 months I've been going out about once a week where 7 years ago when I got my first pistol to a few months ago I only would go out maybe 5 times a year. So by no means would I say I'm a great shooter. Staccato's would make any shooter a better shot! If you ever want to carry your Staccato I would recommend the C2 over the P. I spent several months debating which one I wanted. Being I would like to carry it occasionally, target/fun shoot, home defense it fit all the roles better. The P I hear is just a hair more accurate but the size is just a bit too big for my needs. I was looking at the Springfield Armory Prodigy but after all the issues everyone was saying all over made it clear to me they don't have the bugs worked out yet. I would rather spend the extra money $500 to get the Staccato like I did. I know you'll love the Staccato no matter which you choose you can't go wrong. Today being my first time shooting mine I'm sold and now a loyal Staccato fan/owner. Sorry for the novel but I absolutely love this gun.
First time I’ve seen one of your videos I really like your style. I have a lot of the same guns the only thing I would like to see you and your list is a CZ shadow two. I think I rank it number three maybe even number to watch you shoot the single action only CZ shadow two you will be amazed
Canik is the best polymer handgun. It's very accurate, good recoil and great trigger. Staccato is the best production 2011, to get better you have to go custom.
Shot my rival at the range yesterday but Canik isn’t the best polymer handgun - at all. The quality is lacking and you can see that by how quickly it wears, their best feature isn’t even their one, it’s a Walther trigger. It’s packaged nicely and you get good value but calling it the best is crazy. Most my guns are defensive but I’d take my Q5 poly over my Rival anyway, even with the better/lighter trigger. I’ll take my PDP over the Rival also
Lol. Mkay. I can tell you probably only own a handful of guns and haven't ventured past Taurus and Canik. It's cool though because we've ALL been there. In 3 years you'll realize
@@dilldowschwagginz2674 well you actually can’t. I owned about a dozen. First was a Glock 19 which I sold but I have: HK P30L, VP9T FN 509T, 509c and FNX 45T Walther Q4 SF, PDP, PPS M2, Q5 Match (Poly) Sig MK25, P320 and P365x Macro CZ P07, M&P 2.0 and a Rival. Never owned, shot or even handled a Taurus. Most of my guns are quality and the Rival is the only budget option I’ve bought . See what happens when you assume 🙄
