I just can’t get enough of these top 10 style videos. Nice one! There is only a few decks apart from the RWS that I feel drawn to personally, but it’s nice to see you delve into other decks.
Great list! 🤩 I purchased the Pagan Otherworlds based on your unboxing/flip through! Thank you for inspiring me and countless others! I find immense comfort in all of my decks as well as following your channel. Thanks brother Simon~
So fascinating about The Deviant Moon and childhood dreams - there is something so familiar about the art in this deck. I was so put off by the art at first but I love it now. I too actually find it really comforting even though the images can be a little confronting or creepy at first. So interesting to hear you top 10 Simon! 😊
When you said you were adding a deck that you have only had for a couple of weeks, I was hoping you'd say the Shimmering Veil! I was blown away when I viewed your walkthrough. This deck has jumped to the top of my wishlist. It just goes to show that it is possible to have a small, yet diverse and satisfying collection of decks, if that is what one chooses to do. I love that! I am about to do a little cull in order to make way for a few new decks (a few of which you featured today). This has given me that little nudge to get going! Thank you for sharing Simon. 🌼🌈🧡
I got a strong pull from my heart and I just started tingling everywhere as you walked me through this deck. You hit the nail on the head this card images were channelled for sure. The energy from that deck is so strong for me. I have the light seers tarot and it's a joy to read with. The eyes in the images are so alive for me and that King of Wands is intense....in a good way! 😉 Thank you for sharing your beautiful decks with us.
I went out on a limb and purchased the new deviant moon to give it a go because I wasn’t connecting to the decks I’ve been buying on a level that I’ve been dreaming of. I’m so glad I did. It’s wonderful! I’m buying a lot off of his site.
You really made me want the Enchanted Everyday Tarot... I had seen it before but never really took a full tour of it and I like it much more without the boders too. I just don't know if I could do the kind of great job that you did at modifying the cards and I'd hate to ruin the deck trying. lol I also have now added Druidcraft Tarot to my wish list. I already knew I wanted Lightseer's Tarot, that deck really makes me think I'd read it really well. You know what is kind of funny though? The decks I've somehow found to read profoundly well for me are often decks I first reject because their looks don't appeal to me. ;)
Being A Tarot Reader myself I really love your “ Everyday Enchantment Tarot Deck” which I don’t have but I wish to have it from wherever I could get that. thank you.
@@the_hermits_cave I live in Pakistan actually and One can’t find any Tarot Decks here in this country but I have to buy it from international online portals & websites who can send it to my Country. And I’m looking forward to have this specific deck in my collection. Thank you for introducing this beautiful yet contemporary Deck.
When you said the last one is the Shimmering Veil I was like "YES"! I was almost sure it would be the This might hurt. But, when I saw your Shimmering Veil review, it was love at first sight, and now I am waiting for it to arrive. I am beyond excited!
5 decks in your top 10 are in my top 20. I am not sure I could narrow it down to 10...mmm, maybe. Lol! At some point last year or the beginning of this year you had mentioned Deviant Moon in such a way that it struck me to try it again. I’ve had the limited rose edition for awhile but never used it. I thought the big book might help me connect so I purchased that and the borderless. It has been by my bedside ever since. It just clicked. The 6th deck that is a possible top 20 for me is weeks away from arriving from the UK which is The Shimmering Veil. I ordered it when it was shared in the FB group before it was sent to you so hopefully soon. I have high hopes for it that is for sure. :) Thank you Simon - it was nifty to hear the why’s and the joy in your voice. I’m always interested in why something connects with someone regardless of whether it is my thing or not. ❣️🙏🏼
I’d likely buy the Deviant Moon playing cards before the Tarot deck. I had hoped the tarot version would have been as creatively clever as the playing card deck.
