my no. 1 has to be 1957. its my signature scent and the notes in it just scream nostalgia to me. to me its very meaningful perfume. the price is a bit too steep for signature scent. but its just so worth every penny.

I like your style of reviewing. The exclusifs smell better on women than on me. The Allure and Bleu line get the job done for me. Glad to know my Sycomore is at Number 1! I also have Pour Monsieur, Bleu de Chanel Parfum, Antaeus and I recently got Boy Chanel and Paris Biarritz. I had the old Egoiste a long time ago(the early 90s) but I thought it was too intense for me so I gave it away. Regrets, regrets!
I'm one of the ones who is disappointed with the reformulation of the Les Exclusives . I smelled the edps when they first came out either in 2016 or 2017 & was not happy . I would have to smell them again to re-acquaint myself & to see if my feelings are the same . I also haven't tried the Les Eaux yet which I'm looking forward to . My favorites are the edt versions of No 18 , Sycamore , Gardenia , 28 La Pausa , & 31 Rue Cambon . I also enjoy the pure perfume in Bois des Isles & No 5 once in a while . I also want to try the pure perfume in Jersey .
As a man myself, I adore both N•5 and N•19... And I have to say 1. You forgot to mention that there's the PURE PARFUM concentration available. 2. Personally speaking, the parfums are the greatest representation of all Chanel parfums so if you ever to smell at least a vintage N•5 or other Chanel extraits, consider yourself blessed😅😍💯😎 Great video tho!!! Hope you'll get yourself a bottle of N•19 parfum... A masterpiece in its own rights, more often shadowed by N•5.
Absolutely -- with respect you couldn't have a top 20 Chanel list without no 19... Vintage extrait.. I've got SEVERAL bottles because I want to die before I run out.... A masterpiece....
My favs from Chanel are Coco, Chance Eau Fraiche, Allure Homme Edition Blanche, Cuir De Russie, #19 & Bois Des Isles! I am a woman who hates florals & Chanel is just up my alley!
At the risk of sounding cliche, I can't help but write: Great List. Chanel is without peer at the art of smell. No other house so regularly creates fragrances that master the olfactory experience. I have smelled all, but the Paris-line of these fragrances, and find nearly all of them hall-of-fame worthy. Thanks for the journey down this road of masterpieces.
Sycomore 👍 Even though it isn't the most Chanel-ly, the punch and the elegance combined. S mostly leans on the elegance. I think Le Lion is a more corageous one with the labdanum at its core.
I was a huge Chanel fanboy in the 80s/90s, but sort of lost touch except for Pour Monsieur which has been in my collection since 82. Thanks for the reminder to check them out again.

My favorite was Chanel no.5 parfum, a vintage that my mom passed on to me, but now I love Coromandel the most. I bought it after testing it at a Chanel boutique after I watched your video.

If memory serves me correctly, Boy was never released as an edt. It was the first edp of the Les Exclusifs edps. Love your list, Sebastian, but I would need more than 20 slots! My first Chanel extrait and absolute love was the extraordinary Bois des Iles. Other Chanels that make me happy are Coco (late 1990's version, with rich amber and patchouli, yet radiant), 31 Rue Cambon, 1932 and the aldehydic wonder No. 22. I adore Sycomore, but also love its green cousin, Bel Respiro for sunny, spring-like days. Nos. 19 and 5 will always be in my collection, as they are perfect. And Coromandel was made for patch-lover me. I haven't tried any of the Eaux de Toilettes. Yet. Thanks so much for your take on Chanel!
What a great list. I absolutely agree with your numbers 1 and 2, in the edt version (especially Sycomore got butchered in edp). While I would never put a Bleu in the list I can see why people like it. I would have put Bois des Iles somewhere in my top 5 as well.
I found this video and watched it , in honor of my Chanel list of 16 different Chanel fragrances . My birthday day was Monday September 13th, and one of my presents was Chanel Les Exclusif BEIGE edp. Blind buy. I’m getting to know this scent and it’s place within my collection. 1)Chanel no. 22 edp is my number 1 Chanel fragrance. 2) Gabrielle Essence edp. 3) Chance eau Vive edt. 4)Coco edt spray 5)Coco Noir Edp. , Chanel no. 19 edt.
Definitely Sycomore,Boy!,Anthaeus,Allure pour homme,Pour Monsieur,and Egoiste(ranked randomly)....I would defintely skip Bleu,which I had,but from time distance,I will never wear it again,because it's too common,lost exclusivity,but I can't deny that it smells great.

