A few surprises in this vid. Shocking that Grand Austria Hotel is at that rank. Thought it would be higher. Curious on the rest of the series! Great vid, Jenna.
I have really been enjoying this series and how you describe each game. Your picks are a refreshing mix of casual to strategic, solo and multiplayer, and your description of why each game resonate with you personally makes it more interesting. Love your content, thoughtful descriptions, and cozy vibes! Keep up the great work!
You should know by now that I really like your top 100 videos and the variety of games you present 😂 I love Ark Nova as well and Federation went right onto my wishlist. But my favorite one from this part of the list is Merchants of the Dark Road. It looks super exciting AND has art done by Andrew Bosley. How could I say no to that? He is one of my favorite board game artists - do you have favorite board game artists?
With the "Let's Waltz!" expansion you will like Grand Austria Hotel even more. Underwater cities: It's good that you have the game on the list: A great game - it definitely has to be on the table again! Calico: A very nice game, especially as a solo game Barcelona: A great game, unfortunately not yet so well known in Germany. So many ways to get points. The expansion is currently on a crowdfunding platform in Germany - of course, I took part. Only 20 places left and so many good games that weren't on your list yet - I'm excited.
Fun opening. I agree how great Cartographers is, but I have to disagree on the Ambushes in multiplayer. I absolutely hate the "take that" aspect of purposely trying to screw someone over, But at the same time I also feel like if you dont you aren't really playing the game. I much prefer in solo mode where the game is messing you up.
I just secured a copy Darwin's Journey to be picked up at Gencon! Calico is a favorite too, further up on my list! If you want to make it let punishing, you can always add an additional tile to the draft pool. 30- Lost Ruins of Arnak 29- SET 28- Kanban EV 27- Lisboa 26- Dinosaur Island 25- Wayfarers of the South Tigris 24- The Night Cage 23- Cascadia 22- A Feast for Odin 21- Paladins of the West Kingdom
HAHA I clicked on this video hoping to get some inspiration for new games to buy. I'm four games into the video and all four are already in my very tiny starter collection (Only nine games so far). Glad to know that I have stumbled across some good games to start my collection, and more happy to know that there are still 26 better games out there for me to enjoy. Love the channel Jenna!
Last time: Penny - "I'll sit in front of you to be the audience" This time: Penny - "Now I'll sit in front of the camera and you be the audience!" Love it!
Terrific segment! I wish the Let's Waltz expansion for GAH were more readily available. I watched Totally Tabled's solo playthrough and it looked awesome. But in order for me to get the most out of GAH, I would need the solo mode. And I've never played a Vladimir Suchy game but Underwater Cities has me intrigued. I wish the solo mode wasn't BYOS, though. I find those don't have as much replayability for me. 30. Tussie Mussie 29. Sprawlopolis 28. Anachrony (probably will rise as I'm systematically working my way through all the expansion content) 27. The Artemis Project 26. 3 Ring Circus 25. Planet Unknown 24. Lost Ruins of Arnak 23. Sankore: The Pride of Mansa Musa (will probably drop as the solo mode is just too easy now) 22. Scholars of the South Tigris 21. Ark Nova
I somehow expected Ark Nova to be in your top 10. I actually love photographs in games, it should be done more often. I'm even tempted to purchase Earth for that reason, although my first and only experience with that game wasn't fun. And I'm not a dog lover by far, but omg how cute is Penny ❤
Yay Barcelona!! Such an incredible game, cannot wait for the expansion. Have you tried Dani Garcia’s other 2023 release, Arborea? Well worth the try if the euro love is there lol. Great picks 👍
@@TheBoardGameGarden Oh, as in submarines. That makes more sense. I thought you had some kind of fear of games with lots of sub-mechanics. Like a worker placement is fine, an area control is fine, a bidding game is fine but if a game had all three mechanics, then its a no-go. Hey, i also get claustrophobic in tjat submarine nemo ride at Disneyland. And don't get me started on that crazy burglar jail thing that used to be at McDonald's outdoor playlands.