That was Great and a little surprising.....I have all these beautiful decks except one...I’ve never heard of the Shimmering Veil...So now I have to go see if you have a walkthrough and take a closer look! I enjoyed this very much....Thanks for sharing I know that had to be hard....🥰🌙
I absolutely love this video of your top 10 decks of all time! I am newish to Tarot but have a similar aesthetic as you. I think you mentioned the Glastonbury Tor in relation to the Druid Craft Tarot? I just picked The Magician card from the Fairy Tarot this morning. He is just climbing down from the Glastonbury Tor where he has accessed additional wisdom and protection. I only have 3 decks but the Druid Craft is the one deck I’m really hoping to get. I feel the attachment to ancient earth. I was in England long ago and visited several stone circles, some on farmer’s property. The Merry Maidens was a small one that I remember. One of the other decks you reviewed, another pagan deck, I believe, is another deck I would like. The art is drawing me in totally. Thank you so much for your review, Simon! I can tell how much you love your Tarot decks!
Thank you so much, I visited a stone circle two weeks ago and filmed it on my channel. it’s called a day in my life, if you are interested in watching it. Thank you for watching!
SIMONNNNNNNNNNN, would you ever so kindly make this video again or perhaps do a revisit about your top 10/15 decks? I would so, so, so love to see you do that! Thank youuuu!
I loved seeing your all time favourite tarot decks 😊 2 of your choices would definitely be in my all time favourites, maybe I should do a VR 🤔 When you showed the Light Seers I was just waiting for you to say “look at that Devil” 😉😆❤️
I so very enjoyed to see the decks you have selected for your Top 10 Decks of All Time, Simon! Some of them I expected where others were a great surprise for me, but I loved every minute of this video! 💕 I so look forward to the release of the second edition of the Spacious Tarot I have now pre-ordered! I’ve started thinking about my Top 10 Tarots of All Time, too, and most likely will be making a VR... ...by the way Deviant Moon is growing on me... ☺️
The Hermit’s Cave I’m not there just yet...with the Deviant Moon... but I have a feeling it’ll be joining my collection sometime soon. 😝 But for that I’m not blaming YOU, I’m rather grateful to you, Simon, for introducing me to Patrick Valenza’s decks! Trionfi della Luna is now my most favourite non-historic marseille deck (if we are not counting my trumps only decks! ☺️ ) From where I’m right now on the list, it’s not going to be a very surprising VR, as number-wise my Marseille Decks will dominate...and I only have one (ah, well possibly two) common with your favourites! 💕
Top ten all time for me are 10. Mystic mondays 9. The Druid Craft 8. Spacious tarot 7. The Green Witch Tarot 6. The Fountain Tarot 5. Murder of Crows 4. The Dark Mansion 3. This Might Hurt Tarot 2. True Black Tarot 1. The Light Seer's Tarot
You spoke of it recently in such glowing terms, that I would have been disappointed if The Shimmering Veil had not made it on your list - but, you didn't disappoint. And while a number of these would not be my choices, what made it so wonderful to watch are that you are passionate about these choices, and why they are, and in that way we get to know more about you. I am anxious to give this challenge a try as our tastes and favorites evolve and change over time. I think I will have some trouble with it, not because I can't whittle down to ten, but because I am so finicky, it will be hard, I think, to come up with ten that measure up as "my top 10 of all time!"
Oooh *all time!* That's serious!! Of the ones you've chosen, I have Spacious, Deviant Moon, Light Seer's (indie), Pagan Otherworlds, plus of course several RWS decks though not the Blushing Fool. A few of our top ten would be the same for sure. That is high praise for Shimmering Veil to put it on the list after having it such a short time. I don't have it but Cilla Conway's Devas of Creation is a deck that has been on my wishlist a long time... her art is beautiful!
It really is! You know how sometimes you can just receive a deck and know instantly that you could never part with it and it’s an important tool to work with? I feel like I’ve had it for ever and I’ve not been able to put it down.
Loved your video and loved listening to you talk about them all you can hear how special each one is. I have all but a couple you showed and i love them each, unique in their own way. Thank you for sharing🥰
I have two of those "blue box" tarot's. One I bought in the 80's - the other is a 1971 blushing fool that I found in a thrift shop a few years back. ( I did'nt realize it was a b f untill I got it home. It's in great condition but the sides are very dark from use. Obe thing I notice compairing both decks is that the older blushing fool deck has much blacker blacks in it. The Sword cards for example, really deep blacks.
