I'm going to include SoulCalibur 7 in this comment because I think Bandai Namco has potential for some EPIC guest character cross promotion if they announce SoulCalibur 7 and bridge the universes with certain guests: Option 1: Tekken 8 = Tifa SoulCalibur 7 = Cloud Strife It would cross promote the FF7 Remakes while bringing forth two of the most wanted guest characters for each series. Bonus points if they also add Aerith for T8 and Sephiroth for SC7. It would be insane. Option 2: Tekken 8 = Monkey D. Luffy SoulCalibur 7 = Roronoa Zoro Bandai Namco already publishes One Piece games so getting the rights wouldn't be too hard. One Piece is a worldwide phenomenon and it would be epic seeing Luffy in Tekken, and Zoro getting lost in the world of SoulCalibur with his unique and iconic 3 sword style.
Eh, do not really see them. Here are mine though: Nathan Drake from Uncharted, Hoarah Loux from Elden Ring, Kung Lao/Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat, maybe Yang from Sifu or Yoruichi from Bleach
Good picks. I don't know anything about Dark Souls or Bleach but both franchises are huge. Would be a good collab for Tekken. Hoarah Loux looks mad scary though.
I think Michael Myers and Predator are pretty cool but yea I think the people getting super hyped for the horror movie characters in MK are mostly the older crowd. I think choosing guest characters can be tough. Especially when some of the biggest games now are Valorant and Fortnite which would make no sense in Tekken. I think the 4 I picked have a good balance of being popular and also being a good fit for Tekken.
The genres are very different but I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing. We seem to live in the era where if a big streamer is playing a game people will play it. If these creators were to bring in just 5k new players by streaming Tekken a few times that would be a big deal for Tekken's player base which is sitting at around 8k right now on Steam. Talking specifically about PC here since I can't see console numbers. It seems like every time Tekken 7 had a DLC update the player base would increase by around 5k. COD or Apex could at the very least bring in 5k players. We're talking about games that have at least 100k players on each platform. I'd expect the collab to do much better in fact. I'm sure there are better games for Tekken to collab with people have made some really good suggestions here. These were just the best I could come up with.
Your choices are all very very good. Eventhough I don't play COD nor Apex Legend. I was sceptical at first, but after your explanations it's all makes sense. Yujiro and Sukuna, absolutely! The only little problem would be that I don't think COD would want to collab. I mean, what would they really get from Tekken? Fortnite I can see it, but COD idk man. For my own wishes, I'd like Tifa from FF (just like the whole Internet, apparently) and a JoJo character (maybe Jotaro, but Josuke would also be ok) because Bandai Namco has the JoJo license now from Capcom. Oh, and perhaps also Vi or Jinx because we'll get a new season of Arcane soon. I love love love the show (never even played the game.)
Solid choices. I did not know Bandai Namco had the JoJo license. Since COD is owned by Microsoft now I think there is potential. They have ambitions to grow in Japan.
Keep joker out of tekken. If theres a guest char i want it would be Dante/virgil/nero. With the new DMC anime bro push for a new DMC game. Please god no FF char
Dante would be super cool. For real I just found out about the anime thanks to your comment. I was thinking about DMC the only problem was the last game came out in 2019. Also I don't know how popular DMC is. If I knew about the anime I might have suggested a DMC character in the video. Also I wasn't suggesting Joker to be in Tekken that was an example of a character that I really like but wouldn't suggest to be a guest character for one reason or another.
Yujiro Hanma - This would be a good idea despite the fact that Baki, the main character makes more sense. Sukuna - No. Bandai Namco or any other company like Arc System Works should make Shonen Jump fighting game and stop wanking the Dragon Ball series so much. COD Ghost & Apex Legends characters - Absolutely NOT!! This is Tekken (Iron Fist) keep the shooters in their own genre and cross them over however you like! It's bad enough Nina has guns Jack-8 launching missiles and proton canons , John Wick knockoffs, Cyborgs with head bombs and chainsaws. True fans are upset enough that the game is driving off from its original h2h combat roots. More shooters are the last thing we need in a fighting game. Enjoy Heihachi ✌🏿
I'm not sure I understand your point about Sukuna. As far as the FPS characters go. I don't feel like they'd be out of place. The devs wouldn't turn the game into an FPS just cause they added an FPS character. Plus Tekken has always had wild characters devils, robots, Yoshimitsu, etc. I don't really see Tekken as this realistic fight simulator. I think catering the game to "true fans" will only prevent Tekken from reaching it's full potential. Like I said though I would prefer a Tekken with no guest characters at all. But this video is about guest characters that will grow the franchise.
@@Rummy6ix My point about about Itadori/Sukuna is just as stated. I'd prefer the two being in a Shonen Jump fighting game instead. Other than that, Itadori looking for Sukuna's fingers in the King of Iron Fist Tournament would be cool, but I don't see Harada putting that plan in motion. Overall, Yujiro Hanma has a greater chance. I didn't envision, nor wouldn't assume because a fps character was in Tekken that game would become a fps...not sure what you're implying. And just because overtop the top characters like Alisa, Angel, the Devils and robots made it in the game doesn't mean it was a good decision. More people actually dislike the characters more than otherwise. I on the other hand, find fps shooters in a fighting game such as Tekken, WAY out of place. Tekken 8 already gave you Victor who came equipped with an arsenal. Tekken won't reach its "full potential" because I don't see things the way you do? C'mon dude grow up! Some Kengan Ashura (Manga/Anime) characters would be cool in Tekken: Ohma Tokita, Kure Raian, Wakatsuki Takeshi, Julius Reinhold, Kuroki Gensai and Kanoh Agito. Really well made characters. the fights really entertaining. I recommend it to Tekken fans