revisiting this video. I gotta go back and resniff Boy and Egoiste. (probably not the platinum.) The way you are describing them I think I'd like them. Two I did buy and enjoy (but are not on your list) are 1957 and Bois De Iles.
I use Chanel fragrances on my "not-so-perfect" days when I'm not shaved, when I have probably second day hair, because I think that the effortlessness is in their DNA.I usually go for No 5 edp, because for me it's just a better version of body smell - I don't know if that makes sense.Last year I discovered my love for Coco edp, which I wear when somebody pisses me off at work and I want to play on their nose,because I know they're gonna hate this scent when they're in my presence, so Coco is a great representation of my mood, but I love to wear it in a spare time just for myself too,because I love it's soapy spicyness.
I have both edicion blanche edt and edp...and they have distinct dry downs at the 5th hour.... also, bleu d chanel edt, original, is diffrnt than the edt of today.....Great video here,...will look into the exclusif line soon🤝
Great list - I have many of these, but would rank them a bit differently. While I don't personally love no5, it is a masterpiece. I agree with Sycomore as number one (by a far margin) I would also put Bois des Iles on here, which is the most lovely sandalwood.
Have you tried the EDT of No.5? I like it slightly better than the EDP because it’s got a more masculine touch, a bit animalic and decidedly less floral. I like to wear the EDP to bed, it’s so relaxing and-at least to me-sleep inducing.

I have also decands from Beige, Bel respiro,Misia. I have also allure homme,Edition blanch, allure extreme, platinum egoist, allure sport colongne, blue de chanel. Boy is absolutely summed up as brute aftershave barber shop for 80 year old men. I bought it on a blind buy after so many recommendations. Instant regret. Scared to buy any of these now. Was gonna get N 18 and Sycomore but prob won’t now. Don’t wanna be out 400 on some Fragrances that’ll never get used
Cuir de Russie is gold. It seems they changed the formula or something coz the color seems less intense in the latest versions. The smell is great but somehow on my skin doesn't last long, so I have to spray a lot. Misia is also a favorite, very mixte fragrance.
I just tried Sycomore and really love it! It definitely deserves to be at the top. However I cant seem to get more than 2 hours from the EDP. After that, the projection is about 1-2 inches from my skin. Is this something that you spray throughout the day, or just 2-3 sprays in the morning?
Hi Sebastian ! I totally agree with your list, except that I'm not into Allure and Bleu, too masculine for me and that I've never smell Sycomore (what a pity). My favs are Coromandel and Beige.
Last time I checked, I don't have a single Chanel in my 150+ collection. If I finally decided to buy one, I am sure it will be from this list without even finishing this video.
Arguably, Antaeus For Men is the greatest men’s fragrance ever created. It’s definitely not unisex and so unlike many of the neutered male fragrances nowadays for young men.
I love Chanel 19, but I prefer the vintage version of the EDP and the EDT, better than the now version. The now is good, don't get me wrong, but it is not the same. I love Coromandel!!! I prefer it on a guy, and me smelling it on him rather than on me.

Coromandel is absolutely fabulous,and it deserves the almost top position....Sycomore...too similar to encre noire to justifye 5 times higher price....my opinion.I wanted to buy it,but I'd rather go with Dyptique Vetyverio instead.
Agreed 100%. Coromandel is one of the best orientals ever created, perfect for both men and women. The only reason I have it as my no.4, is that it isn't as versatile as my top 3. I think Sycomore is quite overrated. Om my opinion Guerlain Vetiver is just as good as Sycomore, and much better price 😉
I only have to Chanel fragrances Chanel Chance eau Fraiche and Crystalle Ear Verte. I never really liked the Allures, many of Chanel fragrances are a little to powdery for me, I kind of have a love hate relationship with them.

Re DNA you can smell it in a lot of their fragrances a key dna. I'm not too familiar with Chance though I don't have too much experience with it. Anything is okay for both sexes to wear.
Hi! I just recently subscribed and I love your channel... as well as Chanel :) Could you recommend a fragrance that smells similar to Paris Venise, because it smells amazing on my skin, sadly to say, unlike most of the fragrances I tried. The problem with Paris Venise is it's just a little too light... I have a surprisingly weird skin (told by others) on which most fragrances I love on paper, just plain suck on me and stink ... Allure edp also fits me perfectly... Thank you...
Well it's an Oriental but starts out fresh and spicy then settles to a resinous, powdery base with a powdery heart of Iris. I think you might look for some Oriental offerings from the niche houses and buy some samples to test. Just look for resinous fragrances that start fresh with Iris. I haven't found anything similar to this unfortunately! :)
I just adore chanel 19 but last nothing on my skin. So sad. Can any body please recommend me a similar fragance or at list of that style with better performance?