@@the_hermits_cave Yesss I'm obsessed with pathworking. For me it's a form of meditation, it's so calming and I receive and experience so many unexpected messages that way 💖 I'm getting that deck the instant it's back in stock.
Amazing choices, Simon!! I kind of guessed the top deck in the list and the Deviant Moon to be in this list. Most of the others, I was like "OK that makes sense", but there were a few I didn't expect, which is GREAT. I loved being surprised. I love seeing the Shimmering Veil Tarot on your top 10 list, proving that sometimes time with a deck is not AS important as that instant connection. Waiting for you to do a full walkthrough (? I don't think I've seen it on your channel).
I love the everyday enchantment and the simmering veil tarot decks. I like the Marseille deck too! I’ve never heard them before, but they are on my list now! They’re absolutely beautiful. I would love to see your top/fave oracle decks. 💜☀️🌈🌸🌙🧚🧿🌟
I got Deviant Moon early on and love it, too. It does contain lots of symbolism and intention from RWS AND the images really stick in your mind, which helped me to learn card meanings. I'm awaiting Shimmering Veil based on your walkthrough and think it will become a new favorite. I was surprised to find Japaridze among the missing!
That's a great choice of deck's. I also love the Deviant Moon and the Deck of the Bastard's with its sun and moon card. And now you gave me the final kick to get the Light Seers Deck. It's on my list for some time but wasn't really sure about it.
this is impossible for me and I have a fraction of your decks, so much admiration for your clear minded decisions Simon x Having said that, it's no wonder I type #Simonmademe so often! Of your top 10 - I own & adore 6 (one is enroute) I love DotB & the Blushing Fool ($$ prevent me buying every deck I want) & every time I look at the Shimmering Veil I love it more. That leaves only one I am not a big fan of. I would expect at least 3 of them to be in my top 10 .. possibly up to 5. Wonderful video Simon, as always your passion for the tarot in general & your favourites in particular shines through xx
I love many of these decks. That Shimmering Veil is amazing. I will have to check into that one. Another one I do not have yet and was on the borderline with for so long is the Deviant Moon, which I just need to get. The Light Seers is has been among my top decks, if not my top deck thus far. Thank you for sharing I loved this!
I’m also drawn to the art in the Deviant Moon deck which is the very first one I purchased years ago. You might really enjoy Mirror Mask (movie) by Neil Gaiman because if my memory serves me correctly, the aesthetic was similar. ♥️
Thank you for this thoughtful showcasing of your absolute favorites ❤🙏 Thoroughly enjoyed it! I hope to enlarge my collection with some of these soon 🥰 PS: Love how you trimmed the Everyday Enchantment and how you edged the Pagan Otherworlds. Just a suggestion - if you list the names of these decks in the description box, you'd make this more accessible to newbies. You articulate the names well enough, I suppose, but I remember discovering your channel when I didn't know that there were other decks out there, and it has been helping me discover new ones ever since! Thank you ❤🙏
@The Hermit's Cave, I saved this video to my "Watch Later" folder, for there are several things I need to do today. So much for a lazy Sunday (smile). Nonetheless, I look forward to seeing how many of your Top 10 Tarot Decks (OF ALL TIME!) we have in common. I wish you and yours Peaceful and Prosperous Blessings.
@@the_hermits_cave Indeed. Also, still in the process of finishing up several things, before I leave for the Beacon and Cold Spring, New York areas to give Readings at Notions-N-Potions this weekend. I just saw the new intro to your videos. Very cool. You honor me greatly, and I AM most thankful.
Loved this! I did pretty well guessing most of them...and have moved a few up on my wish list thanks to this added endorsement. :) Hope you're having an awesome Tuesday, so far.
