@@vibhakallianpur , Wow 3, that's really great to know & awesome work, appreciate it :-) Caring for 3 pets is not a simple thing that anyone can do! Have a great time :-)
I am following your tips sir,plz tell me the best hormone power for plant, I wl buy from online, can't able to do plantation from cutting, because it's dies soon
Hi beautiful flowers In my house no direct sunlight but plenty of indirect light and air i have one plant will it bloom in such conditions I love this plant I live in Mumbai so climate is humid here Pl answer
I had orange and red colours. Pink one is very small that I had grown from cutting almost 2years back. Then planted in direct soil. But not at all growing. I should have to do something to it. Since I am working women and have to travel 4and half hours a day I don’t get time for all these. I enjoyed the video and that yellow colour I didn’t see before is really pretty.
@Soni Soni, Wow..you travel 4/1/2 hours a day and also you have a garden...I would say that, that's really impressive. It shows how much you love your plants. I can also understand your situation and I am totally agree with you, Gardening needs lots of time. Thank you very much for watching the video and glad to know you liked the Yellow one. It's one of my favorite too, hard to get in nurseries though. And, I would be showing more blooms in coming days n I hope you would like that :-)
Sir, I bought this plant two months ago and before shifting it to the nursery all its leaves had burnt, only 6-7 are left. Now I have planted it in a pot. I put gardan soil, sand, fungicide and vermicompost in it and it has been 20-25 days since I planted it in the pot. I gave it epsom salt water. Only the buds that I got from the nursery have bloomed. I did deadheading of it when it wilted but neither any new leaves are coming on it nor buds are forming. I also gave it banana peel and potato peel fertilizer and put air tea leaves as well. Now what should I do Sir, the plant seems very empty. The steam that is coming out from above has turned brown.
Thank.you for the lovely tips. Will follow your advice. However, once the flowers blooms, pls suggest what to do. Do I leave it on the plant or cut off the bunch
@Foxy Gamer 342, Thank you so so much for watching the video, appreciate it :-) Temperature in Trinidad and Tobago almost similar to my place Assam (India) and I hope your plants grow well, good luck :-)
beautiful flowers and very.nice video and explanation..i love ixoria plant.. i bought Ixoria plant but i notoced there are mo roots ..plezde tell me hoecan i plant tnis beanch without roits..thank giu very much in.afvance .
@Rajalakshmi Mohan, Since you have already repoted them, it's okay. If you repot it again, the plant would go through repotting shock again and would take some more time to settle down. However, you can enjoy blooms faster by keeping them in small container first :-)
Hi My ixora kind of wilted in the heat and hot wind, and most probably I forgot to water it for a day. The soil that I had bought it in is red clay, should I repot?? Please help
@smriti verma, Sure, repotting would help the plants. Those red kind of soil, doesn't retain the moisture for very long as water runs out very fast. Good luck :-)
I bought dwarf variety ixora in may .... however after potting in ground,it's leaves has started to grow bigger and bigger, but no blooming even after 2 months.
Sunshine, it needs more sunshine maybe. Prune anything blocking the light, if they don't get enough sun they wont flower. Some of the larger leaf ones like the Super King (red) need midday/noon shade only.

Hi sir excellent information so faar, my ixora plant hasn't bloomed for past two years I've fed him really v well, prun ed it , but I don't see any bloom so far. What should I do?
I planted the ixora in a very big pot and the plant was very small and it the same now in April also same some leaves has come on 2 sticks....it will be ok to repot it in a small pot... thanks
@Naseema Khan, It's okay and you can keep them in the same pot. If you want to repot at this time, you might have to prune the roots. Since it's the growth time, better not to disturb the plant. Thank you :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat sorry if u didn't like calling u sir. I just wrote to address u with some kind of respect you may be much younger than me but i believe in respecting our youngers too.
@alis shaikh, It's not about liking actually and please, you don't have to say sorry at all. I can totally understand you and I actually feel better when I am called by my name (Chandan), brother, bhaya or anything other than sir. Thank you :-)
Happy for your information. Just found out true your info that I tepotted my 8 ixoria’s into a too big containerS. ( should have chosen a smaller size). Now after repotting the soil is very wet and the humidity is like 80% and we had no sun the past 3 days. I dont water them now. Will this harm the roots? What can I expect the plant will do ? And would like to know your opinion on human urine as a fertilizer for the Ixora. Sorry a bit gross 🥃, “cheers”
@Aji Nana, Most welcome n thank you so much for watching ☺️ Mustard cake Powder basically provides Protein n other Micronutrients. I can understand n instead of this, you can use either Fish emulsion fertilizer or blood meal, thank you n hope that helps ☺️
@Joy Kanai Sumita Das, Thank you so so much :-) I collected them from Nurseries in my place (Guwahati) One request - I would really appreciate if you don't call me Sir, thank you :-)
Beautiful flowers 👌 I bought exora in last July but it is not blooming yet but growing well. Fertilizing once in a month. Can I prune its tips at this time . It is long leaves variety
@Sujatha Gopal, Thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it. No, it's the right time to repot as Ixora is a summer flowering plant. Good luck :-)
Very nice. I am watching all your videos. One thing how you are remembering all the days and schedule for each and every plant? Because when we handle many plants it is not easy to remember when we gave what fertilizer and all. Is there any order you are following? Like on what day what has to be given and all? Is it possible?
I got Ixora plant yesterday. There are quite a lot of buds already. Should I allow them to bloom or would it be effective to cut the toppings to get better results?
I just bought 3 diff colur Ixora..yellow, orange n red n looking for repotting help..thanx for this n one more thing Hydrangea is star it's growth bt on one branch only
@Rash Raj, Most welcome and glad to know it was helpful. No worry, your Hydrangea would grow well as season is almost near. Again, thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it.
My ixora plant is in the soil and growing but all leaves are getting red and brown spots.and flowers too get black and dry and clustered hard in between .put rogor and neem spray too but no difference so cut off all branches .now waiting for it to grow again. Due to heavy rain soil too is clayey
@Anthony Pereira, Wow, you have lots of collections and I am really glad to meet a gardener like you :-) I wish I could help...but whenever we grow a plant in ground, we really don't have too much options other than fertilizing it timely and protecting from different pests. If it's not growing well n blooming, definitely it's not getting the enough nutrients and there could be 2 possibilities - 1. The soil is not rich enough - For this, you can add either Vermicompost or Composted cow dung manure. How to do it - Dig a whole (6-8 inches deep and wide) in a radius of 1.5-2 foot from the base of the plant and then add the fertilizers. You can also add around 50-100 grams Mustard cake powder. You can add more amount of organic fertilizers at once since it's in ground and doing 3-4 times in a year would be enough. Ixora normally start growing actively from Spring season and so you can apply the first dose of fertilizers now itself. Other than that, you can spray Micronutrients once in 25-30 days. 2. Competition from other plants - If it's the case, you would need to get rid of other unwanted plants. I know it would be difficult to do that and I don't recommend to do that either. I hope that helps..I too have many plants in ground and not all of them are doing good. It's because of the competition and bad soil. I live in a Flat and I hope you can assume how the soil health would be in the ground floor. But still, some are doing great but not all. I have 2 Gardenia plants growing in ground...produced lots of buds and would share very soon. Thank you :-)
Can we use banana peel powder instead of bonemeal and use it with vermicompost for getting same result like this? Secondly I have micronutrients powder, so can I substitute that with mustard cake powder?
Bear in mind Ixora's like soil on the acidic side, like Azaleas. If they don't get that the leaves turn yellow, lower ones fall off and the plant wont thrive and become stunted. Pine bark compost or pine needle compost, peat, vermicast eg are acidic. Vermicast can have other things added to it by manufacturers to make it alkaline, so read the ingriediants or do a simple PH strip test on it. Your soil/garden soil could be perfectly acidic so testing is a good idea before ammending. You can get test-kits from an aquarium shop if your garden shop doesn't have soil test strips. Just make a water solution with the soil using pure distilled water (that water they put in car batteries) this is important as the water you use can change the PH, distilled is bang in the middle at 7, completely neutral. Other ways..... Add Elemental yellow Sulfur to the soil. Sulfur will take some time to break down and lower the soil pH, up to three years, so it should be added at leat the year before you want to plant or mixed into compost and allowed to break down then used. ...breaks down faster with high rain and heat in the tropics. Add Iron Sulfate. ... Add Peat . ...(expensive import, not easily available in India) Use Acidic Fertilizer. ...for Azaleas etc Add Aluminum Sulfate. ...(small ammount when you water, or you can damage roots) Add Ammonium Sulfate.
Can i use npk 20-5-8+2mgo or 12-12-17 for ixora planted in the ground ? If yes then please tell me how many teaspoon I should apply and how often? Thanks
The middle number should be low as they don't like much phosphorus, like 12-5-15+MG. Your first fert is good by you might have to add extra potasium. Palm fertilisers work well, Mgo or magnesium is very good. Depends on if your fertilser is slow release or instantly dissolves in water how often you use it and how much rain you get. Three times a year should be enough with slow release with instantly solulable sprinkle a little often, only a little but often.
Hi bhaiya Ixora my one of the most favorite plant nice nd informative video especially for me thanx bhaiya 🙏 But i m missing yr lovely nd cute daughter in this video 😘😍
@Tajwar Shamim, Thank you so so much for the feedback and good to know it's one of your favourite plant :-) My daughter...ha ha..thank you so much :-) Just added her on my new video :-)
My ixora have no leaves in lower portion its a leggy stem 😢only few leaves at top what should i do to have levaes at lower end please suggest me if anyone knows . Thank you
You can fix this by pruning..but this is not the right time to prune as season is almost about to end. You can do hard pruning in Feb next year and definitely your plant would be much fuller.
@Gagan Sharma, Thank you so so much :-) I try to keep in full sun as much as possible. But, Ixora also bloom well with less sunlight like I have shown in the video. Thank you :-)
@Saraswati Chetri, If it's happening now, it's okay as during this time of the year, Ixora doesn't grow well. You should see new growth from April onwards and that time you can fertilize it. At present, please be careful while watering. It won't need lots of water as leaves are already turning yellow and falling off. One request - I would appreciate if you don't call me sir, thank you :-)
@Punam Bisht, Ma'am, at this of the year, it's common ad we can see the same sign in many plants. They would start growing from Spring onwards when temperature goes up a bit and it starts to rain. You did the good thing by pruning it :-) Good luck :-)