@@the_hermits_cave Pagan Otherworlds has been on my list for such a long time...just need to finally hit purchase! Everyday Enchantment is another one I've thought about off and on, AND last but not least, Shimmering Veil was supposed to be purchased this past Thursday, but I got busy at the last part of the day and then just didn't get to it. Oh, and Druid Craft is another I've thought about on and off. So many amazing decks! ha
Wow. I kept seeing this video pop up on my RU-vid suggestions and kept putting it off but after watching a couple of your comparison RWS deck videos and subsequent interview with CS, I decided to give it a shot. I didn't think watching a walkthrough video of various decks would be moving at all, but some of the things you mention as you flip through the cards resonated so well on a deep level. Thank you for making this video. I dreamt of a little ghost boy when I was very young and he looked a lot like the figures in the Deviant Moon deck. I'd love to get to know that one better. I purchased a Spacious Deck right after the video ended. Did you see that there's a 21 card expansion deck they made to go with it?
"Deck of the bastard tarot" is a mix of the Raider Waite, the Etteilla and the Marseille... Too bad they didn't do that but with illustrations in the same aesthetic style.
Yes, so agree - The Blue Box RWS Fool deck is my favourite. It is the deck that I use for all of my professional readings with clients. I am blessed to have 3 x blue box decks including the rare tuck box version.😍🔮
Oh what a list! Figured you would have to start with a version of the RWS deck. I'm so happy to see you chose Pagan Otherworlds! I honestly can't rate this deck highly enough. Honestly wish that more newer decks would use a similar "scenic pip" style for the minors. I would love a framed portrait of the Magician or Devil on my wall! 😍😍😍
I am surprised to see that I have only two of these (Pagan Otherworlds and Light Seer’s). I do have a 1972 buttery RWS, but it’s not a blushing fool. Light Seer’s is certainly in my top 10.
Beautiful choices, and you explain them so eloquently that the list feels almost inevitable. 💕🥰💕 However!! It must’ve been so hard to keep it to only ten, because I know there are a few other important and beloved decks in your collection that could be honourable mentions. But if we start doing that, then we’d be here all day, right? 😂
I have been converted to the Light Seers Tarot even if I never wanted that deck when it came out, I thought that theres too much hype about it. But now I love it... Now its my time to be converted to Deviant moon. At first, when I started to learn tarot, I watched videos and thought 'omg, such an ugly deck'.. Now I see that unique Patrick Valenza vision, but still I am in doubt would I love that deck to use or not. I am constantly adding it to my cart and then delete,.. This video added just one more plus to it, but still doesnt know.. Thank you, it was so fun to see your top 10!!
I’ve watched this through a couple of times. I have to say, Light Seers is growing on me, as is Deck of the Bastard. I hope you will update your top 10 as it changes. And if you have, sorry! :) I am working my way through your vids.
The Lovers is my Life Path card too. That really makes me wonder what your romantic life has been. Love has always been my driving force and my biggest downfall.
Hello great decks! I am new in tarot studying, have the deviant moon, wondering if you know where could i find info about shadow work for this deck, thank you!
@@the_hermits_cave literally city centre :) how weird is that haha. Your reviews are amazing I found you through your spirit within review, one of my favorite decks!
The Druidcraft looks ace trimmed. I want to trim mine and my Tarot of the Sidhe but I bought a papercutter(slicer) online instead of a guillotine ;-o Any recommendations for a good small guillotine? :-)
Hi, I think I don't like the "Deviant Moon" cards because I don't like the title "Deviant Moon". The Moon is always beautiful to me, and he isn't just something for me to be deviant. My mother tongue is german, but I think I could like the cards, but not the name of them. I don't know if i can get over it. Funny how my brain works sometimes...
I bought the Deviant Moon tarot because of you and because you read the passage about the death card. Thank you Simon!!! (I dreamt about this tarot too. It interacted with my Amy Brown Faery Wisdom Deck. So the fairies and the Deviant moon characters became one. It wasn't a nightmare, a bit unusual. :)
Hello thanks for the video. I m french and i m waiting for the light seer in french in september and you change my mind for the deviant moon... why do you think of the dark mansion?
Does your friend Kelly sell those bags?!!! I need them 😂😂😂 if you could link me please !!!! - also I hate the stigma around the Deviant Moon deck. Such a deep powerful deck. I always tell people some decks are sassy & like your best friend telling you you’re stupid 😂 and other decks are like your therapist, trying to get to the root of the problem. The Deviant Moon deck is really a therapist deck. Not mean, not sassy. Just really gently telling you the underlying issues.
